First. thank you for uploading the truth.
I am a 32 year old Korean, living in Seoul.
I was praying to Lord about this issue of sexual immorality, tired fighting? spiritual war everyday.
I know Satan is out there, trying to attack my weak spot every moment he can.
I believe God made me watch this video.
Right after watching, I bent my knees and repented how disgusting my sexual immoral sins were.
I confessed I am weak by myself and asked Lord to fight with me and be with me all the time.
Sometimes, it is very impressing or.. strange how our Holy father replies to our prayers.
    Thank you Tim for sharing.
    From Seoul, South Korea.

I am praying for you to maintain victory over the attraction to sexual impurity. Be strong and vigilant in the Lord Yeshua Messiah. Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (easier said than done) by always remembering the price that Christ paid for our redemption, we can overcome. Pray and give thankful praises whenever you are tempted, and you will be strengthened to resist sinning. The sexual forces are the only sins that we can never be done with while we remain in this body. God knows our struggles and will give you the victory, in Yeshua's name.

Did you hear the part about the Advocate that we have in heaven? That is Christ Jesus ever living to make intercession to the Father on our behalf. But brethren, do not use the grace of God as a license for licentiousness. Get it? We are sinners saved by God's infinite mercies, but God is not mocked. He knows our hearts and feels our struggles, as He lived as one of us without sin. He is familiar with temptation, yet He always overcame the temptations victoriously. With His Holy Spirit living in us we have the ability to forsake sin.

How can other know that what they're doing is wrong if no pastor deliver a message of repentance to them. Preaching like this I will always open my ears to hear it cos it's encouraging and it's useful for anyone who has ears to hear. Even if it's a message for me I won't mind. Because of the love of God He will not let the believer get away with it and God will discipline and discipline even onto death.

Thank you for this great message.
I have a situation i need help with. I'm very uncertain about my own salvation at the moment.
I acknowledge the facts about salvation, but it seems like i do not have a saving faith in Christ.
I have desires for Christ at times but overwhelmingly i'm in habitual sin.
I'm too lazy and casual with sin and feel like a hypocrite, and that perhaps i've decieved myself about being saved.
Looking at my life, it doesn't seem to resemble that of a true christian and thus there is a lack of certainty in regards to my salvation.
If i am a false convert, i want to have true repentance and saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
If anyone could pray for me and/or advise me i'd appreciate it.

Get in the Word, attend Church, continue or become part of a Bible Study and press into God. Pray and ask God to show your sin, name that sin, confess and repent of it. Set safeguards up to keep bearing fruits of repentance. Its a battle, my brother and a battle you dont fight alone.

Everyone struggles at some point with these thoughts, but the fact that you want to have a saving faith in Jesus means that the Holy Spirit is convicting you of where you need to change. Whatever areas the Holy Spirit is saying you need to change or give up do that - the difference between hearing and doing is the difference between obedience and disobedience. He is faithful to present us spotless before The Father - like the words of that wonderful song - Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. God Bless you and help you to live a victorious life.

I have mixed feelings on your approach to this. As someone who is warring with this issue, I really liked your previous video on this subject, as you gave some good tools for the Christian to use. Your straight up legalistic approach is not at all empathetic, and is dangerously close to driving someone deeper into doubt or even unbelief. As a Christian who is constantly working on my sanctification, I can tell you some battles are easy, and some are hard, but one has to fall back on Matthew 11:28-30. God has led me out of lot of things and continues to work on me. Up to the point that he convicted me of my addiction to lust, I thought I was doing very well, and also became pharasitical in my approach to other believers. While our Father has the ability to deliver anyone from anything, He also has been known to allow people to be or continue to be afflicted. He humbles us this way, and uses our affliction to mold us into a better version of ourselves. Psalm 107 is a good reminder of how God will allow us to struggle and even, at times, deliver us over to evil, to get us where he wants us to be. It is truly a matter of heart. I do not debate the Word of God as it stands on its own, in Glorious perfection. Just please be careful in how you deal with subject such as this. My personal testimony is that my struggles go back some 40+ years, and I continue to, and will continue to war against this sin until I am delivered. I do believe that Jesus is my intercessor and his blood washes me clean. I battle my flesh so that there may be less of me and more of Him! I am strong in the Lord and see what your intentions are in this sermon, but we are losing believers every day to the lies of the enemy telling them they’re not worthy, their not clean, and they will never be good enough. We are to be a hospital to the hurting, and the hopeless. Lest we forget. I know where I came from and I will never forget what my God has done for me.
    May you bless God!

