Haha, when she first stated that she was going to spend $100 on budget options, I thought there would be no way that she could eat what would need to be a mountain of food. The fine dining restaurant at the end was a nice touch. I absolutely adored all of the nodoguro that I was luckily able to sample during my trip to Japan. That and the hotaru ika were the highlight seafood entrees for the entire journey. Thanks, Stef!
Great job Stephanie!! Watching you as a non native Japanese speaker is refreshing. I love the different pace of the videos with the different hosts. I have always wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant in Japan and I think I found the one. It looks affordable and delicious! I can't wait to see the next video! Thanks again and have a beautiful day!
Thank you so much for your support! We're glad you enjoyed the video and the different pacing with each host. Just to clarify, we noted in the disclaimer that we made an error-Ginza Furuta is not Michelin-starred, but Michelin-recommended! Nevertheless, we're confident you'll still love it.

12;40am from Chicago and patiently waited for your next video. Delicious salmon and egg. Fried Goyza looks so yummy, I would have had 2 cokes to wash it down with. Sashimi looked delicious. Absolutely love corn. Absolutely love fish, looked so moist and tender. Absolutely Loved Every Minute // Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish
Yeah, shop opens at 9am, so they had to film before opening time. But that line outside for onigiri even 1 hour before opening time means that place must be really good 🙂
Amazing video ❤ keep up the good work. She's so sweet. I hope you're doing well. I haven't seen a video in quite some time. I work so much at the hospital. Again wonderful video
Loved the variety of places! It's great to see places that weren't on my radar! My only suggestion is to keep the budget in yen for future videos. I think converting just for comparison is fine, but comes across as too US focussed and not an accurate portrayal of budget for many others. For instance, the last meal alone would cost way more than $100 if converted to my currency. Just a nitpick, though - the video was great otherwise! 😊
by food should do a set of videos highlighting early morning eats from say 4 am to 8. i tend to be awake super early i love a big city when its dawn. i bet tokyo dawns are particularly fun.
incredibly informative, i really appreciate all you folks on this channel, thanks to all. this will radically enhance the value of my spending. byfood as a whole definitely will, ive planned about ten reservations already and im not going for another eight months now i got cheap eats options and ideas too. If possible could you try and do a collaboration with "only in japan, John Daub"? hes a brilliant content creator I think you guys would love his work.
Thank you for your loyal support and booking with us! It’s awesome that you’ve already planned ten reservations-sounds like you have some exciting culinary adventures ahead!
We sincerely apologize for the mistake earlier. Noto Kanazawanosachi Ginza Furuta is in the Michelin guide but doesn’t have a star or Bib Gourmand. Thank you for pointing that out-we’ll be more careful moving forward!
@@mosmarb Yes, we obtained the correct information from Ginza Furuta, but due to an oversight in our production process, we accidentally published inaccurate information. We genuinely apologize for this mistake!
Not sure when this video was scripted. The Japanese Yen has appreciated and clawed back much of its dips over fiscal year 2024. $100 USD only yields 14,400 JPY now. 😅
I was thinking, the world has enough pharmacists, what we really need is ANOTHER food content creator. So we can make videos of people thoroughly handling food with their bare hands..A hard pass!
Handle food with bare hands and still food poisoning is rare in Japan. Totally opposite in the shit standards USA, with food poisoning so bad to the point that health inspectors prefer the cooks to not use gloves because they saw too many cooks think they don't have to wash their hands as they are going to wear gloves anyway, ROFL!
Title of video should say: "How not to spend $12k for Dinner in Tokyo." Dinner was roughly 5x more than breakfast and lunch. How about a more affordable yet delicious dinner alternative selection next time. I'm well off but will not spend $12k for dinner. Only women like to spend this amount of money for "experiences"
This was a nice laid back presentation from steph those dishes looked delicious!!! nice job team Japanese by food.
If Stephanie and Shizuka collab on one food vid together, it would be gloooorious.
We already have! In Hokkaido ☺️
@@ShizukaAnderson whaaaa...I must've missed that one! Brb going to watch it rn! 😁
There you go again. Making me salivate with another food review. I love it when you order with your eyes instead of your stomach!
We are glad to hear you’re enjoying the food reviews!
I knew it! You’ve got magic powers! Very useful... so, when’s dinner? 😊😊😉
The meals looked so delicious and appetizing! Thanks for the cool video and kanpai!
Glad you liked it! Cheers!

Yes, in most cases, we need to film outside of regular opening hours, but the restaurant opens at 9 a.m.😇

Wow Onigiri Bongo look so good🤤 , definitely going there next time i'm in Tokyo .
I want it real bad, but that line is infamous

she has Kim dao x cup of TJ vibes 😂 tried nodoguro at mori mori sushi in omicho market last year and its definitely worth the price tag!
Pretty sure I'll spend all on ramen and sushi. Ramen sushi... eureka! Lol.
Thank you for watching!
Once again Stephanie's nails are magnificent. Maybe you could do another challenge about having breakfast, lunch and dinner all from a conveno

(餃子)Gyoza is also delicious when eaten with just vinegar and pepper!
The key is to add plenty of pepper.😃👍️
You are so right! We love adding plenty of pepper! 😊
It's a good thing japan has bidet toilets
that fish aspic looks so interesting
What a breakfast!
Stefatty is my new crush, it's the accent, don't tell Shizuka.
I'm telling! XP
Very Aussie 🙂
She's 🔥 you can tell she works out, just told my wife I'd cheat😂
is she Vietnamese, ethnicity-wise?
@@Dimaz42 I would say so.
Very nice video, but you made me so hungry 😢
Sorry!
Incredible meals for a Benjamin
Well done, this would be interesting in Kagurazaka.

wow I´m hungry now after watching this 😂
Food has a way of making us crave it, doesn't it?
Just came to see if the Catwoman Cosplay was still in full effect.
😁 I'm glad she wasn't deterred, the nails look on point. No pun intended.
I dont think food in Harajuku is that expensive, though first 3 streets from takeshita street usually is.
Ginza, I thought Godzilla already obliterated this place before. Damn, Japan is really something else.
I'm not sure if it's a pun in regards to referencing the Yakuza 😀
where is shizuka?
Whoever did the editing, noduguro is defintely not seabass 12:54
Noto Kanazawanosachi Ginza Furuta has an entry in the Michelin guide but no star or Bib.

Where is Shizuka?? But I did watch please 🙏 dont tell Shizuka TIA 😊
Shizuka is not the only host of Japan by Food.
Shizuka is on Sunday.
She didnt do her thing, do the thing!
She did mine yesterday
Shizuka has farting issue after eating all those food last week . Thats y stef is here
Try chewing & tasting the food before doing the cliche over reactions.

yeah though they did say "about" 15,000 yen
Which is still cheap...

Is Shizuka-san well? This clip is still great to watch, thank you!

Spending $100 one day just on food is not a challenge...its a splurge
100%!!!
My weekly budget was around $60 😁.
I thought if I spent $100, I wouldn't be on a budget...
ye my thoughts exactly. 10€ breakfast isn't budget either imo, the 5€ lunch was the most budget-y imo xD
Sorry, those nails really bother me a lot, especially when she ate the onigiris
