Watched it and these women are soooooo underpaid for the work they do. The fact they have been gaslighted for years by being told it’s more of a privilege then work is ridiculous. Pay them what they are worth. They would of made the DC a lot of money over the years. Disgusting

Totally agree, why do the players get millions of dollars to throw a ball and run up and down a field, well honestly to me the girl's actually do so much more. They deserve more for there amazing work.
The exposure from this documentary might lead to full-time positions for some of these women. The situation is complex. The precarious nature of their positions-where they can be dropped at any moment-makes it far from a stable full-time job. Despite this, they undoubtedly deserve better compensation. Their work isn’t comparable to a job at McDonald’s; they’re essentially juggling two jobs. Considering their youth, perhaps paying them well during their tenure with the team and allowing for career breaks from their day jobs if they’re later dropped would strike a fair balance. The gender disparity in pay is also concerning; the male counterparts on the football team earn significantly more. As a man, I couldn't do what these women do. They are amazing.
They are substantially under-paid compared to football players. However, it's not a requirement to be on the team, let alone audition. Many have FT jobs, live on savings and assistance from family.
Attention: This is the year 2024 This corporation is not a charity. Stop the tradition of taking advantage of these ladies and pay them a living wage.

This is a million dollar business because of those "volunteers". They should be getting paid. But CEOs in sports are always trying to cut out the people who do the most work, i.e. college athletes.

woah this was so intense and very interesting! I do feel like they deserve a better salary, they are literally ripping their hips because of this job, it's insanely hard work that tears their bodies apart. Just because they are wanted spots doesn't mean the salary should be low. Getting a spot on the football team is also a very wanted position, the salary reflects the work. Cheerleaders are athletes too who work extremely hard so they deserve more than a Mc Donalds salary in my opinion. Other than that real shock, I loved the documentary.

I now see the toll this has truly taken on Victoria. Idk who started her on this journey, but she wasn't treated as part of the sisterhood and I am so glad that she is free from this, has moved to NYC and trying to start a new life. Watch the show, you can tell she has been through it. I wish her nothing but the best.

Being a Cowboys fan.....these women have always been the best cheerleaders in the NFL. I'm not sure how the other teams cheerleaders train but Dallas has a great thing going on. DC4L!

It's not even minimum wage! They aren't paid for "practice" or "getting ready". They're only paid for the time they are on the field or in the stadium performing. I adore the old show and this but its sexist and disgusting how the women who wear this uniform are treated regarding in terms of pay!
well lets be real there, they are for sure underpaid, but by no means the main attraction and sure there is physical issues but nowhere near the risk as a football player. def should be paid reasonably though.

The only reason the cheerleaders are not demanding more pay is because the structures keep them small. If you speak up, you're out. And you can forget about lifelong friendships and being part of the legacy. As a justice grad, I find that problematic.

Every NFL cheerleader makes less than $100 a game. I think they make more if they’re on special teams.

Kelcey is stunningly beautiful and has an amazing aura, she just stands out. Anisha not making the team is a crime, a terrible mistake. They are athletes on their own right who should be paid as such. Getting 3 hours of sleep per night and barely being paid is nuts. These girls should be able to do this as a full time job if they want to. Like at least have the option too, it takes so much time and they all end up getting hurt too. A mess.

1st off! Let me tell you! I remember watching the tv show and them talking about the lack of pay back like 15 years ago! Fast forward to today they talk about how much these girls have brought so much money, for the biggest Football team in America with a revenue of 9 billion! While these girls STILL getting paid dust! That it should be a privilege to be on the team???? Dreams shattered, complexes! They really showed their A$$e$ in this one! SO frustrating watching last night. These Girls are very talented all while working jobs and breaking their necks for them? Nooo maaam! It was frustrating to me. Then making a girl stay another year because she got cut, to tell her she was TOO SHORT literally at the end of tryouts? lmao

I was a faithful watcher of DCC Making the Team since it first aired. I was so upset when it ended. Beyond happy that Netflix picked up this new series. It's sooo good. A little "F" up to see more behind the scenes. These girls work their butts off for pennies.
Yes; pennies. But they want the connections and experiences to accompany the pennies.
Some return year after year so they know what they are getting themselves into, for better or worse.

We see you’ll for just a few seconds a game, but you do charity events, ring oh honor and star signings, sorry for little pay, tough schedule workouts, and I know it’s tough the last year! This doesn't get a lot of attention. Feels like cheerleading as a sport is being underestimated. The rehearsals might look like a no-brainer, but they've all put their all into every single one of their performances. This isn't for fun only. This is their lifelong passion.
I have tried cheerleading in my humble hometown and I have full respect of the beauty and athleticism of what these girls go through. Simply being good at dance as an individual does not cut it anymore. Cheerleading has been very much a very technical and complex thing, not to mention while maintaining the creativity and aesthetics of it.
On EPISODE6, minute 6 to 7, I deeply felt that they we're not given the respect that they deserved.
Yeah, the tour guide basically encouraging the guys to contact the girls via social media pissed me off!
That part was disgusting. I have been on this tour before. I don’t recall if it was the same guy (although I do specifically remember him asking people to pose in front of the girls’ pictures so maybe it IS the same one) but I don’t think he made that creeper comment on the tour I went on, probably because there were women and kids in it. That dude is delusional anyway if he thinks any of those girls would hook up with him. 🤣 I’m sure he doesn’t really believe they would and he was probably just trying to be funny but the comment was creepy and gross and made him look all kinds of bad.