God's recently blessed me with such sharp discernment of spirits that I instantly know and feel in my spirit when demonic spirits try uttering lustful thoughts in my mind, to the point where I can easily distinguish my own fleshly, carnal thoughts from demonic influences. I rebuke them soon as this happens and they typically go right away unless it's a very powerful principality in which case I have to begin worshipping in song and praising Jesus and they almost always go away once I do this. Since God inhabits the praise of His people (psalm 22:3), the demons must leave since they can't be in the light of His presence.

It gets intense at times. The thoughts have been coming in times of prayer and Bible devotion. That's another way I know these thoughts originate from an outside source. It's like, the demons literally try to impose their own filthy thoughts and feelings directly to you and its so important we understand these moments as demonic attacks because assuming they're your own thoughts can lead to a passive attitude from assuming it's a normalcy to experience and think these things. If a soldier isn't aware he's under attack, how can he put up a proper defense and counter attack strategy?

And absolutely my friend. You said, “the thoughts have been coming in times of prayer and Bible reading” I’ve dealt with something very different than thoughts while praying and interceding for people and it’s only happened once, we must get into the habit of fasting and praying, which was something I rarely do so far, the sexual thoughts haven’t been as bad so far. :) I only did it for 2 days and I already feel great. A person either possesses the Holy Spirit or they don't, no matter the failure or victories. If you are grieved over your sin and grieved over failure after failure, it's likely the Holy Spirit is convicting you, likely you belong to God.
It is the blood of Christ that saves us, not our works and not our victories or failures. What I'd recommend is to gather a small group of Christian friends and confess your sins to one another, married and single. Be compassionate to one another but hold each other accountable on a weekly basis. Pray for one another. And meet with Christ on a daily basis, have no anxiety about anything, but make your requests to God. His peace will keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
I've been through all of this and failed for the most part. I was redeemed. I can tell you why I think that. Now, I rarely have sexually immoral thoughts and I suspect it is because my testosterone levels have fallen from where they were when I was younger. So, yeah, I'm pure in this area. But, I wasn't for most of my life, but I was redeemed. I'd confess my habitual sin. At times I was grieved over my failures.
Don't think God doesn't love you, brother or sister. Keep persevering in your faith. Don't give up. He loves you. Remember that. Come to the Father and ask for His mercy and love. He won't reject you.
I failed in this area most of my life. Yes, I was redeemed. I failed to do what I am recommending above, to get in a group and hold each other accountable, until I was age 49. That works. Pray for one another, confess your sins to each other in this group. Been there done that. It works. And if you feel you are being tempted beyond that you are able, call someone in the group. Have coffee with them or something like that until the temptation has passed.
Pastor, does your church have accountability groups? If not, why not? That is what your people need. Yes, renewing the mind with good thoughts, that is needed for sure. Bathing in prayer and the Word, daily. But, you need more than that. I'm very surprised that most churches in my city have no such groups. It astounds me. It tells me that the Shepherds really don't care that much about their sheep. Just preach the Word and let them flounder on their own. Yeah, that works.
A loving, caring Shepherd provides protection for his sheep so they don't go astray. I wonder if this Shepherd is of the reformed theology group? Doctrines of Grace? It seems it is this sect of the Christian church that is overboard on the preaching of hell, etc. Note I'm not saying such preaching isn't necessary. I'm saying that this sect is "overboard" or out of balance with such preaching. I heard little about God's love in this message. Reminded me of the church I was in when I was a teenager. Pretty soon I tuned it all out, even though I had to sit through it every Sunday. Is this the way I'd treat my own children? No way.
One last question: what's your own track record Pastor?

No metaphorical "eyes and hands," slice it all off, become the maimed eunuch and take your camel through the "eye of the needle"...conversely, repent of vain works, believe in Christ, receive His Spirit of power, love and self control and practice righteousness, not sin.

Absolutely!!! God says ALL sins will be forgiven men if repented from! The only unforgivable sin is the rejection of God’s plan of salvation. That’s called the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The only sin that can’t be forgiven, is the one that rejects Christ’s offer and gift of salvation.

