I like the next line: Rick turns to go back inside and is greeted by Captain Renault, sitting at a table near the entrance. Renault quips, "How extravagant you are, throwing away women like that. Some day they may be scarce."
Women like her certainly are scarce today. Today, her devotion to Rick would be considered disgraceful by feminists and women jealous of her great beauty.
"Where were you last night?" "Thats so long ago I dont remember" "Will I see you tonight?" "I never make plans that far ahead" Very classic lines.. and very relatable lol
When she breaks down crying while singing the Marseilles it turns this character from an annoying person to a star. Even minor characters in this classic are great.
Sasha was played by Leonid Kinskey, a Russian emigre actor in Hollywood. He was in the pilot episode of "Hogan's Heroes," but was dropped from the cast when the show went into regular production - maybe because of the Cold War. The accent was real.
French actress Madeleine Lebeau and her Jewish husband escaped from France just ahead of German Troops in 1940. She had the small but important role of Yvonne in Casablanca two years later.

Some of us should be grateful to get just one
In the script the line was "Someday they may be rationed" - but the censors required a change.

@@domainofthesun4400 That would have been totally in character, for the very cynical “Renault.”
One of the best lines of the movie
Even the small roles in this film are awesome.
"Where were you last night?"
"Thats so long ago I dont remember"
"Will I see you tonight?"
"I never make plans that far ahead"
Very classic lines.. and very relatable lol
“Give me another.”
“Sasha she’s had enough.”
“Don’t listen to him Sasha, fill it up!”
“Yvonne I love you, but he pays me.”
I love those lines lol
one of the best lines in cinema history
If a man treated me like that...he would never see me again!!!!! I'd change my number, the locks on my doors, and burn my sheets.
Doing him the favor, that’d be right.
this is the best movie of all time
:)
“Sasha, be sure she gets home.”
“Yes, Boss.”
“And come right back.”
“Yeeesss, Boss.” Poor Sasha.
Sasha was a cool guy.
unlike p.e.T’son.
🤣🤣🤣
All he wants is to take advantage of a miserable drunk girl 😢
Go with her Sasha and make sure she get's home. "Yes, Boss". AND COME RIGHT BACK! (Dejected) Yes....Boss......
Let’s be honest Sascha would have stayed if Rick didn’t tell him that
The actor who played Sasha was terrific. He had only a few lines, but complimented Rick's character.
@@dmmchugh3714 *complemented
@@JudgeJulieLit Both, actually. 'Boss, you've done a beautiful thing' was a compliment.
@@AndreNitroX Who wouldn’t have?
So much wit, so many lines to make you smirk, chuckle or laugh in just 51 seconds.
"Where were you last night?"
"That was so long ago I don't remember."
I hope someday before I die I get a chance to use that line myself.
VERTIAC, That is a great line. Unfortunately nobody gives a damn where I was last night. Lol

Sorry for you.
Too bad.
Thats the one thing about Casablanca. You can hear a line and know exactly where it was said in the movie and who said it.
Amen
But Bogart never said, "Play it again, Sam."
@@rimshot2270 Of course he didn't, just as James Cagney never said "YOU DIRTY RAT" It is just part of lore.
When she breaks down crying while singing the Marseilles it turns this character from an annoying person to a star. Even minor characters in this classic are great.
I wish Yvonne could have been in this movie more. And I wish Sasha got together with her, he seemed like a good guy for her

@@JMDinOKC i liked him alot, i wish he had a bigger role.
She was only 19 at the time. Sasha was not a bad boy like Rick. She would not have been interested.
Unfortunately, too many women like her are still only drawn to the "bad boys."
@@rimshot2270 WHY do women like hurting the nice guys?!
..porządnie się zachował...😊👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️...moja warstwa po uczynkach..😊🤣🤣🤣🤣
God, how great is Bogart, the actors of classic cinema were years away from those of now
Best movie ever!
HB was a BOSS..... one of the smoothest scenes in cinema history on how to spit game to a women.
What a fool I was to fall for a man like you!!!
-Yvonne 1942
"And come right back. Yes boss..." LOL.
My favourite scene :D
When Hollywood had class and great writers.
When you think about it, Rick is being a real heel to her.
French actress Madeleine Lebeau and her Jewish husband escaped from France just ahead of German Troops in 1940. She had the small but important role of Yvonne in Casablanca two years later.
Madeleine Lebeau should have won an Oscar for best supporting actress...
I think i remember that she was actually a member of the French underground.
0:40 that surely hurt, and she just kept acting. That’s commitment.
Pays him a lot I see.
One night Rick loved women the next night he loved men, Rick was a true patriot
What a fool I was to fall for a man like you 😢
Here’s to Congress.
I love Yvonne, I wish she could have had more screen time. Also I wanted her and Sascha to get together he seemed like a good guy for her
She was only 19-20 when she made that movie. After the war she went back to France 🇫🇷 and had a long and successful career in French cinema.
@@Outlier999 what a woman
@@AndreNitroX She was 19 when she made that film. She died in Spain in 2016 at 92, after an impressive career in the French cinema.
@@rimshot2270 she was the last survivor of Casablanca as well.
@@AndreNitroX Since she was only 19 when she made the picture, I'm not surprised. She was the last "credited" survivor.

Hollywood is good aren't they?
Why did he give the Germans a free ride ?
It’s Vichy French territory and they have Carte Blanche.
Did the bartender return? lol
"Germans - boom-boom-boom-boom"
Do her again sam. Play it good.
