An honest review. I always thought the boobs looked weird aswell.. Never really got all the Yaira hype either.
This book might be a good example of why the rippaverse should be focussing on their comics instead putting time and effort into a 500 dollar statue of a character who didnt even have a book yet.
I really hope they learn from this

Thanks, and yeah, it feels like Eric's getting a bit over excited with it all and expanding when maybe he should be consolidating - but the audience is there, ready to spend it seems.
And i hope they learn too but its the 4th book and there are still the same mistakes

Why do you think that was the trade off? Like sending a sketch to McFarlane toys and having people work on prototypes of that statue means that the quality of the Yaira book would suffer for it? That doesn't make any sense. Perhaps you think they should focus on only releasing one 46 page book every 3 years so that the "quality" can be "better"? They sold 200 of those statues during the campaign and likely will continue selling them. The statue is already profitable for The Rippaverse, but for some reason you think that they should have not made it for the fans that were asking for one to be made?

@@andyradart8498 Marvel and DC have been making books for almost a century, can you show me one comic book that either of them has made without any mistakes? They are still getting set up and every comic is being worked on by a different team of people. You people also don't seem to understand that there is a time delay between when all these books were finalized and when the reviews for Isom 2 and Alphacore were coming in. Yaira was mostly finished before Isom 2 was even in reader's hands, so how could the Yaira book have learned from things pointed out in the critiques for Isom 2 and Alphacore? I am seeing continual improvement from the company and expect that to continue, but I don't expect them to ever have a mistake free book, because I don't expect that from any company.

@@truthedministry I appreciate the logical extreme argument (which actually seems a bit self defeating, is wanting better quality bad?), but it's because its a division of attention and focus. When you can do both that's cool, but it's undeniable that the same mistakes are happening with each issue, they couldn't even get the blurb on the back of Yaira #1 right - that's a basic lack of care and poor editing.

@@andyradart8498 How does my argument imply that wanting better quality is bad? My argument was that the Yaira statue had no impact on the quality of any of the Rippaverse books! The people who worked with McFarlane on the statue are not the same people that worked on the Yaira book.
There is a missing space between two words on the back of the book.... so your claim is that if they hadn't made the statue then that space would have been added? There are typos in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince published by the Scholastic Corporation. To stand on principle then you should be against J. K. Rowling working with Warner Brothers to make the movies based on her books, Universal for the amusement parks based on her books, and all the toy, clothing, and food companies that made Harry Potter related merch just so that a single page in her book could read "ten owls" instead of "eleven owls" in the original print run of those books.... "J. K. don't focus on the things that helped you become a billionaire, because some random troll on the internet demands that your books not have any mistakes in them." Does that sound reasonable to you?
Eric said they identified the typo and that it will be corrected in future prints... that's what publishers do. Meanwhile, there are typos in every EVS book so far, but no one is telling him that he is splitting his focus on too many things and rushing his comic book output... Typos happen and all the time and focus in the world won't prevent there from being typos in a comic or book. You put a standard on The Rippaverse that you don't apply equally to all companies. "Perfect is the enemy of good" - Voltaire. You demand perfection from The Rippaverse, but are more than willing to overlook more glaring flaws in other created works.

3:05 Dave Finch, Mark Bagley, Dale Keown, Rob Liefeld. All learned to draw from comics.

They clearly dislike their audience and The Quartering. He made several videos on Brie Larson beating up a dude for hitting on her in Capt. Marvel, so the sisters took that scene and redid it, but Yaira rips the dude's jaw off. This book was the funniest troll ive seen in a while, and they got every Rippaverse fan in their trap .lol. Even their recent interviews for their movies touch up on it, it's crazy how they fooled a whole customer fanbase.

Fair point and It did amuse me when Eric hired 3 women to write and draw his first female led comic. I've no problem with that per se, there are some great female writers and artists (I'm talking about the ones before current times) it just felt antithetical to his previous stance

Captain Marvel broke a random normal guy's hand for daring to hit on her. She then stole his bike. Yaira is in the middle of a prison brawl where all the prisoners are superpowered individuals that were imprisoned by Alphacore. In the panel right before this she is punching one guys head into the floor while throwing another one. She was trying to get to Stephanya and he got in her way. She would have punched him just as hard if he hadn't said anything.
Additionally, Captain Marvel is supposed to be a hero, whereas Yaira is deliberately an anti-hero. Captain Marvel goes out of her way to save people that she has never met, so her behavior towards that guy was out of character. Yaira only cares about herself and her family, so it is perfectly in-line with her character for her to punch a guy that is bothering her when she is trying to get something done.

its amazing you can predict what would have happened if the story had gone completely differently, its almost like you can't accept an honest critique and are having to make up "what would have happened anyways" to justify something plot-wise that you don't want to accept 😂.

    • @truthedministry
      @truthedministry 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@testing2741 It isn't an honest critique to claim that Yaira punched a "guy's jaw off" for hitting on her when she just got done smashing another guys skull into the the ground. After she punched the "guy's jaw off", she says, "I'm not doing this for you. Or even Solari. I want the @#$%ing girl." You want to ignore those details that directly contradict your "that makes her a woke girlboss" bogus take. She flat out tells the reader why she punched the guy, but you want to pretend that she only did it because he was "asking her to smile" (that's all the guy in Captain Marvel did).
Also, in what world is saying a woman should smile the equivalent of saying that you'd like to thank her by busting a nut on or in her? The first might annoy her, but the second is sexual harassment. They aren't the same no matter how much you weirdos want them to be just to "own Eric July".