Funny I just watched that video last night by James of - I’ll be Honest. It’s been sitting in my recommended for you section for ages and I finally decided to watch it. It was a Very powerful video. I don’t believe I have any issue with sexual immorality as the old man did, beside the occasional demonic attacks, which I now recognise and quickly confess repent for, but James video can be applied to a great many sinful behaviours which plague many a Christians life and mind. Often these things are a constant battle in our minds.
But if we just keep at the forefront of our minds the enormous sacrifice that was made for us on that cross and the ETERNAL penalty for sin it gets easier each day.

Hey Tim, I just watched a video you did on Sexual Immorality, and you discussed what Paul said about putting to death the deeds of the flesh...well you made no provision for those who do put to death the deeds of the flesh still will fall back into it at times, which does not mean that if we do sin we wont inherit the kingdom of heaven...Jesus knew we would not be and not able to stop sinning and that's why he said to the adultresses accusers that whoever is without sin cast the first stone, and they all left.
If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the flesh, is what the Spirit is leading and guiding you to do, however is unattainable as Paul stated in Romans 7. You leave sinners condemned, not convicted to continue in Repentance accepting Grace and Mercy which encourages sinners to seek Holiness and Sanctification from God to continue putting those deeds of the flesh to death, there are so many that's why we have a lifetime to to do it...You seem to still have a stone raised above your head mate...I could stand scripturally corrected if you could care.

@@justanothersinnersavedbygr7267 Ok, your comment spoke of feeling condemned by the pastor, so those aren’t my words. I just simply replied to them accordingly.
Yes, I don’t doubt that the Spirit convicts you of your sin, as that is what He does, “convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.”
I suppose I’m curious to understand how it is that you hear *condemnation* from the Pastor whilst everyone else (that I had read at that moment) took his words with conviction, grace and gratitude, is what I am asking you. It seems that you are resistant in your comment. That’s how your words are taken by someone, as myself, reading them. I am reading your comment and that is what I’m hearing. I’m only responding to what you were saying.
The book of first John is a letter that describes who truly belongs in the kingdom of God and contrasted by those who are in satans kingdom. Struggling with sin is not the same as being a slave to sin. Someone being a slave to a besetting sin is one who cannot stop doing what he knows is wrong, and that is because that is the nature of us in our lost condition. Struggling with sin is one who is actually finding victory in their once besetting sin. I don’t claim to know you or your situation, only you and God do, so it’s really only something you can choose to be honest about with yourself and God as you examine yourself. Scripture doesn’t mince words. People tend to just misapply and misinterpret it so as to justify themselves, however that isn’t helpful to the lost as only the truth sets men free. Christ Jesus says that any man who is free, is free INDEED. Are you *free*? It’s only a question for you and you alone to answer with God. I’m not condemning you. I hope you are not getting that from my words. I’m only stating what scripture teaches us-
“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭2:3-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
      The Children of God-
“And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭2:28-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It continues to teach us -
“And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:3-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:2-5, 18-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When a woman who sleeps with her boyfriend is given the position of praise and worship leader in a church, It just goes to show how ignorant some churches are towards the laws of God and his commands for humanity and our behaviors.
I used to teach praise and worship, and was considered “unworthy” of being a part of her praise worship team when I started going to that church.
Such are the reasons why many churches resort to theatrics, special effects, and smoke and mirrors to try and cover up the fact that the true Holy Spirit is not among them.

