- This is the official music video for "Angels and Drugs" from Christian Death's 2009 record "American Inquisition" on Season of Mist Records.
The video was filmed and directed by Valor in Maine- winter 2008.

This is a very beautiful song, Valor is a brilliant songwriter. And hey kids, bashing Valor doesn't earn you any goth points. You kids make me embarrassed to admit that I like the music of Rozz Williams.

Most people don't realize that Rozz joined Pompeii 99 and they were going to be a new band with 3 lead vocalists, until the record company intervened and made them change the name to CD for marketing purposes.

Actually, Christian Death has been Valor's band for more than twenty years. Besides, he wrote the music to "Catastophe Ballet" and "Ashes", on which Rozz appeared, and he even taught Rozz to improve his singing by working with him on a piano. Moreover, if it wasn't for Valor and Yann Farcey, Christian Death Mark II would have ditched the name and called themselves Pompeii 99 (Valor's old band) or Daucus Korota (later used by Rozz). This song is amazing, and Valor is a genius.
It is a good song, I like it so much that i'm going to do a veil dance to it as it is quite an emotional piece of music. The goth scene needs as much support as it can get these days as it's morphing into something unrecognisable by the younger generation :(

Valor can write and arrange some rather beautiful music. This is perhaps his most commercially viable melody since "Sick of Love"...
I suggest looking up Nate the Bastard........He wrote all of that and got little to no credit..

@countertransferene Correction: Valor has been in the band since 1983, has been the driving songwriting force since 1984, and the lead vocalist since 1985. That's a lot longer than twenty years! Otherwise, great comment for a great song.

Why? It's a great song, and Valor has been the musical driving force since 1984.
Others, who spread only hate and lies, are those who should hang their heads in shame.
Regardless of what name is used, Valor has some great work and I would listen to it regardless - as does Rozz. Unless you are a big stadium band then there isn't much profit to be made anyway.
Everyone's arguing about Rozz vs Valor CD but no ones questioning how Maitri is able to piss about in that wintery forest with so little clothing on.
I have a question maybe someone might know the answer to? Is the guitar supposed to be so off time or any type of rhythm? I like all types of music and study lots of styles. So that's why I ask the question. It's not to bash or joke.

Just the truth....Rozz is dead. Valor was a HUGE writer for CD so it makes sence that he take over.
Valor did write some of the Ashes and Catastrophe ballet stuff, but when Rozz left, Nate the bastard was introduced, HE wrote stuff like All the Love and All The Hate, Insanus Ultio Proditio Mesricordia Que, Atrocities, and scriptures. When you look at the lyrics to valor's newer stuff, it repeats like a broken record and makes no sense.
@@elsbethgray1119 most of that is wrong and I'm gd friends with Nick. Rozz left the band in early 1986 when the band were briefly based in Italy with very little money. Valor has always written the music and when Rozz returned to California the music. Nick only joined in 1989 and co wrote music on All The Love and All The Hate records. Nick is also on the recording of The Heretics Alive as he had joined the band just prior to their June 1989 UK to promote Zero Sex. Nick replaced the multi pseudonymed previous guitarist Bob Skee aka Luci Angel aka James Beam. Incidentally going into All The Love the band ended up pretty much Valor, Nick and Webz as Kota and Gitane left after that 1989 Marquee show.
Also Nick had nothing to do with Indanus, Ultio, Proditio, Misericordiaque which was pretty much complied and arranged by Valor in Its entirety.

What about tracks like "Water into Wine", "Dexter Said No to Methadone", "Worship Along the Nile", "Surviving Armageddon", "Seduction, Thy Destruction"... I could go on?
Your point might be valid in relation to some songs on "Pornographic Messiah" and many on "Born Again Anti-Christian". However, I don't think it applies to "American Inquisition" at all. For my money, it's the best CD platter since "Prophecies" or even earlier, only more consistent.

@Stahlgewitter777 mayb i should give it another listen but from what i remember of the other songs on this album it is not the christian death i know & love. the prophecies was indeed an awesome album. this album i gotta say did remind me alot more of the born again album then the prophecies.

both rozz & valor put there all into cd, i like both of their sounds equally & think that just as any other 30 year old band they start to lose it. rozz is dead & valor surely does put out garbage these dayz, sexy death god was cd's last well crafted album, in my opion.

It's such a shame to see fans of Rozz and fans of Valor at each others throughts all the time and quite frankly it's boring - if you prefer Rozz then don't listen to Valor's work and bitch about it, and if you prefer Valor don't listen to Rozz's work and bitch about it. Me, I personally love both artists work - some of the work was good, some bad, if I don't like a song then I don't listen to it regardless of who wrote/sings etc - simple as that! x

Fair point, but I disagree. The sheer originality of the way Valor interweaves classical music into his art has always set him apart for me. Listen to "Insanus..." for some great examples. In any case, Rozz' "glory" as Christian Death was limited to one album. After that, it was Valor writing 90% of the songs. For me, HE is unsurpassable.
Just my opinion.

@altairjampa: This comment would make more sense if we didn't have Path of Sorrows and Rage of Angels: both ROZZ WILLIAMS, and both far, far worse than Valor on a very bad day. But if you are satisfied with dozens of recycled and repackaged Only Theatre of Pain incarnations, and this keeps the Rozz forever fire burning, then I suppose it would be cruel to question your undying loyalty and enthusiasm.
There is only one Christian Death and valor has nothing to do with it.

If Valor has made a good living from this then he must be doing something right. Hardcore fans of Rozz wouldn't buy/listen etc to any of Valor's work so how can he be living off his corpse?
I could appreciate the Rozz fanaticism much more if he didn't "reclaim" the CD name, and then release really horrible albums in the 90s, such as 'Path of Sorrows' and 'Rage of Angels'. To me, this makes Rozz the real hack. Ultimately, the only real quality contributions Rozz made to the project are those that were produced by Valor: Catastrophe Ballet and Ashes. Valor eventually ended up making crap, but it's nowhere near as bad as what Rozz was churning out toward the end.

this is the only good song on this album. cd always have offered songs that were different or unique, songs that separated them from other gothic rock or death rock bands, but this new shit that valor has been putting out are not original at all. since pornographic messiah came out, cd has become just another gothic metal/ industrial band. nothing new, nothing original, just the same old, same old
I don't consider valor kand's cheesy efforts to be real Christian Death, he stole that name like a rat... to be fair, few of his music is not bad at all, but most of it is embarrassingly cheesy, just my taste/opinion.... btw, his lyrics are ridiculous, bad composer, bad songwriter
