My great aunt who lived to be 98 years old, washed her clothes by hand in a wash tub in the kitchen sink she did that from childhood. Her clothes were in excellent condition. Afterwards she would line dry them outside. When you said that you don't cover your pool since you are in Arizona. Here is why people cover their pool. They do that so in winter or overnight if it gets cold the pool won't get cold and freeze.
