I sometimes wonder if cheating is genetic.. because I have friends who also cheated and one of their parents did too.. divorced parents etc .. my parents are together and claim to have never cheated because it would be "too much effort" according to them and I feel the same I'm extremely loyal and expect my partner to be too..

its probably social. Kids who grow up seeing their parents cheat often feel that its normal, like emulating behavior, and so it might lead to them cheating as well. Its a behavioral thing, and I'm guessing w the mom letting her get away with everything and knowing her mom cheated, she felt it wouldn't be a big deal. So if kids experience abuse as they grow up, they might see it as normal and even comfortable cuz its what they are use to. If they see a parent promiscuous, same thing, feels normal and comfortable. still a piece of crap tho
The mother and grandparents were pure evil. The OP's decision to go no contact with the mother, the grandparents, and Claire was perfect. How can OP not be on the dad's side.
Your mom clearly chose your little sister over you when she manipulated you not to tell your dad the fact that you know she knew all that your sister did and was doing yet clearly did nothing shows you from 18 or however old you were when you moved out you should have went no contact it was as simple as that but you kept toxic energy around you so close in fact she had a chance to cancel YOUR baby shower why were she and your sister even invited the first time
Basically when op and little sis (Ls) where kids, Ls confessed to op and mom that she is acting out because the moms parents are putting Ls up to it. Mom told op she would handle it. Op thought that would involve dad (idk I'm projecting rn probs) but essentially, nothing came of it And Ls abuse continued with mom's silence and mom's parents encouragement (assuming on that last one) But Ls is an affair baby and mom suspected/knew but swept it under the rug to have her own "bio" child, who knows if mom's parents knew/didn't care.
Great karma to spread the truth of the intolerable cruelty you have suffered ever since you were adopted, first by grandparents that never relented and then the depraved brainwashing of your sister and the totally toxic cruelty of your adopted mother…..
