Seven Love You Brisbane Evolution 1983

A rare rendition of the popular "Love You Brisbane" campaign from Channel 7 in Brisbane.
Simon Gallagher and Kim Durant singing together up the Queen Street Mall .. one sunny summer day .. Kim then went solo with the campaign and actually took the song to a hot position on the Brisbane Radio Charts that year.
It was year 2 of the promotion sourced from a betamax tape recorded at BTQ in 1983.

I remember brisbane well at this time. You could leave money on your door step for the milkman and Waltons. Lots of people in the height of summer slept with there front doors open and every window wide open. You knew not just your neighbor but most people in the street and every where really. You would run into people you knew at Macdonnell & East. In Myers and David Jones City and Valley. I could go out all day long and my parents never worried. Those are memories i cherish.

Very interesting to watch, thanks for uploading a gem once again. More interesting to consider the context in which this first aired: Fitzgerald Inquiry a couple of years away, the corrupt were as bent as ever; yet this song papers over the problems of the time, diverting attention to a 'hot position on the Brisbane radio charts: 'where else but Queensland!'
