It is so very true. I had the honor to be in the presence of my beloved grandmother, Dad and Mom when they passed over. Each time was so unique. Proof on each occasion there is God and Heaven.
Maurice you’ve outdone yourself and I commend you for it . Non of us are normal, I know I’m not. Our experiences from childhood can mess up our heads. I was raised by alcoholics. That affects children with trust issues. My mom died at 62 Dad at 61. I’m a strong woman of 68 because I had to be. Thank you all for sharing your stories. You all bring happiness to my life by doing your jobs. I love you all for it. ❤❤❤❤

What a powerful State of Mind this was. The segment dealing with grief really resounded with me. I had 2 close friends die unexpectedly, the second one was just 6 weeks ago, and I have been struggling. What Laura, Dominic and Cameron had to say was actually comforting. I lost my Dad in 2005 and my Mother in 2020, I was with them both when they passed, both from 2 different cancers. I'm at peace with it, but I miss them dearly.

Maurice another Great State of Mind. So happy you did this on Elvis’s birthday. From Canada my friend and I decided to take a drive to Graceland in November and I was so sorry to have missed you then by a few days. I got very emotional when Paula arranged to surprise you with Dr. Noonan. His honesty about lithium which I believe is the better drug and the fact that he knew that you were bipolar and was able to exactly help you brought tears to my eyes. I would also like to thank your GH family for sharing and there support. When I went through my divorce it was very difficult for me especially having parents that raised me Italian Catholic. They are now in heaven and I’m not that practicing Catholic anymore but I must say your book and State of Mind has been a blessing. I found what Laura said about the pass and the future is true. You can only live in the now and not let those other times take over. I also love when you mention staying in first or second gear, third maybe but don’t go into fourth,fifth,or sixth. God bless all of you 🙏❤️

I MYSELF HAVE BORDERPOLAR AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO FIND A PLACE TO LIVE, BECAUSE I AM BEING EVICTED FROM THE APT COMPLEX I HAVE LIVED IN FOR 19 YEARS!! I AM 63 YEARS OLD AND HAVE MENTAL ILLNESS THAT RUNS IN MY FAMILY DOWN TO MY GREAT-GREAT-GRANDPA. IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS I HAD 2 ANXIETY ATTACKS 1 DAY AFTER ANOTHER, MY BP WENT UP TO 220/170, AND I WAS SUICIDAL. I BELIEVE THAT THE STRESS I AM UNDER WAS THE REASON FOR ALL OF THAT!! I LOVE MAURICE BENARD AND THE STATE OF MIND SHOW BECAUSE IT INSPIRES NOT TO GIVE UP!! It was an absolute pleasure to watch this episode of State Of Mind! One of my favourite of many; such a beautiful ending to a great show. It’s disheartening to hear about lithium being something that psychiatrists are seeing in most cases as a thing of the past. It helps so many ppl that I personally know. Most new compounded medications have so many side effects; that’s big pharma for us. 😢

Maurice. I watch GH & I LOVE SONNY. I LOVE ELVIS SINCE I WAS 9 YRS OLD & I AM 75 YRS OLD NOW. I have been on cell phone all day & nite looking at everything about ELVIS FOR HIS BIRTHDAY 🎂 & all of a sudden YOU & YOUR SHOW STATE OF MIND CAME ON which I never knew about. I now LOVE YOU MAURICE AS THE PERSON YOU ARE & I THINK YOUR SHOW IS WONDERFUL & I THINK IT IS WONDERFUL WHAT YOU ARE DOING & THE PROGRESS YOU MADE IN YOUR OWN LIFE. I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING WITH SEVERE ANXIETY & DEPRESSION& PTSD FOR 30 YRS. It started when my MOTHER DIED IN 1992. I was the only child. MY MOTHER & I WERE VERY CLOSE SHE WAS MY BEST FRIEND. WE WERE MOTHER & DAUGHTER BUT BEST FRIENDS WE WENT OUT SHOPPING. DINNERS...MOVIES. NEW YORK ETC.ETC. ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE GOT SICK & SUFFERED WITH A MEGA COLON. I TOOK HER TO DRS. & DR. SAID SHE NEEDED TO HAVE SURGERY WHICH SHE WAS AFRAID OF. SHE WAS IN HOSPITAL FOR 2 WKS. & GOT WORSE & WAS SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY DAY AFTER HER BIRTHDAY 68 YRS OLD I WAS WITH HER EVERYDAY & EVE'S. I KISSED HER GOODBYE ON HER BIRTHDAY & SAID ILL SEE YOU TOMMOROW. SURGERY WAS 3:00. I CALLED HOSP. IN MORNING TO CHECK ON HER THEY SAID SHE WAS TIRED & TUMMY HURTS. I LEFT OUR APT. AT 12:30 TO BE WITH HER FOR HER SURGERY. I WALKED INTO HER ROOM & SHE WAS LOOKING AT ME EYES OPEN I WAS TALKING TO HER & SHE WASNT ANSWERING. SHE WAS DEAD. NURSE CAME I WAS CRYING HYSTERICAL. SHE SAID SHE HAD A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK & THEY WORKED ON HER 25 MIN. & SHE DIDNT RESPOND. THEY CALLED ME& I ALREADY HAD LEFT TOBE WITH HER. IT WAS TRAMATIC FOR ME. THEY CALLED MY DAD (THEY WERE SEPARATED) TO BE WITH ME. I HAVE BEEN SEEING A PSYCHIATRIST SINCE THEN & I TRIED ALL KINDS OF ANTIDEPRESSANTS. GOT ALL KINDS OF SIDE EFFECTS. AS OF NOW IM ON 10MG PROZAC. & XANAX FOR MY ANXIETY. I JUST EXIST. I AM ALONE & MY YORKY 17 1/2 YRS OLD DIED 3 YRS AGO & I AM STILL GRIEVING HIM. HIS NAME WAS ELVIS & HE IS IN A BEAUTIFUL URN WITH HIS PICTURE ON IT. I STILL HAVE BAD ANXIETY & PANIC ATTACKS & LONELY & DEPRESSED. THAT IS MY LIFE & I HAVE TERRIBLE FEARS. I relate so much to Dominic still missing his mom, it’ll be 15 years this May that I lost mine and it’s still hard. She was always healthy, never sick, maybe the sniffles every few years. So when she was diagnosed with Dementia, it was a shock and it was quick, a matter of 4 months. There was no time to process the diagnosis before she was gone. She never met my son, her only grandchild. I became pregnant 3 months after she passed. He looked so much like her when he was younger, not so much now, but he still has some of her facial expressions. I see part of her in him.

