- A new season starts, teams from all around the globe are joining the circuit. For the first time in the Golden Trail Series, runners from Kenya will take on the mountains with hopes of being as fast as they are on the roads. The legendary Zegama is finally back as the opening race of the season, the show is guaranteed.

Unfortunately recent doping cases of Mark Kangogo and Esther Chesang - winners of last year's Sierre Zinal (plus few other road running Kenyans) put into question the whole movement of Kenyans to trail running....
Absolutely devastated me, there is doping in all sports and I really believed running was untainted😔
Yes, let's only talk about doping when we see Kenyans. Nobody bats an eye when Maude Mathys (who's been caught doping) is breaking course records and winning most races. So many American road runners are doping as well like the disbanded group 'Nike Oregon Project' but hey, let's only focus on Africans right? They're easy targets.

Unfortunately the doping incidents that were revealed with the Kenyan runners really put a damper on them and this series. The series organizers need to do more to prevent it.
Until the sport and this series in particular require WADA testing, both in competition and out of competition it is hard to believe athletes are not cheating. Please, for the sake of the sport get a comprehensive drug testing policy in place.

Shame that some of the talented Kenyans are scammed by European agents with bad intentions leading to doping.
Don’t put the blame on Europeans, the Kenyans know exactly what they are doing with doping.
That’s not necessary doping, but you can easily find top runners in Kenya , but agree with you if the price money is starting to increase we will have the same situation as we see on marathons with a guy from nowhere close to the world record a 23 years old!! This is doping for sure, when you need money to survive it’s not like in Europe
To be honest the doping amongst Kenyans is so widespread I think we need to accept its part of their culture. But if you have confidence in yourself to win and compete for a podium then you wouldn’t dope and risk it.

The Kenyans are prolific cheaters, on the same level as Russia. They are the only ones to blame for all of the doping!
I don't know if I'm the only one but I didn't like the format at all... Not going to watch this series...
