Thanks for video. I’m not a fireman. I’m a homeowner who uses his ladder 1-2 times a year for hanging Christmas lights or cleaning gutters. Like the video I rotate the fly out for climbing. What is the safety reason for that? Is the ladder stronger in that position? Have a friend telling me not to rotate because it’s easier to fall backwards as you leave the fly to step onto the base reaching in with your foot for the rung. Who is right? Please advise. Thank you

Maybe one of the reasons is so that you’re not getting caught up in the halyard as you climb
