I now have the Moto g stylus as a secondary phone to my iPhone 11 and it just doesn't feel the same. It has a bigger screen but it has terrible viewing angles and it just makes me appreciate Samsung's a series where at least they have amoled screens. The Moto g used to feel thick and sturdy and now it's just thin and slippery, not to mention the plastic construction which just makes it feel even cheaper. A glass back and amoled screen would've gone a long way with this Moto g stylus, not to mention the lag and stutters the Moto g used to not have. Back then it just worked. Everything just worked. The plastic back and LCD screen was perfectly fine and even impressive in 2013 for a phone in that price range. Nowadays there are $250 Android's from many companies with either amoled screens, glass backs, or both. LCD and plastic construction is honestly head scratching for a 6.4" $300 Android in 2020. It's still a decent phone and obviously has many improvements over the original Moto g, but after 7 years, I just feel like the Moto g would've been so much more if Google never sold Motorola. The Moto g would've been the pixel 3a, pixel 4a. It would've been the cheapest way to get a reliable, up to date, stock Android phone that just worked. Just like the iPhone, everything would've just worked. If Google never sold Motorola, the Moto g would b rivaling the iPhone xr and 11 in sales right now.

I find it strange to recommend this in context of activation deals because pretty much any major US phone release these days will have a generally comparable deal if one is willing to make the commitment (usually not much of a deal at all in the long term, of course), so I wouldn't really consider it a major bonus. So after watching your review of the Moto g 5 plus so many years ago, I pulled the trigger on it and am happy with it, even like 3 years later. It is sad to see that the Moto g line is not what it used to be so thank you for this good quality reviews! Once this phone dies, I'll probably go for the pixel 3a or 4a when it comes out.
I'm surprised with the lag you experienced - I have had a refurbished Motorola one vision for a few months now and it feels fast and I experience very little lag. Maybe because it is on Android one? Or is the exynos 9609 just a better processor?
I'm just gonna say that out of everything I've seen, the LG V30/35 has my absolute favorite screen to body design of any phone. Bezels thin enough to be modern and thick enough to house the camera without looking ugly.
Man, it has been 2 years since i've subscribed to your channel, and so the way you narrate your videos is really awesome. You are really the best when it comes to this stuff. Quality over quantity. Road to 1 million mr. Mobile. Almost there! God bless
I wish Moto would just stick to a strictly-midrange concept and not try pushing boundaries. The more they try pulling themselves up, the more blunders there are. G4 Play was fantastic at what it wanted to be. G4+ was solid (assuming overheating problems didn't screw you over). G5+ was a damn good budget choice. G7 Power is fantastic at what it wants to be. Every time they try doing something "new," they end up stumbling.
2 outstanding moments on this one, the breathtaking hospital bill for pneumonia. Hate America for this and second when you trailed off your speech at the laggy processor speed. It was so well written and so brilliantly modulated. Hats off , @mrmobile
If the stylus is just a metal tip does this mean that it works with any capacitive touch display? Coz I would buy the stylus alone for my nokia 7 plus.
If I was able to get my hands on a new Android smartphone for under 2 Benjamins, that would be moneytastic. I used a Moto E years ago for app dev and enjoyed it - it wasn’t a flagship, but it got the job done (and apps responded fairly well).
Just got the universal unlocked version off eBay for $179. I take notes and make sketches constantly for my job, outdoors in the wind, so a pen phone is a must for me. I am done with Samsung's terrible cell reception in the woods, period. This is the best alternative to the Note over the LG stylos. SD card, stylus, headphone jack, large battery, 4Gb ram, good camera(s) and cheap to replace, this is the phone for me.
MrMobile......I'm torn between this phone and the Pixel 4a, that is coming out. Currently using a Motorola Pure, just outdated. I watched both your reviews, and I guess between the two, you'd choose the Pixel 4a, yes? Would you say the Pixel has a better camera overall, even though it's just one camera?
How about an updated review on the 2024 model, as I am considering a phone purchase update this year. Come on Mr. Mobile, even if its a small review. So far have made two good purchases on your reviews 🙂
I chose it over the Pixel 3a specifically because it had a headphone jack and sd card slot. I don't approve of phones without sd card slots given how quickly you can fill up that storage. Now will I buy a phone that requires bluetooth (and another item needing charging) just to listen to music, which is what I primarily use my phone for anyway.
I think you were incredibly harsh on this device. This is been a fantastic device and I've had notes for yearsand this is highly comprable especially you neglected to mention the high storage capacity that's expandable and the 4 gigs of RAM for the processor with makes incredibly effective when it comes to multitasking. I'm a TH-camr myself and I use this device and making my videos.
The Moto G Stylus unlocked is $199.99 ($100 off) on Amazon and on Motorola's website as of today Nov 5, 2020. Aside from the iPhone SE2 for $249.99 ($150 off) on Boost Mobile, this Moto G Stylus is the best Android deal out there.
Great to hear/see you are up and running again FishFace! You know you want to drop a review of the new hardware of those hospital beds! (unless you got stuck with a 1996 model)
Great review. Your videos are always an excellent watch. I love Moto budget phones. If you don't need the latest and greatest hardware they are an affordable option, and as you mentioned carriers offer great deals on them. I recently picked up last years Moto G7 Supra model from Cricket for $20. You can't beat that.
The only thing I wish Moto can do is "the go back button" in menu bar can be placed at right hand side. Or at lease provide option for users to select just Samsung does.
