    Last year, all I asked for mother’s day was to get to play Tears of the Kingdom without guilt for taking the time. My toddlers played, my five-year-old help me play, and my husband was in charge of meals for the day. It was the best Mother's Day I've ever had! No judgment on gaming!

    I have A5 journals for gaming. I write my backstories of my characters so I know how they’d react in any given situation. I write down recipes I need to make. I love it.

    This was really useful for helping get my thoughts together about turning an undated Wonderland222 into a gaming journal. I primarily play WoW and Stardew and having a bit of a log about what's going on where is helpful as I like to achievement collect.

    I love this! I am new to gaming. Like NEW NEW. I just got a Nintendo switch a month ago and am playing Stardew Valley. It helps with my anxiety for sure. It is so calming. I have several passport TNs and I am planning to make a hobbies TN with two inserts - one for knitting and now one for Stardew Valley. Thanks for the layout inspo. So cool!

    The other thing is gaming hours have been shown to be good for brain function, pain management, reducing risk of Alzheimer's, all kinds of benefits due to the planning, puzzle solving, eye hand coordination, etc.
    So gaming is legit better than mindless scrolling.

    If you're looking to finish more games, I'd recommend considering a steam deck! I'm just like you and put down games most of the time, but the steam deck has revolutionized games for me. It's a bit of a buy in, but I've knocked out so many games since I got mine a year ago. It's great for those little indie gems that are sitting in your steam library that have that "I'll get to you someday" mentality. Video was wonderful, and I'm excited to make my own video game journal now!

    This is awesome! You made the Hobonichi A6 look like the perfect size for a journal surrounding a specific topic. I’d love to see a flip through once it’s complete (no matter how long that takes haha). I love getting sucked into a world when casual gaming and it makes sense to want to write document it. Kind of like how people use daily log / memory keeper for real life experiences. Dang, you got my gears turning.. thanks for sharing!

I thought I was going to use it for my foreign language studies, but I love this idea more! I'm also a gamer and I can see tracking all my gaming; even my stardew valley runs. Even track my Sims 4 legency .. maybe print out lil pics... Thank you so much for the inspiration ! 😊

      theyre both great idea to be honest haha. Because im actually using a hobonichi hon for my language studies! Im making a video on it now lol. Totally agree with EVERYTHING you said. My time line started when I was about 7 with Mario Bros for NES, 9 Yoshis Island Super NES, Super Mario Bros 3 NES (15), Zelda Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, Silent Hill N64 and several others(16), at 17 I discovered Super Mario RPG and actually skipped school to complete it and was my first completed game, later came The Legend of Dragoon XBox 360, Need for Speed Underground and Carbon and then GTA!!! Just recently I was finally able to purchase my own N64 with Majoras Mask and Ocarina as well as GTA and then SIMS 4 PC and BOTW and TOFK on Switch. I now have many more just turned 40 and I can absolutely lose my self in video games but haven’t touched any lately because I am so busy with work etc, I just don’t have the time. Musically my faves are GTA and sounds from ZELDA it’s hilarious every time I hear these on the radio etc and find myself giggling recalling where I know them from etc. also, when I’m lost in my thoughts I hum Mario Bros lol

    • @ThatJournalingGuy
      @ThatJournalingGuy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hahaha the great paradox of being an adult gamer. Finally have enough money to buy all of our favorite games but not enough time to play them haha. I find myself in the same exact position. I ALSO just bought a N64 with Ocarina and Goldeneye again lol. And the GTA radio legit has some of the best radio commentary Ive ever heard. Still holds up to this day haha. I remember I had Liberty City Stories for the PSP and you could upload your own music to the memory card and listen to it in game, all I listened to was Crazy Frog while running people over haha 😂

    I have a gamer question for you: with so many games on your Steam list and other consoles, how do you commit yourself to playing one game to the end, without getting distracted and abandoning it for another game right away? I suffer from choice paralysis and end up playing nothing 😅

      @ThatJournalingGuy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the SAME exact problem haha. The last game I "finished" was cult of the lamb. Idk, it's sort of why im in my indie game phase right now. People always want more and more in a game but 50-60 hours for a game is a huge commitment. These little indie games that provide a full experience in 10-15 hours is much more manageable for me. Specially with my schedule. So when you figure out the answer on how to stick to one game, let me know your secret lol
