You might be able to make designs for nails by using Shrinky Dinks. You draw/cut out a design, put it in the oven, and then the design shrinks. So you could use it for charms/decals/stuff to put in aquarium nails.
They would be too thick, but great thinking

This might be possible with thinner shrinkydinks! I have experienced soms thinkness difference by different brands
A lot of clear take out lids are shrinky dink plastic! Look for a #6 stamped on it.

I used to make aquarium tumblers and always used oil based food coloring to color the baby oil. It will combine better and make the liquid clearer! It really only takes the tiniest bit to color a lot, though.❤ I have also used alcohol inks to color the oil, but let it set out a bit after mixing to let the alcohol evaporate out of the oil. ❤
I’ve been looking for good oil based food coloring specifically for this, do you have any brand recommendations?
@Nonnitot I have a variety from Wilton's, Colour Mill, Chef masters, and some off brand that I've bought in sets from Amazon. All have worked really well. I usually buy the little individual ones to try different brands, but didn't notice too much of a difference. I have also used oil based paints, but they are more opaque, and you can't see what is floating as well, which works great for things like the milk bath effect. 🙂

Yay! Aquarium nails! These are all beautiful! I love them all, but I think the silver one is just SO pretty. The ocean nail is so vibrant! I really like that one too! And the crystal ball is very bold and dynamic! Tough to choose a fave.

Just when I thought I couldnt love your nail art more, the teensy alien!! The soup! I keep my nails super short but if I had the skill and patience to create things like this, I'd learn to live with aquarium nails and have a great time. Awesome video!
The ocean nail is my fave I don’t mind the cloudy look it gives off a cold temperature effect. This pinky nail is my other fave !
Omg, I have the coolest idea for these aquarium nails for Halloween!! You could make Wet Specimens of organs or frogs,bats,wierd carnival freakshow types of specimens!!

I love the alien and the crystal ball! The alien idea is great!
A few tips. I make resin liquid shakers, so biggwr but the same principal. Avoid fine glitters, they tend to stick to walls and dont fall/move as easily. Bigger heavier glitters like the stars and other shaped glitters work very well. Caviar beeds, small beads and femo shapes work very well and can help move the glittera about. And youre doing right by leaving rhe bubble ☺️ i love all these, i think the last one with the gold borders is my fav 🖤✨

@@rationalskeptic1 thank you for asking! I was just looking for this comment. In shakers it helps move the glitters around. However I was so wrong about nails, it actually hinders the movement in smaller spaces like the nail tip. So actually the bubble needs to be as non existent as possible in the nails. I've just tried this myself and learned the hard way 😅 bigger glitters and caviar beads are still the best to use, I still stand by that ☺️

If you want to color the baby oil, you *have* to use a liquid like food coloring, alcohol inks, etc. It fully mixes with the baby oil and doesn't get cloudy

I have been following Sydney for many years I love her! So cool to see you using her nails. I actually don't think these are 3D printed, I am pretty postive she hand makes these herself, at least she did at one point not sure if that has changed. But she is so creative all her nail designs that she does by hand are incredible!

They come with directions and best results instructions for a reason love. That means the person who made them have done the trial and error for what’s best for their product. Adding the builder gel will not only help with keeping them from getting bendy it also helps them to be clearer.
The top coat will also make them clear, the instructions say the builder gel helps with long wear

After seeing your designs, I was thinking a "Magic 8 Ball" nail, would be so cool, with these tips. I haven't come across any, but that would be cute. I thought of doing some kind of Hasbro set. Each finger being a different game and then the Magic 8 Ball would be a cute addition with them. Every time I watch your videos, it inspires me. ❤

The principle with any sort of colourant is needing to know what it is soluble in, or else something like mica won’t disperse as it is water soluble.
As someone who is studying to become a cosmetic chemist, I’m always looking at every bit of information with any ingredient I use… but you can always find colourants that are soluble in different liquids!
I actually really like the alien one, even if it doesn't really move. It does really look like he is floating in formaldehyde. So Cool ❤
I loved this video. You girls are always to hard on yourselves. Just like learning to dance or drive or whatever, it takes some practice. I just love watching the process. And, it just gets better and better. I couldn’t believe you managed to get the whole alphabet in one nail. LOL If you have some left can you make more of these?

i think the alphabet soup one could be improved by gluing a couple letters to the inside of the nail, and then having a couple free-floating. that way people could see the idea a little better. these are fantastic though. ive always wanted to try aquarium nails, but it was way to difficult to pull off, so i never got very far with it. ill have to order these! thanks!

I bought these tips as well a couple months ago and love them ! I got a bunch of little coloured pearls or the bubble things lol also starfish, jelly fish and mermaid nail stuff turned out super cute !
Had to snag some before you sell her out 😂 I'm SO over making my own tanks. I'm going on a cruise next month so these will be PERFECT for the ocean nail design I've been wanting to do. I think maybe alcohol ink would work a bit better for coloring than pigment.

I know nothing about nails , but I have noticed that the bigger the air bubble , the less it moves. Your last aquarium nails moved nicely (probably) because you made the air bubbles small.

My husband and I saw a literal hole in the sky where we could see stars at like 1 in the afternoon, and a cigar shaped object came into the sky from the hole. We watched 6 US Air Force jets pursue this thing back and forth across the sky for 20 minutes. The jets would get close and it would like vanish until they passed it, then reappear until the next pair of jets got close. The jets kept passing it because they couldn’t fly as slow as it was moving. Talk about crazy! 👽🛸 The tiny alien was so cute. Impressive sculpting!❤These are so cool.

They are cloudy because of how they are made and u have to file them. Another creator had the same exact issue. I just thought about how about painting the inside clear BEFORE filling them in. 💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️💁🏾♀️ Worth a try.
