Why do you keep comparing it to the "Cooper"?... it is a "Cooper". It's a Paceman Cooper S. The word Cooper is a version in the range, not a specific model.
If you’re a couple that want an all wheel drive vehicle that will make you smile this is you’re car. We have a 2013 model and with winter tires it’s unstoppable in the snow. We changed the Pirelli PZero tires to a better softer 19” tire and it made a huge difference. If you buy a mini it’s meant to be different that’s the whole point. If you want to drive a boring vehicle like everyone else does then don’t drive a mini. I own three minis and they are a blast, and I haven’t had one issue with all three cars. I drive a Mini Cooper S all winter with winter tires on it and I’m in Alberta Canada, so anything can be done you just got to remember what your driving. Owning a mini is like being in a club every mini owner waves at you.
This car & cars like are not pointless. Last year I bought a '13 Volvo C30. It will be my gas friendly commuter car until my oldest girl is old enough to drive. When my youngest is 5 years away from driving I'll get this unless Volvo makes another 4 seat coupe. These are good for kids safe, small so only 3 passengers allowed and not too much tech to distract them. The all wheel drive is a bonus for me living in the northeast.
WHY do you call this car pointless , others have said the same thing . I own one and LOVE the Paceman S . its a perfect Mini for me and Iam a little guy . Plenty of room , fun to drive , good gas mpg . and doesn't look like other plan looking car that most drive .
I am considering buying a used one, Adam. I wonder if you would expand on your ownership experience so far? Lots of people have made claims that the engine and transmission are unreliable, even some rating agencies give the car a poor grade for reliability. How many miles/km do you have on yours and have you had any problems? What sort of driving do you do (commuting, trips etc) and what sort of avg fuel economy have you seen on yours? As you said you have the Paceman S I'm assuming you've got the 180hp turbo engine. Manual or Auto trans? Thank you.

You'll never see 2theredline doing something like that. Oldest car I've seen them do is the celica GT and it was like an 04.
Engines with direct injection generally "tick" like that, but that's the loudest direct-injected engine I've ever heard by a large margin. Hyundai's DI engines are pretty loud too.
Can you share why you got it over a Countryman? I'm looking at both, and I am honestly confused on which to buy and why one is better over the other. :( And the benefits of an awd vs fwd on thi s car?

Its the fact that it seems like the engineers that designed those Fuel Injectors and the Cylinder head, did not take any considerations into sounds dampening. My Diesel with all the sound deadening covers on it, Off, sounds 10x quieter than it, and its a 6 cylinder, 3.0L! And trust me, the Injector on any Diesel run at a much higher PSI than Petrol.
I wish mine came with Sunroof. I paid $31K for my paceman s 2014, it just has Xenons, no navi or anything. Mini's packaging sucks ass!! Doesnt even have automatic headlights, Toyota Camrys and Kia's have that.

Worth noting that taller drivers benefit from the longer door armrest on a two-door.

No chance. I had a CL600 (& a CL55AMG & CL500) and also own a Paceman. The CL was one of the most unreliable cars I've ever owned.