You're telling me it costed 55k USD for 4 nights of pneumonia treatment? Holy moly!!!! When I was in 7th grade and I caught dengue, I got off easy with just 6 nights, 5 days with only what is equivalent of 700 USD!! Anyway, man, hope you're doing good now. All the best
I think this was my first Mr.Mobile review I really didn’t enjoy. It seems you had it out for this phone from the onset. You almost canned the entire review, really? Sure the display isn’t the best, and the speakers could be louder. You fail to mention that this phone has many LTE bands and makes a great roaming phone - an underrated feature imo.
I'll tell you why I'd buy a Moto G. Battery is awesome, especially in the Power series ( I own the G7 Power). It blows out the water anythig else I've used. And I've had multiple high capacity-battery phones. When sitting idle it goes days without needing a charge. Software is good. I have no problems with it to speak of. Being a moto, it has the Gestures, which I really like. I rarely use the camera and can't speak of Merits/Flaws I can use an SD card as Storage for Apps.

I'm surprised with the lag you experienced - I have had a refurbished Motorola one vision for a few months now and it feels fast and I experience very little lag. Maybe because it is on Android one? Or is the exynos 9609 just a better processor?
Watching ur 1st video..
Really disappointed
Not even mentioned about pressure sensitivity..👎
Theres 0 pressure sensitivity, its just a stylus.
1:40 he talks about pressure sensitivity
I'm just gonna say that out of everything I've seen, the LG V30/35 has my absolute favorite screen to body design of any phone. Bezels thin enough to be modern and thick enough to house the camera without looking ugly.
I have the same opinion. Still loving my V35.
Is that a UV disinfectant at 1:17 ?
Yep.
Hmm. Wouldn't prolonged use of uv on your phone result in the materials degrading? (Especially plastic)
Love the honesty bro, 1 million subs my friend 👍
I cant tell wether this video is a joke or not...i feel like he is being sarcastic
Would you go for the Moto G Stylus or LG Stylo 6?
Wait did this dude also Got Coronavirus
That's exactly what I was thinking!!! Michael, please tell us if you're 100% recovered.
@@goldvideo I was just curious when he said that he had pneumonia.
Hope you're feeling better Mr Mobile! What's the name of the song at 0:42? Love the 80s vibe!
lol has anybody heard of the LG Stylo!?
He unfairly hates on LG every chance he gets which sucks.
RIGHT?!?! None of this is new! LG has had a line of cheap stylus phones for YEARS
I had the stylo 1 and 2. Very good phones.
Yep. Remember that when I worked at radio shack.... Okay that was only 4 years ago but yes.
Doesn't that have a 4 series snapdragon and way more resolution than it can handle
Man, it has been 2 years since i've subscribed to your channel, and so the way you narrate your videos is really awesome. You are really the best when it comes to this stuff. Quality over quantity. Road to 1 million mr. Mobile. Almost there! God bless
Stay fishface, my friends!
Your video was... FABULOUS! I really enjoyed the edits, audio, lighting, and content 👍👍👍
Glad to see you're doing better, wish you a well recovery. Thanks for the video, take care
Just got this phone. Will b a great secondary phone to my iPhone 11!
149.00 to 199.00 , all I can say is WOW, that is a budget deal!
Glad your doing better! Stay safe out there.
Great video as always. Glad to hear you’re doing better. Where did you get that black mask?
really glad i watched your review on this before pulling the trigger. wanted to get new phones for my folks & now i'm leaning towards the galaxy a51
I bought it for 149.00 at T-Mobile and I love it
2 outstanding moments on this one, the breathtaking hospital bill for pneumonia. Hate America for this and second when you trailed off your speech at the laggy processor speed. It was so well written and so brilliantly modulated. Hats off , @mrmobile
Always waiting for the G.O.A.T Reviews ♥️
So I have a question. Is it better to buy note 9/8 or get this phone? In stylus experience
I have iPhone 12 and Moto E. I love gadgets. I saw your Razr review and every other. I love that phone.
If the stylus is just a metal tip does this mean that it works with any capacitive touch display? Coz I would buy the stylus alone for my nokia 7 plus.
Kudos for doing videos on the real budget side of phones. Would really like to see what you had to say about the Android One Xiaomi A3 at around 180$.
If I was able to get my hands on a new Android smartphone for under 2 Benjamins, that would be moneytastic. I used a Moto E years ago for app dev and enjoyed it - it wasn’t a flagship, but it got the job done (and apps responded fairly well).
The Pen Up app is a great art app too. This is my 2nd/backup phone. My main phone is the Galaxy Note 10 plus.
Great review! Thank you!❤
Haime Rivera being in the intro was real slick 😎
Thanks for the video. The question I am asking myself is why am i just now discovering you? you are now my best phone guy.
Michael, I'm glad you're back to work stronger than ever. I like your video a lot.
Thank you for sharing your pneumonia experience.
So far have made two good purchases on your reviews 🙂
iphone SE, 4.7" screen. Google Pixel 3A, 5.6" screen. Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power, 6.4" screen.
Whenever his video pops I get ready to watch as if I'm going to watch a movie...😍 dedication in creation
Good to hear your voice better again
Great review. Your videos are always an excellent watch. I love Moto budget phones. If you don't need the latest and greatest hardware they are an affordable option, and as you mentioned carriers offer great deals on them. I recently picked up last years Moto G7 Supra model from Cricket for $20. You can't beat that.
The rear-facing action camera is brilliant. I hope other manufactures take note.
Amazing video
I can listen to you review anything. Just love the content.
I rarely use the camera and can't speak of Merits/Flaws
I can use an SD card as Storage for Apps.
