Sometimes, especially on harder plastics like the torsos, acetone can leave it shiny or lighten darker tones. I find if you put some polishing compound (like from a dremel) on a facecloth or q-tip and polish the area, and can really help to restore the plastic.

Great tip! I've also seen people using Goof Off instead of acetone and I wouldn't momd doing a comparison to see which is better.