Many of these ladies are more famous and popular than the footballers and yet they get nothing as wage. They get injured, they have to battle with their inner negative talk, build up self esteem daily all next to their day jobs. Incredible will power 👏👏

I was a Cheerleader for Clemson University. Those girls were amazing and I was the captain. The girls are like sisters in sorority. We’re still connected even after graduation.
This show is basically the same thing over and over again, but I am very happy there's going to be a new season. I've actually missed those girls and am glad they are continuing. Netflix was smart to pick up this show.
This docuseries was very eye-opening. I have a newfound respect for these ladies.
But no respect for Jones, Finglass or Trammell.
Im on the second episode and i just love Victoria. I think however that being a DCC is not good for her mental health, she seems very fragile
I kept wanting to reach into the screen and give her a hug, I hope Victoria doesn't re audition and just finds it in her to walk away and take a break from all things DCC.

David here I watch all seven episodes and I thought it was very interesting, I hope someone here leaves their thoughts on the show. I have mixed feelings if they are taking advantage of the ladies??? Because of the lack of pay. They know that the ladies want to be a part of something bigger than themselves and the organization uses that to their advantage. It is such a short lived title, one year at a time. You could see how they could get addicted to the fame. I don’t know why I am surprised that it has become a Mother Daughter tradition. It has been going on for over 60 years. It seems a lot like the beauty pageants. They really know how to market them with Barbie dolls, calendars and T shirts. I hope they get paid something for doing the calendars. All the best to them 😊 I hope there dreams come true!

Just watched this fantastic documentary series. These women are incredible! All the hard work they put in, it’s absolutely amazing! The blood, sweat, tears, and more tears put in translates beautifully on the field. Two things I definitely took away after viewing, first the Thunderstruck bit is definitely my favorite! Especially the kicks at the end, pretty fuckin’ epic! Second, it’s very safe to say that the future of Kleenex Brand is safe and secure. Great job ladies! I highly recommend this series!!

One of the girls was favored because her mother worked there it was clear she was poorly prepared but she passed because of her mother and much better girls left

Truthfully there is so much pressure for these girls to look a certain way to And the fact they go through all of that and they don’t get paid enough is crazy . I only know about the Dallas cheerleaders when they have some shots being shared on TikTok and Instagram about how they hype up the crowd. Now this documentary really open up my eyes. I’m in Asia so I have no clue how they actually operate. Glad to watch it. Wish a change for these girls

I’m like 20 minutes in and stopped watching because it pissed me off. Disgusting. How about they ask the football players to play for the love of the game with no compensation. Obviously I’m not saying they need to be paid millions like the men, but they should be paid more than a chic fil a worker.

For those generally into these kinds of Docs…. Just watched one on Peacock that was massively entertaining. I’m not even a pro sports viewer. But I find these docs addicting.
Especially those that do somewhat of a Deep Dive into a specific season, infamous moment, general league history, or Team/Athlete bio, etc.
I recommend y’all check out Peacock’s 3 parter on the 1990’s NY Yankees, one of their worst seasons ever. Tons of fun stuff there .

She and Wil did get married, earlier this year... Very weird situation there. Clearly she's very religious, which is fine, but there's something else going on there. Lack of maturity? Don't know, but something's off with her. He seems like a nice guy, but clearly knows he's marrying way up the ladder.
Victoria though... I felt really sorry for her. Definitely has stuff to work through, I hope she gets the help she needs and finds peace. I think her mom royally screwed her up.

These women are very talented and driven and they all seem like really good people from good families. They are a large part of that franchise for sure and especially in the past 10+ years when the football team has been a bunch of choke artists in the playoffs. Ridiculous that the Jerry Jones and his tone deaf daughter cannot step up and at least pay these women a decent salary. I’m talking like ~50k a season. Or whatever is enough in DFW area so they can support themselves without having to slave away 12+ hours a day and work another job on top of their DCC schedule.
I really like these cheerleading thing, in my country we don’t have this on schools or colleges, like anywhere in general. It’s fascinating.
I use to adore or fascinated by cheerleading when I watch hellcats and bring it on. Now not so. I’m from Asia. And then I thought watching this can bring back some fond memories of those movies, but this documentary is so horrible to watch! Exploiting these young girls making them work so hard and then suffer from health issues later while getting paid peanuts. And those Karen-like management is also horrendous, shaming women, and kicking them off the team like it’s so gleeful to do. I could have sworn their faces somehow enjoyed that. Sick old women.
I really like Judy and Kelly. This show doesn’t need Charolette’s or her daughter’s input. I’ve watched it for years and don’t remember them. They bring unnecessary tension to the decision making progress.
