Rio Grande 168: Victorian Steam Freight on the Rio Grande Route

This Time on Tristan Rail Productions, we Take you on another Adventure for Part 2 Of Our 2 Day Photo Charter on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Back in October. This Time With Rio Grande 4-6-0 No.168. No.168 Was Built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1883, This Year at 140 Years Old! No.168 was Used on the Denver and Rio Grande Narrow Gauge Route Most her Early Life, Hauling Passengers and Freight. Retired in the 1930s, Sat On Display for 80 Plus Years, and Was Brought to the C&TS for Restoration, and Returned to Steam in 2019! Today at 140 Years Old, No.168 is Still going Strong! In our Previous Video Was Rio Grande No.463, Which she Also Turned 120 Years Old This Year as Well!
In This Video we will Take you Along the Antonito Route Once again, at Locations Along the C&TS, At Bighorn, Sublette, Etc.... Even New Locations that the Other Video. No.168 was Pulling a Photo Freight with also a Passenger Car, and a 1800s Caboose, We Start Out at Fergusons Trestle, and Make Our way Toward Osier. My special needs son is glad that 168 is up and running again but he also hopes that the line between Chama and Durango will be rebuilt and used again as well as the line to Torrington and the Rio Grande Southern lines and the line to Santa Fe is restored and the line between Alamosa and Antonito is either converted back to narrow gauge or a third rail is added so narrow gauge trains can run on it too. He believes that if all that were to happen it would increase business and give tourists a change of scenery.

Feel Free to Share This Video with Him! In Regards to The Narrow Gauge System From Durango to Chama, is Likely Not Gonna Happen, Unless Money allows, and Lots of Things Involved to Make that Happen. As Nice as That Would Be, At least We Have 2 Parts of Former D&RG Trackage. I'm Sure there is Talks About it. Only Time Will Tell.
