He could still do something and be creative. It's intriguiging and also annoying with the repetition of the word or phrase 'High Press'. Liverpool effectively live and breed philosophy. So what has changed is that we don't enforce the dynamic of slowing the game down and dictating pace. It should never resort to basketball and credit I have to say to Mikel Arteta in really getting his players working the ball, all areas of the field.

I went today it was great, and I didn't get hassled/hated as much as I thought, I wore our specially made top for my youngest son (7 yrs) who, unfortunately has DMD a rare life limiting illness. The top I've had made has my son's little logo on back : ANTHONY'S FEARLESS MINI MO'S DMD CLUB. It's half RED an half BLUE!!! And I was so nervous walking to and going into Anfield today with half an Everton top on! I got a few funny looks and comments from a couple of Celtic fans! But all good from our mighty Red Fans. 👍❤️so Thanx to them.

Gerrard (and MacAllister) got serious stick all game obviously But gotta love his class at the end. I just knew as the teams went around he'd go past the Celtic fans and applaud them. He got respectful acknowledgement - they appreciated that: balls & class. The Celtic players originally only went to their fans then stood aroungd the tunnel but after seeing that they went around the stadium

@@BR-sc4hf Gerrard managed Celtic's biggest rival, Rangers, and went on the win the league unbeaten and broke many records in that season. Rangers and Celtic are the two biggest clubs in Scotland but for almost a decade back Rangers had lost they footing in the league. Gerrard basically took Rangers back to their former glory and stopped Celtic's dominance in the Scottish League (Celtic won 9 titles in a row). So yea, Gerrard was a hero to the Rangers and a sore spot for the Celtic fans. The reports also mentioned that the Celtic fans jeered at Gerrard during the game.
@@johnnychin it was literally a fluke during the closed-doors covid season. During Gerrard's time in Scotland, there were 9 trophies up for grabs. Celtic won 7 of those. And Gerrard's Rangers won one. I will be absolutely delighted should that ratio continue to be considered "success" by the Sevco fans and cheerleaders. Former glory? Lol An absolute fluke league title that wouldn't have happened were it not for a global pandemic.

Was at the game today and got to say the Celtic support was magnificent - the noise from the Anfield Road end was sensational. Th Kop was unusually quiet. Was great how fans all intermingled/sat together - the cultural ties between the 2 clubs are well known. Had some great craic with some of the Bhoys sat behind,
Because to celtic playing Liverpool is their world cup final but to Liverpool playing celtic is no different to playing a non league club. The gulf between the two clubs is colossal in every way imaginable.

It's only when you see these sorts of games that you really understand how dedicated top level football players have to be to keep their body in incredible condition. You see Gerrard in a suit doing coverage for channel 4 on the England games and he doesn't look that much different to what you remember but it's only when you see him in a football kit how different that level of fitness is when you're playing top flight football week in and week out.

The skills, the technique, the movements are still there.
In my opinion, current players lack the skills, the technique, the movements of former players. It seems current players only exercise their bodies. It seems they simply don't train fundamentals -- such as shooting, passing, dribbling, as well as ball control and tactical awareness.
