After grinding for about about an hour and a half I finally managed to get sub 2:40. Some tiny optimisations here and there improved my time by 6 seconds from my previous PB, and I'm very happy with the result. Of course this can be improved upon but I'm content with this time for now.

I have modded weapons but if u have an infinite pistol u can easily do it with a 3 man squad in like 2:50 I’ve done it in 2:10 mins but with modded weapobs
First time I got into Harran Prison it was by accident and it took me 1 hour to complete it. This run is VERY impressive

Doom is one of my favorites and I constantly compare this to Doom or even some modded versions of Quake, I'm glad I'm not the only one making the connection

I highly encourage anyone to get into speedrunning Dying Light, as there are multiple categories for both long and short runs.
I've listed my speedrun guide as well as the items I use for this in the description. The outfit I was wearing is the Night Rider outfit from the Retrowave DLC.
EDIT: A lot of people have been asking about how I lockpick so fast: Lockpick positions don't reset unless you leave the Prison Island or quit to menu. So with that in mind, I did a practice run to learn the locations of the lockpick sweet spots, then in subsequent runs I knew exactly where they were to quickly get them.

@@ToastyIX Any% is probably the hardest of them. But in terms of what is the best time, Prison is certainly one of the harder ones to get a good time on.

@@kamrat5305 Completing them for the first time as a new player is probably challenging, especially when the player isn't aware of the speed boost from parkour moves.
@@kamrat5305 Yes you are right, and I'm saying ,,hard" because in fact it's the rarest achievement, only 1.2% of poeple globally have it, i mean the one in wich you have to complete them at night. For me it was a bit challenging because my game dosen't run too smoothly, and because of the night and it's dark :))

This lockpicks on doors are allways same spot? and also i like to watch chest opening as well
The lockpick positions don't change if you don't leave the island or quit to main menu. So the first time I ran this, it was a practice to learn the locations of the lockpick sweet spots. Once completing prison, you'll be placed back at the start, and the lockpick spots will remain in the same spot, so in subsequent runs you'll know exactly where they are.

Wow. I didn't know that lockpicks are on same spot, therefore I wanted to suspect you, that you're some kind of cheater. But now, when you explained I have no words. Just fckn awesome. My first run took me about 1h : 50 min😁 I died a hundred times, fought with every enemy. Then I saw some vids with potions and improve my run until Guru Reward which gave me some strong gold weapons. But your run is on another level. Congratulations 👏

A Person Lockpicks don't reset unless you leave the Prison Island or quit to menu. So I learnt the positions before recording the video in a practice run.

LeadCodpiece This is free DLC as part of 12 different DLCs they’ve added in to the game. There’s no mods in this video.

I have played this DLC without knowing and it took me more than 3 hrs and still stuck with the two demolishers.

It happened back in 2018, me and my brother used to share the computer, but he sold it after getting married, i was pretty much the only person who played dying light, i used to do everything for fun, as the pc wasn't mine and i had no way to record stuff because my phone was also not with me, i did not get any proof which is indeed really sad.

Kind of a stupid question but how do u get the lock pick right every time first try? Is it like something you need to install or just pure luck lol
I remember my first ever run. Less than a minute to get to the first big open combat room, it looked similar to your start but a bit more casual. Took me an extra 3 minutes from there because one guy refused to come out of THE WALL and I had no way to kill him
Aussie if you don’t mind me asking when you would slide for the speed boost from kuai dagger how did you do that it was like you were slide canceling cause you were getting the effect but not sliding is that understandable?
I have slide set to toggle and I spam the crouch key over and over again to slide and then instantly cancel the slide again.
My first try took around 28 min

Dude thats insane! Btw how do you know the exact lockpicking position? Is it the same on each replay?
The lockpick "sweet spots" don't actually reset or randomise once you finish Prison. They only reset if you quit to menu, leave Prison Island or do anything else that re-renders the map. So when you do a practice run through once, you'll know the lockpick sweet spots since they don't change.
Though note that the double gated door counts as two locks, despite being a single door. So the left and right door have separate locks, though I just mainly focus on the left one to remember that.

i tried to get a sub 8. in the final infested room before the outside section, i threw a zaid flare by the door, like you did. but, i still got attacked. do you know why this is? i honestly don't know how it failed to act as a safe zone for me, even while it was active. it lead to my death and having to respawn, and to kill everyhting in the room, since i tried to throw it again 3 more times, each time, still getting attacked.
Sometimes if the flare is too close to the door, the volatiles will ignore it. I like to use two just to be safe on casual runs sometimes.
@@AussieGG makes sense. I'll have to try again, when you try to throw it quick to avoid being hit, it can be hard to be precise, so I'll try to improve my accuracy next time

Edit: best shotgun i have is a purple rusty shotgun which is a double barrel so its very slow
The engraved semi auto shotguns can be found in shops once you reach max survivor level.
