  • "Time, Talent & Treasure: The David Crowley Story" is a powerful and inspiring documentary that chronicles the remarkable journey of David Crowley, Milwaukee County’s youngest and first Black-elected County Executive, as he reflects on the path to earning his bachelor’s degree.
From his humble beginnings in Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code-an area with one of the highest incarceration rates of Black men in the nation-Crowley defied the odds through resilience, hope, and determination. This short film takes viewers to the places that shaped his life and leadership, including his family’s first home they were evicted from, Bay View High School where he was introduced to the mentors that changed his life, the Milwaukee County Courthouse where he now works as the County Executive, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned his bachelor's degree in December of 2024.
Filmed in the days leading up to his graduation and culminating with the moving commencement ceremony on December 15, this story is a testament to the power of perseverance, education, and community. It showcases how one leader turned personal trials into a career of public service, inspiring others to embrace their own potential for triumph.
