Look on the bright side: Capcom did say USF2 was their interest check to see how well stuff sold on the Switch. It sold well enough for them to decide to support the Switch. So in a roundabout way you had a hand in making this happen.

DarkLink1996 You know it's because of them we are now getting this. The Final Challengers sold past expectations and made Capcom start taking the Switch seriously.
Yeah, if we hadn't bought that game, the Switch wouldn't even be considered for.
But this has the version directly prior to Ultra SF II, not counting it's HD remaster. As PART of this collection, which is the same price as that one game. 2 extra characters, one of which is in the Alpha series, also included in the collection, isn't worth that. :/
We have to be sure if this version of Alpha 2 has Evil Ryu in it, as the SNES version doesn't. Besides, this is probably gonna be as good as SF and Switch gets, unless they put some version of SF4 on Switch.

I played Street fighter Alpha 2 in my snes. I still own that cart
Not to mention arcade accurate versions of the first 5. Before this collection, the most arcade accurate SF2 on a Nintendo home console was Super SF2 SNES back in 1994, around 24 years ago! Let that sink in for a second. Over the span of 5 consoles since SNES that could have more than handled it not one effort by Capcom was made to at least port ONE of the collections over from long ago. Yet had the nerve to allow for the rerelease of the SNES games AND the Genesis games on VC while every other system got the real deal whether it was the collections or HDR.
And before anyone mentions them, the GB, GBA games do not count.
So psyched for this cart!

But now that this newer better more complete game is coming out it literally renders the other game useless and unnecessary. Yea at the time they needed it to gauge interest but now people who bought that game are going to feel totally betrayed.

Everyone needs to buy Street Fighter 30th Anniversary collection for Nintendo Switch. Let's show Capcom that we want to see more brand new games, more collections, etc come to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo should also help revive some of Capcom's other IP's.

A lot of people have been champing at the bit for a Resident Evil 2 remake. Thing is, however, I already have Street Fighter II on my SNES Mini. I'm just not too interested in getting another version. It is nice to see the original Street Fighter get some recognition, though.

Ultra sf 2 is a version of part 2 with some new modes and new design. This the collection of the originals

@@darthkahn45 I am a good SSF2T player but here in the arcade collection i wondered why it is so hard to complete arcade mode even with one star diffucult setting. Only found out six mount ago, that it's the super cheap A.I. draining your wallet for coins off western arcade version.

This is unrelated to the video, but I think the switch needs more fighting games like this. A mortal kombat collection or mortal kombat x on the switch would be cool.
I am a little sad that Alpha 3 isn't based on the PSP version. That has the most characters.
Chaos_Knight People in the Fighting game community are sticklers for "arcade perfect" games. I can't say I blame them. I'm ridiculously hyped.
Can I ask though, was that version ported to anything else. I seem to remember hearing the psp D pad had a similar reputation to the switch D pad, in the sense that It was not Ideal.

That would have to be a port, and this entire collection is based on emulation of the respective systems these games were made in. I will say though, that at the minimum I would hope for the Alpha Anthology’s SFA3 Upper as a hidden game, as that was based on a modified version of arcade A3 with the home version characters added in.
I'm not just ready for this but also the Nintendo Direct on thursday :D

Man am I glad that this game offers a wide screen option that removes the decorative bars at the edge of the screen. I have an OLG OLED E6 4K tv and it can get image retention and I've done everything to avoid that lol! I've been enjoying this game big time with my 6 year old son. 😎 awesome way to bond.

i won a videogame contest (sf2 on snes) in a shopping mall in my city and the price was a snes with sf2, that happened around 25/26 years ago.
We haven't gotten Street Fighter III: Third Strike on a Nintendo system... until now. Kudos to CAPCOM! The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a definite must buy!

We didn’t get the Three series PERIOD!!!! And up until USF2 we never had an arcade accurate feeling SF2 either, the closest SF2 prior to that was the SNES SSF2 from the 90s! (I would say SSF2TR, but that game had bugs like crazy, and the slowdown was rough). The only Alpha 1 was the great, but still extremely limited GBC version. The SFA2 port was the ill fated SNES one. SFA3 was the great but also limited GBA version, and the best parts of that were sent to PSP in an in house made port that was everything the GBA couldn’t possibly be.
In a sense Ultra and this collection is LONG OVERDUE.
