I too was a farrier for manyyy years. Draft horses use to kill me if they didn't want to stand still. Pushing 70s today. I didn't know about a farrier chute, but obviously the best way to go imho. They are enough work by themselves, vs fighting with them. One day I drove a nail n he reared up n jerk n made the nail rip a hole in my inner thigh about 2 inches plus deeply, a big hole n scar. I just kept shoeing horses as I didn't have a choice. I was able to stick two fingers together almost to my palm. I never got it looked at, but it obviously healed without infection. Thank you Jesus.