Raised in a black Baptist church, I believe in the Holy Ghost. It travels through Maurice to become overwhelmed and viewers will see but all will not recognize that God is in his soul.

This was one of your the best State of Mind. I'm in tears. I agree with Laura that it was such a pleasure to care for and be there my mom when she passed in 2019.
My sister is a cancer survivor, she just finished her last radiation treatment last week. I don't think that I could have been there for her, without the strength that I gained from dealing with my mom's illness.

Laura I feel the same way about missing being able to call my mom anymore and now always calling my daughter. Once I had a dream that my mom called me I asked her how it was possible and she said she found away then the phone call got disconnected I will never forget that dream it seemed so real. Also laura I also was with my mom when she was dying at the end she raised her arms in the air and said she was going home to daddy. Maurice another award winning show ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh this was definitely worth the wait. Everyone is so down to earth, and they just drew me in like I was there with them. Thank you all so much for this, as my disability doesn’t allow me to travel to see anyone. It’s good to know I’m not the only one with heartache;losses of parents, ect. The more I watch SOM’s the more it helps my stress and anxiety. I did have to get a Kleenex when Maurice’s longtime friend at the end came out on stage. “Happy tears”. Kudos to Paula. ❤️❤️

Absolutely phenomenal! I was enjoying the “great guests! But then came your long lost friend from 37 long years ago and he finally answered a question I’ve always wondered about. And that is how can someone going through a crisis be given all these different medications that do not seem to work and one side effect can be thoughts of suicide 😮 My heart bleeds for all those given medication that they hope and pray will make them feel a little better but instead it exacerbates their crisis. Without a sound mind what else have you? Let me stop. Happy Birthday Elvis. RIP.

This is part of my therapy. I love this show and all the ideas to help everyone. I am trying to learn how to not abuse myself that I'm not thin enough or worthy enough. There is so much more. But I'm learning. So thank you . Sending ❤️

More Awesome, I just finished watching because it didn't start when the notification said & so I missed the live & then got busy/distracted 🤯 Many times I've wanted to comment, yet decided not to 1st) Tell Paula she's a Super Star ⭐ listening to you & Marcus C & her childhood + adopting her sister - Bold. I have watched GH since 15 (now 59) & Steve/Bradford didn't believe me (went to their comedy show & I am your Huckleberry when you & Steve do your whose 'Guns' 💪 are bigger contest, I got my picture to prove that I am a good candidate 😉) The show was amazing and as a person whose mom was murdered when I was 7 grief comes in waves & it is a forever thing, yet my mother's mom said
"No one is every gone if you remember them."
Unresolved childhood grief & trauma causes our society mentally, financially & spiritually- Kaiser Permanente did a study in the 90's which was fascinating & glad your doctor got his 🌷's & gave you yours. I'm not much for psychology, having abandonment issues went 2 times & no follow up when I didn't return had me thinking it was more about money & she had me hitting a pillow, telling me I was angry with my mom for dying 🤨 Love you & the GH gang, as well as Frank - keep up the great work on GH & with SOM 💋 Smooches

I watched with you but never turn on live chat. I am 61 lost my daddy in 1973 January 22. I was 11. I heard about it on the radio. As. my Aunt had come to get me from school. This was odd. So yes very shocking. I was too young to get in the hospital in 1973. Thank you for this show today. I am one who needed this and God must have known too. Your notification popped up 3 times lol. Well I was amazed an so thankful for that doctor saving you you have had a wonderful life because of him kids 3 grandkids I'm sure it's been rocky to but you made it moe you survived to see your kids grow up an play with those beautiful grandbabies an you have help so many including me blessings an love always

I love my wife Theresa with all of my heart. She watched the soaps as a teenager avidly, back in the teenybopper days of the mid and late 1970s, especially GENERAL HOSPITAL...when it included the "HEARTTHROBS"...

She introduced me and got me hooked on this particular soap. I became a fan of Sonny Corinthos, the character played by Mr. Benard.
Even though the afternoon drama has had its ups and downs of success, I admire Mr. Benard's courage to come clean about his illness...
I strongly support the actor writer publisher movie star (YES! HIS BOOK WAS TERRIFIC READ! HIS TV MOVIES ARE GREAT!)...I wish for my wife to meet him...if ever he travels to NYC...