Excellent message! Antinomians they are for sure. Rarely a pastor even knows that term, so good to hear it from Tim. So we are all guilty of adultery in some way that when we get born again, we need to consider the woman forgiven by Jesus and told to "go and sin no more". I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at 45 years old, and within weeks the Holy Spirit told me I needed to repent of adultery which was having premarital sex with my husband of 22 years. Yes, HE had it all written down, and by His grace, He was showing me what to confess, ask for-forgiveness and forsake. The reason I write this is that there are LARGE numbers of people who are in church, but they are deceived that are not adulterers when they are in a remarriage. I know the Scriptures well because my husband divorced me and remarried within the church, but God has me "set apart/sanctified" to not even think about getting married again. Marriage is ONE man to ONE woman for life, and only God ends the marriage by death. John the Baptist knew this and told Herod and Herodias which is why he was beheaded. My husband left me and the kids in 2006, right before my baptism, and the Lord woke me up in a sexual dream and said, "Not even in your dreams." I have had maybe three attacks by Jezebel in dreams, but I found myself calling on the name of Jesus in the dream. There is power in the name of Jesus.
Brethren, it is almost impossible to find a pastor who will tell you the truth, that if you are in a second marriage with a living first spouse (you were also their first spouse) it is ongoing adultery. Repent and stop the illegal marriage before it is too late. I even know a widower who married a divorced woman and within six months they got a divorce because they realized it was adultery. The widower can only marry a widow or a never married woman. This is the Trojan horse issue within the church. Do not be deceived!!! Hosea was married to a prostitute. When you stay sexually pure, you are intimate with Jesus, and sometimes He reconciles a marriage after divorce. I had a friend who I told the truth of the Bible to, and after praying for her first husband for about a month, he called her asking to reconcile when they had been divorced for 21 years (she had remarried twice). They are thrilled with what God did for their family!!! For thirteen years, I was in a San Antonio-based, international Bible study that used to teach Scriptures like Romans 7:1-3, Mark 10, Luke 16, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11,39, but they finally gave in to the divorce and remarriage culture and have divorced and remarried people in leadership. That means then that you are being put into sin of 1 Corinthians 5 by eating and fellowshiping with adulterers who are claiming to be brothers/sisters. I just can not do it. I care too much about obeying Jesus' commands and teaching others to do the same to love Him and please the Father. I have a lot of information on this with a playlist of over 120 videos that teaches correct doctrine if you are interested. God bless ya'll.

Susie Q Well, I’m pretty sure pastor Tim would tell me that I should have joy because it’s one of the fruits of the Spirit. Sometimes I feel like I’m not even saved because things aren’t perfect. As I mentioned my life is just now starting, and I’m dealing with the overwhelming shame, and embarrassment of wasting my life. Some of it is due to prescription meds that truly harmed me that I began taking at 13 years old, and a lot of it due to rampant sin. I hadn’t had a hair cut or trimmed my beard in 7 years. I was a recluse for approximately two years before I was saved. I had no friends, no job, no real experience, no significant other, no children, no life, and no hope. I was an absolute wreck. My honest plans were to remain drugged from medication, and high from booze, and cannabis until my parents died, and then I was going to hang myself. Anyway...I have a few church friends now, but no one my age. I have two parents that are believers that never gave up on me and never stopped praying for me that God used to keep me alive this entire time. I’m praying for a life while on this earth, and some joy. I hope and pray you can have some joy, too. Christ is my only hope. God bless you.

@ 32:17 ; Yes, one needs to believe, but they need to repent. Repentance shows up in one's actions. If one is still sinning, it means they haven't really repented. Simple. All the believing in the world will not help because even the demons believe and tremble. So yes, it's not about works saving a person, but repentance is all about actions (and/or inaction), not just what you intend in your heart, or say with your mouth at the moment, but how you live! Jesus said, not everyone who says "Lord, Lord!"will enter the kingdom of God, but those who DO the will of God. How do we know if we or anyone is saved, or is a true Christian? It's not what you call yourself, or what the world calls it, but by their fruit (how s/o lives). That was/is Jesus' criteria and it should be ours as well. So one may have a special date of when they came to Christ, or was born again written in their bible, but it doesn't end there. It is only the beginning and it is a relationship where we constantly repent and are washed and made holy and we trust and believe that God is making us holy. The proof is in our lives whether we have truly repented and died to ourselves and have the Spirit. If you are sleeping around, or living in anyway contrary to what scripture says and calling yourself a saved believer, you are self-deceived and are in danger. Pray to God to show you your sins. He will do it in the perfect way, not too harsh, not too light but in love, customized for you because He loves you and will discipline those He loves if He sees you need it. I speak from experience. Sexual sin is a sin that is ignored. Those who take it seriously are thought of as odd, or prudes or even crazy. It's hard to stand apart in this world, to stand for Jesus.

    • @gmac8586
      @gmac8586 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jjjj-ss8dq I can see the confusion. When Paul says we're not saved by works he's saying that we cannot earn salvation. If we do works because we have repented and believe through faith that we are saved we're no longer trying to earn salvation on our own strength, but our joyful response to Christ's loving mercy moves us to act and to do good works. It also removes the fear of not measuring up. Giving and good works is entirely voluntary and not necessary for salvation. It simply becomes a motivation out of love and an empowerment to to good works through the Holy Spirit. James explains how our good works is a proof of our love. Still it can be difficult to do because it all begins with our attitude and on how much faith we have. Actions often begin with an attitude or a motivation and in that sense it can be hard to tell whether our motivations are correct. With God, anything is possible, for us it is impossible. Many people fall into this sin because of abusive backgrounds. Lack of parental support in the Word leads many children to become exasperated by lack of love. Young men and women then become sensual without Godly love. It requires much self reflection and struggle until victory. Every child in a family must have a personal bible and should have read it before they reach puberty. Amen, God sanctifies His people through threatenings. Revelation 22:11

