@@scrapitall200 you don't get scrap price, on batteries? A few places here, don't charge for tv's and some electronics. There is a special shipping container they are put in, no charge. Not sure which country they go to, or ...?
Hand stripping wire is not an easy task, but to me it's worth it as I melt down and hoard all my copper. Appreciate the prayer at the end, all prayers are needed 🙏
Great video brother. Found out a few days ago that my scrap yard calls coax and Christmas lights trash. Also the prices are very low here...still. Coated copper wire is 20 cents a pound. God bless you
Yeah coax usually has a copper coated steel core, so I just toss them in the shred. I’m surprised about the Christmas lights since there is copper and brass in the light sockets. God bless you brother and thank you for watching.
Love the video, you are awesome for taking the time to show us how to do some scrapping with little or no tools. Take care and see you on the next video. May God bless you my friend.
Great demo my friend. Have you ever asked your scrap buyer if they would buy the copper if you melted into bars and if so how would they buy it. You mentioned that the corroded wire is thin so it would be #2 even if it were clean so this may or may not help but if you mix up some water with powdered citric acid and heat it up and soak the copper in it it should clean off that corrosion. Just a thought.
Thank you! My yard won’t buy ingots cause they don’t know what’s inside. Some yards have a device that scans the metal and they can know if it’s pure. That is certainly an option to remove corrosion and upgrade the copper. Thank you for watching my friend.
Im in the water well industry. Just pulled a pump on a 380 foot well that we were abandoning for a municipality. Pump was set about 220 ft below ground using 6 gauge solid. 3 wires, so about 700 ft total. Stuff is a bear to strip. Seems like the insulation is stuck pretty good to the copper, any tips?
@@Watthead80 wow, that’s a lot of copper. I would try to get the wire as warm as possible, I wonder if that’ll help separating it. I would do a test piece of a couple pounds. Find out what your yard will pay for it as is versus what you’ll get paid for it stripped! Might not be too bad selling it as is if it’s too hard to get the insulation off. Sorry I don’t have anymore ideas, I’ve not really encountered that before.
I have made a board with two screws close enough to feed wires through . 1st set of screws is to guide the cable the second is to direct the wire into 3rd set of screws where there c I feed the wire through and place the blade onto of screws it cuts the through the wire caseing it takes me seconds to strop wires . There is 6 set I have made for the different sized wires to be fed through .. I hope this makes sense .

I have some very thick copper wire as thick as my thumb but it has a very hard plastic coating on it what is the easiest way to get it off I do not have a wire stripper
I leave it in the sun for a while to soften, put one end in a vise and use an old freshly sharpened butcher knife and run it along the insulation. This is what I do but take your own chances if you attempt it
Good video Christian brother. Another relevant tip would be to never attempt to hand strip wire with portions of the insulation melted. Way too much of a pain in the behind.
I have my own trick for getting the wire out of the jacket instead of trying to pick it out of the end I have an old Soup pot you grab the two ends of the wire and rub the center of the wire Over The Soup pot Edge did stretches the plastic coating and the wire pops straight up then you can easily grab it by the middle and fold it up like you do then just drop it in the pot but that's just my opinion thanks for your video I used to do it that way too until I got a stripper
