yeah. He said in an interview with Tim Ferriss that he saw bodybuilders/actors doing things that they were not comfortable with due to a lack of funds. He was determined that it was not going to happen to him.
When he was getting into amateur competitions, he wrote out a 50 year plan..one of the goals he listed was to be a millionaire before 30..he made it two to three years ahead of schedule. While other actors were waiting tables between gigs, Arnold still had his businesses and his freedom. He is incredible.
If only "steroids" were as magical as you claim. There is responsible use and abuse but you only hear about abuse. It's more than likely Arnold has for the most part lived a clean life. He doesn't eat shit, he doesn't abuse his health, he's always been active, and has great genetics coupled with testosterone and maybe some other substances. It was pretty obvious Arnold and Stallone were always going to age better and be in better than than the average person in their 60's and 70's
I read Arnold's Biography, the entire reason the film industry picked him up was because in the 70s he was heavily promoting Body Building Championships. Trying to get the word out, so he bought time on a talk show. Showed up and talked about Body Building. People thought body builders were idiot neanderthal people. Arnold not only impressed them but got them interested, plus he had such a huge physique at 6ft 2 and 250lbs people couldn't stop staring at him. The dude had the money to buy a few minutes on a talk show just to advertise his business. Imagine what you could do if you could save up and just buy some time on a talk show!
Graham Bensinger Yeah more investment interviews please! This and the one with Barkley talking about Jordan and stocks are my favorite two 🤗🤗 and the Kelly Slater one now that I'm thinking of it 🏄🏿♂️
Nathanb, nothing wrong with having grey hair when you're fucking 70 Arnold's desire at that age to color his hair while leaving zero grey in fact makes him seem insecure - he's not 30

Schwarzenegger was a millionare before he was in a movie, before bodybuilding took off. Schwarzenegger was ALWAYS going to be a success. He plays himself up like a buffoon, but he's shrewd as fuck.
He was not a millionaire and not even famous until he played Conan in the 1980's. Pumping Iron documentary was 5 years earlier abut nobody remembered him a few days after watching it.
***** Yeah, he was a millionare. He rented out a bunch of apartments while having a a successful construction company. Nobody said anything about him being famous, being famous isnt synynomous with being successful.
Arnold looks great! He looks younger now than he did 7-8 years ago! This guy has one of the most inspiring stories ever told! Truly a man one should model! Especially when it comes to work ethic and mindset
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a born businessman!! Intelligent, shrewd and balanced, with immense self confidence and will-power, Arnie is a self made man, who broke from the shackles of penury to become a champion bodybuilder, Hollywood celebrity and a multi-millionaire, and not to forget, the Governor of the richest US state!
He had $ 26000 and paid $ 240000 for the apartment building where did the financing come from ? I think that anyone who had somebody bank rolling them back in the 70s would have been just as successful.
so if the math adds up he paid basically 10% downpayment financed the rest $214,000.00 the average home mortgage interest rate was 8.5% when Arnold probably bought his building at age 23. arnold came to the usa in 1968. from what i can calculate the average mortgage rate in 1970 was around 8.50% assuming he got the 30 year mortgage he would need to pay $1869/month (with property tax/home owner insurance) if just principal and interest 1,645.47/month. from what i can find is that the average cali rent in 1970 was $126/month. so if arnold had 5 units he would only collect around $630/month. he would need to make up for it with his bricklaying business/mail order business/seminars.
I can not believe how young Arnie looks here. He's put on some size, grown some facial hair and got rid of at least 50% of his bouffant hair do and it's taken years off him.
I think he got here in the 1960s. Lots of people retain their accents, for some reason and with Arnold it is a bit of a trademark, so he probably doesn't want to lose it entirely.
I live in Wisconsin and met a guy yesterday out on the mountain bike trails. Had a thick accent so I asked where he was from and he said Poland, but he's lived in the US for over 30 years. Apparently it stays with you.
He came to the US well past the Critical Period in linguistics. You can never fully lose the accent of your mother tongue if you emigrate in your teens or later.
Funny, in his book Arnold admits a real estate lady went out of her way to explain every housing segment in L.A. and she was the one who set him up with his first apartment building. It wasn't his nose, it was a CONNECTION.
I also made my millions in real estate. I started off with a unit and today have a portfolio i could onli ever dream of. Driving my lambo, reminds me of what i did to get to this stage.
He wasn't happy in Austria. His dad was not nice to him. He barely knew his older brother. There were no opportunities to get ahead in sports in Austria.
sneakers and a suit, not to mention white sneakers is appalling. No one said money means class. After the bubble burst after the recession how much did it go up?? A TOTAL VALUE OF $1.2 MILLION DOLLARS!! Even the property I have in North Park, that’s way smaller and in no way is gonna appreciate that much, went up more than $500,000 value after the recession! So, hopefully there aren’t a lot of Gen Y or Gen Z kids out there watching this video and going, “Wow! $26,000 is dirt cheap!” In the 70s and 80s it was SERIOUS cash!! I put about $26,000 in bitcoin and I’m seeing it go sky-high as an investment now so if I wanted to I could cash in everything and officially retire at the age of 40 or 50 if I wanted to! (I’m 38 now.) That’s awesome Arnold had the common sense and willpower to not blow all that money on cocaine and hookers and strippers, like a lot of dumbasses would! Arnold rocks!!
The shame in this great short clip of Arnold is that most people will miss his message. He was a millionaire off of commercial real estate even before he made his 1st movie! Imagine the Terminator being your landlord and coming by to collect your rent money. Arnold: “Rent is due.” Tenant: “I get paid tomorrow and I swear I’ll give you every penny!” Arnold: “Okay, I’ll be back.”
Definitely is not dead take LA for instance... its rent controlled but as a landlord you're allowed to increase 3 percent yearly... if you find a complex that is at least market value or under you're going to make money as long as you're good at managing your property ... you say that now but all you have to do is think of the guy 10 years ago saying the same thing
Fascinating that he was a millionaire even before he came into movies or joined politics years later. This guy is amazing!
California especially LA real estate was insanely profitable during the 70’s.Prices were doubling or tripling every few years.

the financing came from the Bodybuilding Mr Olympia money

who is Arnolds fashion designer?

In a corny sort of way. It's like dressing up an old man in skater's clothes. In a way they look younger, but it's also painful to look at.