I used to struggle with lust, especially as a single Christian..i feel the concept of sexual immorality is a paradox.. on one hand sex is natural and good within a marriage..but on the other hand, if you are not married you may not sexually express yourself in any way (sexual thoughts, masturbation..ect)
Most people will never get married and God doesn't owe you a spouse..I eventually got to the point that I felt the only feasible way to overcome sexual desire was to hate it...now I literally don't even desire sex or affection bkus I've successfully convinced myself to hate it...1

Just for clarification on the antinomian. The antinomian has no use for the law. The believer who says we don't have to keep the law to be saved is not antinomian. The true Christian has the highest use possible for the law. We believe the law must be kept to 100 percent perfection. We believe it only Jesus who has done this. That why he is the perfect sacrifice for us.

    • @illbehonest

Just one question: Do the verses themselves have that double edge as well? For example, if I go to a verse like 1 John 3:8 - Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. How does that verse sound? The statement sounds strong, but if I clarify that John is NOT speaking about perfection, but rather about a clear change of direction, that is me trying to clarify. Yet when John states the verse in his context, he does not balance it out. All that to say we need to speak how the Bible speaks, and that is what Tim is attempting to do in this sermon.

Where to find the Gospel and the plan for salvation thanks

    • @talyahthekingsdaughter37
      @talyahthekingsdaughter37 3 ปีที่แล้ว

This is the gospel- “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”
      ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The most important thing to understand about the plan of salvation is that it is God’s plan, not humanity’s plan. Humanity’s plan of salvation would be observing religious rituals or obeying certain commands or achieving certain levels of spiritual enlightenment. But none of these things are part of God’s plan of salvation.
God’s plan of salvation - The Why
In God’s plan of salvation, first we must understand why we need to be saved. Simply put, we need to be saved because we have sinned. The Bible declares that everyone has sinned (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8). Sin is rebellion against God. We all choose to actively do things that are wrong. Sin harms others, damages us, and, most importantly, dishonors God. The Bible also teaches that, because God is holy and just, He cannot allow sin to go unpunished. The punishment for sin is death (Romans 6:23) and eternal separation from God (Revelation 20:11-15). Without God’s plan of salvation, eternal death is the destiny of every human being.
God’s plan of salvation - The What
In God’s plan of salvation, God Himself is the only one who can provide for our salvation. We are utterly unable to save ourselves because of our sin and its consequences. God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14). Jesus lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 3:5) and offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice on our behalf (1 Corinthians 15:3; Colossians 1:22; Hebrews 10:10). Since Jesus is God, His death was of infinite and eternal value. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross fully paid for the sins of the entire world (1 John 2:2). His resurrection from the dead demonstrated that His sacrifice was indeed sufficient and that salvation is now available.
God’s plan of salvation - The How
In Acts 16:31, a man asked the apostle Paul how to be saved. Paul’s response was, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.” The way to follow God’s plan of salvation is to believe. That is the only requirement (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9). God has provided for our salvation through Jesus Christ. All we must do is receive it, by faith, fully trusting in Jesus alone as Savior (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). That is God’s plan of salvation.
God’s plan of salvation - Will you receive it?
If you are ready to follow God’s plan of salvation, place your faith in Jesus as your Savior. Change your mind from embracing sin and rejecting God to rejecting sin and embracing God through Jesus Christ. Fully trust in the sacrifice of Jesus as the perfect and complete payment for your sins. If you do this, God’s Word promises that you will be saved, your sins will be forgiven, and you will spend eternity in heaven. There is no more important decision. Place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior today!

