Hello Rick and Andrea! Hope you are both well, another great and informative videos. We love your vlog but especially just want to say how helpful they truly have been for us when we travelled to Italy. Everything was spot on!!
It's great information, that train number is very important. .We just finished our Month holiday in Europe. Your videos were such a great help.We used Italo and Trenitalia. We had such a terrific experience getting our train to Florence from Rome, Pompeii from Rome and then Rome to Revenna. Perfecto
Stay away from hotels near the station, never seen such filthy streets, rubbish all over the place, over flowing bins, poo the smell of piss and even dead cats and rats about, revolting. If went again would go Rome- Pompeii direct, some interesting old streets in Naples around Dante, but dirty there as well.@@l.l.203
Great video, thank you for sharing! If you don't mind, I have a quick question. I have to change trains in Milan (from an IC to a FR), and I was wondering if I need to leave the platform area to scan my FR ticket in the turnstile or if I can just stay in the platform area until I take my next train. Thank you!
Hello there, you will need to change platform most likely but you don’t have to go far usually and no need to scan the QR code they will scan it on board the train
Thank you so much for another great video. Trying to learn as much as possible before our Rome trip next year. I would like your opinion on something. We will be disembarking Sun Princess and staying in Rome for 3 days. So the question is is it better to arrange a shuttle/Taxi or train? My concern is taking the bus to the train station in Civitavecchia, then the train to Rome, then in Rome getting a taxi or walking with 4-6 pieces of luggage depending on where our hotel is. Thoughts on just spending a little more and making it an easy day getting to our hotel. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hello guys, sorry another question about trains. In April '24 we fly into Roma and after about 6 nights in Italy were planning to train into Switzerland via Milano and Domodossola. we eventually fly out of Zurich. Unfortunately the Gotthard tunnel accident is causing problems with the timetable. And Italian rail appear to have major track repairs planned around Milano. Some normal 2 hour journeys are now showing 20 hours(!!!) on the SBB website. Do yo know what is going on?
If my wife and I are traveling in Italy together can I buy train tickets online for both of us or do we need to each download the app and buy separate tickets on the same train? Thanks
Hi Rick and Andrea, we will be going to Italy in Nov. If we need to get to a place, I search using GPS, at 1st we need to use the speed train, then need to transfer to the slower train like the Metro to some part of Italy, then do we need to get out of the speed train station and to go another train station to purchase another train ticket for the Metro or it is all link? Can you do a clip to change from Speed train to normal train or to bus, what do we have to do? Can you also explain the different logo that we see in the GPS? Thank you.
Hello there thank you for your comment. Normally if you have to change from high speed train to normal train you do it in the same station. Just a different platform. For the metro you will need to follow the M sign at the train station.
@@TravelAddictsLife So does that means we only need to purchase one ticket and it goes all the way to the small train station we want to go from the machine or we need to buy separate tickets, eg, we have to buy the speed train 1st, then when we need to change to the slower train or different brand train, we need to buy another train ticket? Or it also depends on the different company of the transport?
@@TravelAddictsLife U mean on the apps? The app Trenitalia? Unfortunately the Trenitalia app isn't available on Google play in my region which is Singapore, only Italo is available and I have already downloaded. If we need to travel from Venice to Cinque Terre, the GPS show me to take Italo train then transfer to Trenitalia train, do we need to buy the tickets separately? Or we can buy the tickets from the machine and just click from Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia to Monterosso? Sorry for the all the question as it really confusing.
@Sk-dc9vb for the cinque terre it is better to buy the train to la Spezia on line (either the app or the website) then buy the cinque terre card in La Spezia (we have a video about that on the channel)
@@terrycraft3624 I was able to load it onto my IPhone 14 last week, so good to go for our trip this coming week! Great and very helpful videos for our prep. Thank you gentlemen!

Great tips - thanks.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Perfekt timing, guys! Taking the train from Rome to Neaples in just a few weeks. Thanks!
Just back from Naples, hated it was happy to get back to Rome. Termini station often does not put the platform up until a few minutes before departure
@clivebaxter6354 I'm sad to hear! How come? Going there for pompeii, herculaneum and Mt vesuvius primary.

If you have a lot of bags a taxi is definitely an easier option.

Can I use the online app to book a train from FCO Airport to Termini?
Yes, the Leonardo Express. I believe 14 euro.
Yes indeed! 😀
