when talking about rule changes and how the game evolved they always fail to mention the most important rule change ever which was the illegal defense rule change in the early 2000’s. That rule change alone is responsible for the amount of shooting we see and why players are required to be so skilled. It’s not an isolation game as it was in the 90’s because of that. The best way to describe the superstar power dynamic of the 2016 to 2019 Warriors was that KD was their best talented/skilled offensive individual player, but Curry was still their most impactful and most important player to their motion offense system. Curry drew all the attention because of his constant motion and three point shooting gravity. I compare Steph and KD to the Showtime Offense of the Magic and Kareem Lakers. Magic was their most important player, he ran the whole offense, but Kareem was their best one on one guy when the offense broke down. That's pretty much what the Warriors did too, when the motion offense broke down, the ball was going to KD for an iso. KD and Kareem are very similar in so many ways, two of the most unstoppable weapons I have ever seen when paired with a great system. Because of their insane reach, they both could get their shots over anyone.
I would argue that he looked like the best offensive player because he was in one on one matchups a lot or just open but it was curry and his range and everything that made them put all the attention on him. I would say Curry was the better player but Kevin Durant was in the perfect role of the Harrison Barnes and Andrew Wiggins role.
@@DuckFanDane You are twisting words though, how can a player just merely look like the best player if he gets the most points on the team? KD was the best offensive individual scorer on the team, in part to Curry's off-ball motion, but KD was the main guy they went to down the stretch of those games. Ultimately, I look at those two championships they won together as almost nothing in terms of their respective legacies. Them winning as the Super Warriors did squat to me in terms of their individual ranks in NBA history. They both needed each other equally to win those titles. KD was their closer, and that was just get the ball to KD, screw the system. Curry was their engine for most of the game, but plenty of times the Warriors just stood around in awe of KD's offensive mastery. If Curry goes onto win the title this year and that Finals MVP, I'll move him up to #12 all-time on my list, well ahead of KD.

What I remember from the 2017 nba finals is that the cavs defended the three. And that allowed durant to play a mid range J and all the way to the hoop too. Steph is an amazing player but you cant teach 7 feet. Steph is 6-3 and there is but so much he can do physically specially when you throw 6-7 to 6-9 defenders in his direction. If curry is smart he just need to hit open teammates when this happens and use the double teams to the warriors advantage.
Well yeah, thats what Steph has been doing for years in GS, but instead of a direct pass, Steph throw it to Draymond who find the open man off the double team. But that also mean Steph wont get as many pts, or get as many open looks as guys who doesnt get doubled as much.
Also there’s the fact that the offense runs through Curry and Curry can make the shot right when he reaches half quart he was the more deadly in better player that is why he got the double team
You said that like he didn't hit open teammates. He averaged 9 assists that Finals. It's not like he was rattled and turned the ball over like crazy. This is old news for him at this point
Robert Horry being carried throughout the regular season had him so much in the tank to show in the post season but what makes him great is he can turn it on when it's time to play clutch games.

I get tired of these people talking about KD like he's so great only because he's so tall. I'm sorry. Scoring the basketball is all KD is good at. And the only reason he's good at it is cuz he's taller than everybody so nobody can block his shot.... That's not impressive. That's like Shaq dunking on John stockton. Not really a massive feat. So what's more impressive a guy who scores a bunch of points. Cuz he's taller than everybody. Or a guy who's shorter than everybody and still has the most unstoppable shot. Because his range is limitless. Like this thing some people say. But Golden State brought this on themselves when they brought that
KD scores with finess. But he’s no lebron. Lebron and MJ and Kobe had grit. Lebron and MJ had all those extended seasons reaching the finals and his body never broke down like Durante after 2 extended finals seasons, or Steph/Klay/Draymonds body’s after 5.

Stas are on the internet. To be factual is over 36 times more... ridiculous to believe but saying 7 times more was being extra generous lmao but KD did not get it lmao
Exactly.. Teams thought doubling KD was pointless then because KD was easily beating that.. It was easier to double Steph and hope KD have a bad game.. It's logical defense.. People just looking for ways to say negative stuff.. Let that hate sit where it's at..
Actually KD was exposed this year and in the year he got beat by GS. KD is great on walk up 3s and quick moves to get to the elbow where he is effective, but when doubled out on the perimeter he has problems. However not doubling steph would end up crippling a team because of his effective FG% which is better than KD. SO yes it makes sense to double Curry more. No one said anything but the truth, KD got in his feelings over some facts and Dray wasnt even discrediting KD. KD has to get upset because someone is giving steph credit? Steph never gets bent when people say good things about KD at his expense, and was welcoming to KD, but KD out here being insecure.

when talking about rule changes and how the game evolved they always fail to mention the most important rule change ever which was the illegal defense rule change in the early 2000’s. We watched it, and stats backed the fact that Curry was double teamed 20x more than durant
Because of their insane reach, they both could get their shots over anyone.
facts

But Golden State brought this on themselves when they brought that
Lol Steph is only great at scoring the ball folks never shut up about him KD plays defense
This is one of the worst takes I've ever read.
Bro look how many centers we got in the league who don’t score as good as he does and are as tall as he is if not taller
Why does KD has to respond to literally everything lol like bruh enjoy your life go on vacation, start a family or something like does he just sit on his phone and search his name all day???
The thing is he didn’t pull the stat out of his ass. It’s around 7 times more, i think even more. I hope somebody reads the comments for Rob and Chris because they don’t know how much either Chris is just hypothesising that it was 2 or 3 even though it’s much more.
Stas are on the internet. To be factual is over 36 times more... ridiculous to believe but saying 7 times more was being extra generous lmao but KD did not get it lmao
There’s actually stats tht prove Steph was doubled more than KD
They should have recorded Advanced analytics on it…it’ll come out soon
IT'S ACTUALLY FACTUAL LOL STEPH DOUBLED 62 TIMES IN THE FINALS, KD 3 😂😂😂
KD is just the most sensitive superstar player ever in the history of the NBA. No wonder he's been called cupcake lol
A fan asked him a question on twitter though he can reply. Also, he is always on social media but he didn’t affect his game at all though
Steph better than k.d I'm just now realizing dat
Why is this an argument??? THIS IS FACT.
You know what Draymond meant and media & fans know what he meant. The media needs to stop trying to remix his words and re-propagate the Kd/Draymond fake beef.
Robert knew he wasn't going to get good playing time so he stayed ready the definition of clutch
Both Draymond and KD where there on the Court. it's who you want to believe and i believe Draymond. we don't see any other Warriors who were there running to defend KD. talk to them. ask them.
Rob will understand ANYTHING KD does.
Lol. Rob said be accurate and impartial. The pot and the kettle
Game 3 of the 2018 finals Cleveland sold out to ONLY guard Steph. Prime example. Steph and KD had a 2 on 2 fast break. KD dribbled straight into the paint for a dunk because JR ran out to guard the Steph three letting KD get a dunk.
Game 3 kd outscored klay draymond steps and Andre combined Hahahah curry was crying after that game