      God's Plan of Salvation

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.
This passage tells us that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son, Jesus Christ. In other words, the way to possess eternal life is to possess God’s Son. The question is, how can a person have the Son of God?
      Man’s Problem
      SEPARATION FROM GOD
Isaiah 59:2 But your sinful acts have alienated you from your God; your sins have caused him to reject you and not listen to your prayers.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
According to Romans 5:8, God demonstrated His love for us through the death of His Son. Why did Christ have to die for us? Because Scripture declares all men to be sinful. To “sin” means to miss the mark. The Bible declares “all have sinned and fall short of the glory (the perfect holiness) of God” (Rom. 3:23). In other words, our sin separates us from God who is perfect holiness (righteousness and justice) and God must therefore judge sinful man.
Habakkuk 1:13a You are too just to tolerate evil; you are unable to condone wrongdoing.
      God's Plan of Salvation
      THE FUTILITY OF OUR WORKS
Scripture also teaches that no amount of human goodness, human works, human morality, or religious activity can gain acceptance with God or get anyone into heaven. The moral man, the religious man, and the immoral and non-religious are all in the same boat. They all fall short of God’s perfect righteousness. After discussing the immoral man, the moral man, and the religious man in Romans 1:18-3:8, the Apostle Paul declares that both Jews and Greeks are under sin, that “there is no one righteous, not even one” (Rom. 3:9-10). Added to this are the declarations of the following verses of Scripture:
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not of works, so that no one can boast.
Titus 3:5-7 he saved us, not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.
Romans 4:1-5 What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, has discovered regarding this matter? 2 For if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to boast about (but not before God). 3 For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness.
      God's Plan of Salvation
No amount of human goodness is as good as God. God is perfect righteousness. Because of this, Habakkuk 1:13 tells us God cannot have fellowship with anyone who does not have perfect righteousness. In order to be accepted by God, we must be as good as God is. Before God, we all stand naked, helpless, and hopeless in ourselves. No amount of good living will get us to heaven or give us eternal life. What then is the solution?
      God’s Solution
God is not only perfect holiness (whose holy character we can never attain to on our own or by our works of righteousness) but He is also perfect love and full of grace and mercy. Because of His love and grace, He has not left us without hope and a solution.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
This is the good news of the Bible, the message of the gospel. It’s the message of the gift of God’s own Son who became man (the God-man), lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sin, and was raised from the grave proving both the fact He is God’s Son and the value of His death for us as our substitute.
Romans 1:4 who was appointed the Son-of-God-in-power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 4:25 He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made the one who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the right-eousness of God.
1 Peter 3:18 Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.
How Do We Receive God’s Son?
Because of what Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the cross, the Bible states “He that has the Son has life.” We can receive the Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior by personal faith, by trusting in the person of Christ and His death for our sins.
John 1:12 But to all who have received him--those who believe in his name--he has given the right to become God's children
John 3:16-18 For this is the way God loved the world: he gave his one and only Son that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him. 18 The one who believes in Him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
This means we must each come to God the same way: (1) as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness, (2) realizes no human works can result in salvation, and (3) relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for our salvation.
Paul writes in Romans 10 :9-11,13. verse 10:9 reads- because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. 11 For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. bible.org/article/gods-plan-salvation

As far as sexuall impurity, again Jesus standard was not some level of pretty good. His standard is perfection. That why he said even if one look at a woman lustfully he is an adulterer. So if tim would be consistent he would say there would be no men get to heaven.

    • @illbehonest
      @illbehonest  ปีที่แล้ว

You are corrected that the Lord's standard is "perfection" and how is it that one achieves this perfection legally? It is by faith in Christ--we receive His grade of 100 on the test, and He pays for our sins through his death. Romans 5 says it is by this one man's obedience that we are made right. So yes, only perfect people go to heaven....and the only way to be legally perfect is through Christ--so Christ is our only hope.
Now, why do true believers live differently? Because they have been born again (Ezekiel 36:25-27, 2 Cor. 5:17), they are new creatures with new desires (Romans 6:17). This does not mean perfection, but a clear change of direction.

Pastor Tim, can you PLEASE explain 1:05:30.....? What kind of person are you talking about? Me and my brothers always say praise God because we love the Lord? How is it sickening and fake? I've never once met a false convery or unbeliever that would use the term "praise God", unless of course they are mocking.

    • @illbehonest
      @illbehonest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yes, we should praise the Lord always and rejoice in all circumstances (1 Thes. 5:18). But as Tim said there is a type of person who says "praise God every 5 SECONDS..." they are people vainly repeat a spiritual cliche phrase to appear a certain way. So Tim is no way condemning those who say praise God, the issue is: is it genuine or not? And the fakes often give themselves away by their vain repetition. Matthew 6:7 - "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words." The religious person who often uses these empty phrases is not doing it to mock God... but rather by their hypocritical life, and fruits, you see that they are mocking God. Luke 6:46 - Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?
