    Nice review.
Great looking model, loads of detail and openings. Love the purple paint too.
I guess these will appreciate in value (or at least hold it in real terms), but also, depending on ow many LCD make, it could ease pressure on the autoart values a bit.

autoart needs to come back strong. I don't mind the composite models, but the old ones were so much better

Great review as usual! I just wish they went the extra mile instead of using the Aa as a blueprint and therefore copying its flaws. $200 is a great price for it, I saw the green one today at a local retailer for 350€...

Are you suggesting that they used an AA mold? If so, how can I verify that?
Also, local retailers are always (almost) have higher prices due to the overhead that online retailers don't have (rent, insurance, etc.). The advantage of local retailers, the good ones anyway, provide much better customer service, allow you to inspect the model prior to purchasing and in general support the community in which they serve. It is a dying notion but I like the fact that I can go and have a conversation directly with someone local. The relationship goes a long way which adds value to the purchasing experience. Finally, sometimes we overlook the fact when we buy online, the $200.00 does not include shipping & taxes/VAT which is some circumstances ends up being higher than the local cost.

@@diecastden I doubt they used the actual original mold if that's even possible (would have to buy it off Aa I guess). But the overall look of the body and certain details are almost identical between those two to the point it's hard to justify saying it's just a coincidence ;) There are other examples of recent models suspiciously similar to Aa's greatest hits that also happen to be very expensive as 2nd hand like Polar Master's RX-7 or Super A's Lancer Evo. So my guess is that LCD went the same way and scanned the Aa or made a negative out of it for its own molds to speed up the manufacturing process. Which if true is a bit disappointing since they've proved time and time again the are able to make a stellar model on their own.
When I said 'local retailer' I meant EU, the one I specifically meant is in Germany and it's an online retailer. Sorry for the misunderstanding, this one's on me. I agree with everything you say about the true local ones, unfortunately as far as I know there are no brick and mortar hobby shops left in my country :( All we have left are model markets happening from time to time. I actually started mapping the shops I stumble upon or find during my travels on google maps to make people aware of their existence.

The original Mclaren F1 had a tool kit of titanium for light weight. Amazing details in that model. Goes a long way from the original 1 18 diecast by Maisto in the 90s.

Thank you for the review, this model looks pretty amazing and seems to compare very favorably to the AutoArt. If you don't mind my asking, was this purchased online or from a local dealer?
I'd love to get one of these some day but pricing seems to be all over the map, is there any online retailer that has good pricing and is trustworthy? Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you!

Online. Your best bet would be to purchase from any dealer that has been in business for some time and has good reviews. I cannot endorse anyone directly. Of course if you can get one from some one local, that is preferrable.

I got the green one to compare it to my white autoart one, and it is an awesome model, the quality is top, but in the end, I will stick to the autoart for personl preference.

Stick to it meaning you will sell the LCD? I did go back and take a look at the AutoArt and there are some things that I think AA did better (luggage, steering wheel) but there are advantages to the LCD as well (interior minus the steering wheel, paint). I am just glad they have a product that is a worthy alternative.

@diecastden yes the price is the main advantage. For the quality you get on the lcd, you will be completely satisfied. And yes, I sold my lcd model to a friend already.
