I was at this match and Dennis Law became an instant hero. Like Dennis I was born in Aberdeen. He later joined my favourite club MUFC and despite seeing many great players there he has remained my all time favourite.
Hi Gordon, this was a friendly game played in October 1961. When Joe Baker signed for Torino I think part of the deal was that Torino would play a friendly match with Hibs at Easter Road👍
@@johnsparky2 I was 14 at the time and i was at the game and your right it was an agreement to play Hibs and i think they had to play at Manchester City as well

Yet another fantastic upload John.
My Dad playing at no2 for Hibs .. he told me he’d got away with a cheeky handball against Denis Law but this is the first time I’ve seen it
David, Thanks for clarifying that, I noticed Law claiming for hand ball but I was never sure if the Hibs player had actually handled the ball.
Green army, say no more👌💚🇳🇬☘️
My very first Hibs game!
We got that game because it was part of the Baker deal, correct me if I’m wrong. Torino only finished 7 th that season.
G son Yes that’s what I understood. I only saw Baker on his return to Easter Road 10 years later.
Was this a European tie or a pre season friendly ? Any way up , great to see some actual footage from this era at a packed oot Easter Road .
