Just came back here after a couple of months just to say thank you Lucas coz this alg is friggin awesome, it's now my fastest and favorite pll. Do an R' instead of R3 complaints just don't get it, if you don't practice, then obviously you won't get it and in the end, you're the one ending up just missing out something great
That’s a very fast alg,I used to use that, and I can execute it in around 0.5 seconds, but the problem is the reset that you have to do prior to the alg, that’s why the top speed cubers all use R U gen U perms and that’s why I switched to them too
adding a couple moves to an alg is easier than wasting a quarter to a half of a second just regriping, this alg is for the faster ones, if you don't want it, then don't
That is basically the algorithm that Lucas wanted to change from. Both algorithms are essentially the same but one has an R3 and the other has a R’. The R3 is actually a cool finger trick.
Try instead rotating the cube to that the last layer becomes the right face and doing U' R U' R' U' R' U' R U R U2' (the mirror of the usual counterclockwise U-perm executed at a different angle). This has no regrips. The mirror of this also works well for the other U-perm.
instead of an r3 why not an r'? edit: It is quicker to adjust to and reorent your hand for the r3 so you can smack that u' r' and then that u without movement. or so i found.
An even cooler version Place the U layer so that solved side is in front (R U R' U')(L' U' L U) Now opposite(U R U' R')(U' L' U L) I don't use it but it looks cooler.
Hi I'm a new cuber I just learned how to solve a Rubik's cube is been wondering what the thing is called that lots of Cubers do and it's some type of algorithmic that turns the right, top, bottom, right etc something like that and it seems impressive and then it ends up in a A perm it's hard to explain
I am not talking about u perm instead I am talking about the 2x2 algs used in 3x3 you may notice in the nar s video 2x2 algs takes more time for example 9 sec
I use R, Ui, R, U, R, U, R, Ui, Ri, Ui, R2 for an anticlockwise U perm, and Li, U, Li, Ui, Li, Ui, Li, U, L, U, L2 for a clockwise perm. I've done this in 0.7 seconds, although you might be able to go 0.4 down, because I'm not the best at actual speedcubing. Or compared to you.
no, R3 is not the same as R', the result is the same but the hand motions are different, which is the key. he chooses to do an R3 in order to set up the best speed and flow.
This is easily my favorite u perm, still don't understand why people are saying "just use r' instead of r3". I don't think they understand the point of this alg and video
I use this U perm: M2 U M U2 M' U M2
ST cube Israel i think it's really slow
ST cube Israel same. I never liked any of the R algs
ST cube Israel same
+dominobuilder100 It's certainly quite fast once you get used to it.
same
The magnets are so strong lol
All these new cubers freaking out over an R3 😂
Mr Shenanigan R’ ;)

This U perm is actually the fastest u perm ever in your last comp right???
Clockwise:
M2 U' M U2 M' U M2
Anti-Clockwise:
M2 U M U2 M' U M2

