Why are so many knowledgeable people so lost? Alistair Begg explains that it is because knowledge ungrounded in the fear of the Lord leads to rootless despair. Our job as educators, whether of students or our own children, is to set all learning upon the foundation of a life spent seeking the Lord. Only then can it become wisdom, blessing those who receive it.

Loved " education provides no basis for life and no provision for death".
I remember bible study and prayer in primary school, now these principles are eliminated and the new generation are lost sheep's, along with the parents, guardians, and mentors, because the world and society has deemed it unnecessary and NOT of importance to life

I thoroughly enjoy as the Pastor ties Paul Simon, the Moody Blues and the Beatles into a strong lesson. I pray parents, grandparents, guardians or friends, will listen to the importance of education. Not just in the school setting but in the words of GOD and His teachings.

As a Scotsman of the same vintage as Alastair I also remember bible stories taught to me in school between the ages of 5-12 by Ms Kerr in Glasgow’s West End. And as such the story of Samuel has been a touchstone for me throughout my life.
Looking back the only kids that opted out of daily Bible time were one Jewish boy and (I think) a muslim boy.
Some of my most vivid and precious memories of Scottish primary school are of a dear lady teacher who read to us from the Bible. I was especially inspired by the story of Elijah, and remember, too, the poignancy of the story of Joseph in Egypt and his emotions in his dealings with his brothers when they did not know him (Gen 42-45). She was a wonderful teacher whom you knew to really care for you individually, and whom you sensed loved the God whose word she read. God bless her.
anselman indeed it seems we experienced the same whilst being blessed by daily bible stories. In today’s Scottish education system alas, there is zero chance of being similarly blessed

Although I'm an adult, I will daily apply this to my learning as a teacher and educator. Everyone has their path to walk. My son and daughter I don’t know with certainty their heart. Just as it was with my parents now it is with me. I pray and do my best to live by example and pray.
God’s great power and the Holy Spirit will do the wrest. It is by grace we are saved not by our parents. Pray for them and God will do the wrest.
