Thank You!!!! I was struggling trying to put my fairing back on after replacing the radio. I was so frustrated that I haven't put it back on yet. This made it look so easy

    FYI
The difference between red and blue threadlocker is a matter of strength and removability. Loctite threadlocker blue is designed to easily be replaceable with common tools, whereas red is a more permanent fix.

You just saved the day for us lol. We were having a super hard time might I add we thought impossible of a time putting that dam front piece on. Someone sent me this video and we took out lights and was able to see those stupid hooks and was a breeze to lock it on and button her up. Thanks a bunch

Great Video! Gonna try the headlight out next time I pull the fairing... One comment... Loctite 242 Blue is the one you want for removable nuts... Red 271 is for applications where you won't be removing the nut/bolt on a regular basis.
    271 (Red): High-Strength (Permanent)
    • High temperature, high strength for heavy duty applications.
    • Designed for larger fasteners 3/8" to 1" (9.5mm to 25mm).
    • Locks studs, bushings and large fasteners against vibration loosening.
    • Strengthens slip and light press fits.
    • Removable with heat and hand tools.
They’re not kidding when they say permanent. Use only on screws you don't ever plan on removing. To remove a bolt treated with red Loctite, you would need to heat it to approximately 500 degrees Fahrenheit to melt the Loctite, and then crank it with a 4-foot wrench (OK, a little exaggeration). So use this product with caution.
    242 (Blue): Removable-Strength
    • Locks threaded fasteners against vibration loosening.
    • Ideal for nut and bolt applications 1/4" to 3/4" (6mm to 20mm).
    • Prevents threads from rusting and leaking.
    • Removable with hand tools for easy disassembly.
    • Temperature range: -65 degrees to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 degrees to 149 degrees Celsius).
Use this Loctite on threaded parts that you need to keep from coming loose, but might want to remove occasionally for cleaning or to replace with another component. It is removable with some mechanical force.
    290 (Green): Wicking Grade
    • Penetrating formula works in between pre-assembled parts.
    • Locks threaded fasteners against vibration loosening.
    • Ideal for fasteners ranging from #2 to 1/2" (2.2mm to 12mm).
    • Localized heating and hand tools are needed for disassembly.
    • Temperature range: -65 degrees to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 degrees to 149 degrees Celsius).
Use for pre-assembled parts that need to be locked in place.
    Thanks again for the video...

Duuuuuudde!! Thank you for this video! This thing has been pissing me off. Other videos make it look so easy, off and right back on but never take the headlights out. I spent the past hour cussing this thing out. Finally found your video and boom... first try, 2 minutes. Thank you!

Great video making it way easier for removal. Nice explanations. You know what you're doing why on earth are you using the substandard phillips screwdriver?

Two questions: Is the 2006 Road Glide the same design as far as the headlight plate removal?
Also, have you ever replaced a glove box door spring on the inner fairing??

    • @tomc9856
      @tomc9856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The springs come with the glove box door. So you would have to but a complete door assembly. Remove the outer fairing and there are two screws to replace the glove box door.

Great video brother!! Have you ever tried to replace or change your windshield? I am and I cant get them damn rubber things for the screws to stay in. Any hints or a video I would appreciate it. Thanks.

ABM 261 they wear out pretty easy, talk to the HD dealer for the correct parts, keep your old ones and make sure they are the same, my dealer has been hit n miss with them I’ll go get the part number I have in a few for ya