Imo this is safer.
This is so nice and easy to learn as well. As someone who is only just starting to learn PLL, this is a really great tutorial. Thanks a lot!
I like the R3 part. Its looks very cool when you do it fast
ughaluhgh the sound of the cube it gives me chills on how perfect it is
This is one hell of an algorithm! It works great for me, 100%. Thanks for sharing, Lucas!
thanks Lucas for showing us the same alg that like everyone knows, never would've known
hi
but there is a regrip at the beginning of the alg usually. probably MU would be faster in most cases.
i dont know why people dont use MU U perms...
Because of the OLL case - it can sometimes be easier to start an RU alg.
Because a lot of people find doing M difficult
Chris Dueck at first doing M moves were really hard i would either use a shuffling technique or idk but after I got used to it it was easy
+ZEKLUSE Big cubes. MU is a massive pain on big cubes. 2Gen moves are then only real option there.
The 'regular' U-perm only has one real regrip before the final R' U R', this seems cool though!
+Kim Jokinen Yeah. Most of the time there is one after OLL too.
lucascube I found a new t perm which uses R2 moves it goes like thise R2 U R2 U' R2 D R2 U' R2 U' R2 U R2 U
R2 D' U'
Rafael Lunod That alg is crap, standard is way better
Some guy that cubes I know I just wanted to show another way to do it
+Rafael Lunod Could be useful for oh.
Btw guys if you're having trouble with the R3, just use R' it does the same thing, but it adds a regrip
feliks zemdegs uses the same alg but he does an r' without a regrip
@@goldninjamonkey2332 most of his algs are garbage
Instead of an R3 just do an R'
Nexxus 3478s that requires a regrip
Tim_y_the_cuber_guy but I think moves are getting wasted.
yeah
adding a couple moves to an alg is easier than wasting a quarter to a half of a second just regriping, this alg is for the faster ones, if you don't want it, then don't
Ayush Jesu Do you know how fast an R3 actually is?
I know this algorithm but I do r prime instead of r3
That is basically the algorithm that Lucas wanted to change from. Both algorithms are essentially the same but one has an R3 and the other has a R’. The R3 is actually a cool finger trick.
you can avoid the regrip when doing R2' U (R U R' U') (R' U') (R' U R'), you just need to do the second R' with your right thumb
Thanks for the u perm Lucas! I just figured out if it's counter clockwise you can just do it with your left hand!
I don't regrip with the standard one...
Can you teach me how to solve one side?
Any ideas for a nice CCW U perm fingertrick?
Asking because mine sucks, and I can't really figure out a better one.
Do u know any non re grip g perms
This, my friends, is a thing beauty and Lucas even plays some lovely triplets at 1:30 and 1:35. #rhythmbaby 🥁🤘👌😘
Is the R3 the same as R'?
in result, yes, in speed, no. for this specific set of moves, the R3 reduces regrip and allows for faster motion of the alg as a whole.
Sucha an amazing alg Lucas this helped me so much and got me a 23.11 solve
For the R3 awkward part wasn't super awkward for me because it felt like a Gd perm a bit. Very cool lucas
Thank you so much!!this tutorial was very helpful and now I can solve the cube fast because I replaced my old algorith with this. Thanks again☺
Can you make a video on the u perm algs with the bar in the front
Valyrian Drew brads has a great video on all the plls
George Scholey I wanna see Lucas insight on it
in this algorithm I actually regrip instead of the R3 it worked for me :D
That is a quiet cube.
How do you do the reverse U perm?
Wouldn't R3 be the same as R'?
whats the m3 for? cant u just do m'?
how do you feel about mats valk getting your recored
I made up an algorithm where you hold the bar in the front and go: M2 U M' U2 M U M2 (For a clockwise rotation just change the Us to U's)
Try instead rotating the cube to that the last layer becomes the right face and doing U' R U' R' U' R' U' R U R U2' (the mirror of the usual counterclockwise U-perm executed at a different angle). This has no regrips. The mirror of this also works well for the other U-perm.
Why is it R3?
Dude sounds like John Malkovich. Nice alg and damn fast execution.
Can someone please explain the reasoning behind R3, as opposed to R'?
Is it supposedly more fluid? What am I missing here...?
If you do r’ you need to do a regrip to do the rest of the algorithm due to his current hand position
If I ever do it, I use the normal Alg you showed in the beginning but with a different finger trick. It’s very weird but it works pretty well!
Can you upload a fast last layer solving
Can you do a video on all your timed plls?
Thats great now I can do that instead of taking 2 extra secs to solve it and I subscribed
Can you use an r3 with the other U perm?
It's really surprising how well this works, I'm definitely gonna try it out for a while at least because my U perm fingertricks kinda suck
why an r3 not just a r'?
what cube are you using?
That alg looks very good!
I just use the lefty version of the normal alg. in, this lefty version is actually faster than the normal alg
Thanks for this. Might use it.
Why do you do R3 but not R'
instead of an r3 why not an r'?
edit: It is quicker to adjust to and reorent your hand for the r3 so you can smack that u' r' and then that u without movement. or so i found.
Nah regrip is hella slow
R3 is basically R’ right?
How to do it so fast?
An even cooler version
Place the U layer so that solved side is in front
(R U R' U')(L' U' L U)
Now opposite(U R U' R')(U' L' U L)
I don't use it but it looks cooler.
sinha prabhat Yh but it’s slower
@@ewanhoward1585 Thats why I said I don't use it because its slower.
Tbh I found it out it’s an alright algo like but Yh it is slower it’s to differents alg’s tho
Rw2 Uw M' Uw2 M' Uw Rw2 is a Variation of the MU algorithm that I came up with that replaces double flicks with wrist-turns.
The solved edge is on the right.
what cube is that?
What is R3
That R3 move will twist my hand
whats the difference between R3 and R'?
Alistair Malana With R' you need to regrip your hands but if you do R3 then your hands are in a better position for the next few moves :)
why do you have to use R3 if you can do R'
Isnt it the same as the regular alg but thw only difference is that u use R3 instead of R'
What is this cube, Weilong gts?
What keyboard is that?
but... there is a way to do the normal alg with just 1 regrip, and if you're good enough you won't even feel it...

Nope, I can do it in only one

Haha! This is the same thing (step-wise) as the original, you just hold it differently! I think I'll use it.
R3?
I use my own u perm I made up you just take out two F2l pairs and the put them back in the same order you took them out
Doesnt work for me
dose anybody know where lucas buys his moyu/cubicle hoodie from
plus nice vid and cool u perm
aaron ariff he has that hoodie with the cubicle and Moyu on it, is because he is sponsored by them.

would you normally use this in mirror alg for the reverse PLL?
