Awesome video. I think the importance of what you guys teach is the simplicity to hunting that truly makes it enjoyable. Not to be confused with fact that turkey hunting isn't easy or simple. It's about just getting out there and enjoying being out in the woods hunting. Another key piece I take from this video is the piece of taking folks with you. So many people get bad info on having to go out and buy a ton of gear that super expensive then they go out and don't kill a bird and hate it. Teaching folks to just get what they can afford will make them have a better experience. I've hunted public land for turkey before but only in my state. This year though for the first time I am traveling to 4 different states maybe 5 to public land turkey hunt. Can't wait. Will be doing it by myself. But hoping in my state to take a couple of new hunters out on some private land to try some turkey's and get them hooked! Keep up the great work guys!

I have used a single shot 20 gauge break for over 7 years for turkey and love it. It's great out to about 25 yards with a full choke barrel. Shot a good turkey every year I've been out. And never underestimate turkeys. They can be a real challenge to fool when overhunted every year by all turkey hunters. Love it for the time I'm out there and do a lot of deer scouting while I'm turkey hunting. Always try to think ahead
Awesome, informative video. It took me many years to figure out how to use the rise as cover. I’ve killed a bunch since. I have an old Hastings break open 20 gauge. I killed a couple does with it, back on the early 90s, and a pheasant. This video makes me want to bring it back out again, for this coming turkey season
That’s awesome he snuck right up on ya. Yeah turkey hunting the last few years has been a struggle in central VA for me at least. I’m hopeful this year will be better and I can call one with in 45-50 yards.
This clip is nice reminder that you don't have spend a lot of money to get started turkey hunting. First time I turkey hunted, I called in a Jake with a box call. I thought to myself this is easy, & I let him walk. 3-4 years later when I finally shot my 1st Tom, I realized letting that Jake walk was a mistake!
When we started hunting, all of our hunting was a "Walmart challenge"! lol The beauty of hunting and fishing is that you don't have to have much money to have a good time. Well done!

They make a stock recoil pad to help with turkey loads in a light gun. I shot many turkeys for years with 3 inch and #6 shot due to more dense pattern, but I switched to number 4 shot and even went down to 2 3/4 hi-brass shells cause much cheaper, less recoil, but still plenty of power. Another wonderful side effect was that #4's tend to blow all the way thru if they strike the breast. Also, if a coyote shows up, 4's work. Single shot was kind of cool due to having a vent rib.
if you take off the stock you can get to a screw to adjust the trigger , i did that to mine made it a lot better just don't over adjust or it won't punch the primer with enough strength
Some of those single shots are improved cylinder are even modified. My grandpas turkey gun is an old single shot thats deadly. But another plus to those that a lot of folks don’t realize is a lot of times the barrels are longer since there aren’t any mechanical needs like a pump or semi-auto.
