He has already travelled the world, can speak to people in their own language (always a plus) and he seems like an open, intelligent person. Mostly because conservative and liberal are self applied terms - but anywho cross party voting is good. He tries to convince unaware people he is somehow a centrist, but is as radical as any of the other democrat candidates. And if he crawls up from his current pill number, all of his actual policy positions will be revealed and exposed.

@@toonceshere9668 1) he's not for stacking the SC. Yes, he wants to add more justices to the Court, but in a way that makes the court apolitical. This is both better and more sustainable than so-called stacking. His current idea is to let each party select five justices. Those 10 total justices then select five more justices, and must agree unanimously on each of those five additional justices, for a total of 15 justices.
      2) Why shouldn't the electoral college be abolished? It is an anti-democratic institution that unfairly weights votes. Don't hit me with the "tyranny of the majority" argument about avoiding "coastal and urban elitism", either. I'd rather have "tyranny" of the majority, than an actual tyranny elected by a minority of the population (which is what the electoral college enables).
      3) He supports a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens who have not committed crimes aside from the crossing. By and large, illegal immigrants are peaceful and productive members of this society and ultimately deserve to be able to call this place home, free from persecution. In fact, illegal immigrants commit fewer violent crimes than white Americans :) Can't find any support for him being pro-"open borders."
      4) He actually supports "Medicare for those who want it". In other words, create a public option for healthcare that anybody can choose as a proof of concept. If it is cheaper and providing better care than private options, people will naturally flock to it and further reform can go from there. This is actually a really smart idea; public and affordable option for those who want / need it, and private for those who don't want their "freedoms [to have overly expensive healthcare] violated". Win-win scenario.
      5) Extreme problems require radical solutions. Climate change is one of the biggest problems facing the planet today. America can help lead the way to a better, greener, more sustainable future while using the innovation necessary to solve it for our own economic advancement. Or, we can die by the fossil and let climate change take its course--causing famine, economic disparity, and legitimate migration crises.
      6) See above. Obesity is a huge drag on our healthcare system. Soda is terrible for people and contributes a large amount toward obesity. I can't find support for Pete saying he is outright in favor of such a ban (I mean, if he is in favor of such a ban, why hasn't he implemented one of his own? He is mayor of a city, after all...), but he has said that it came from a "pragmatist, business-oriented mayor who realized there is a pretty high social cost to obesity." Which is true. I think what he's getting at here, is that he wants to find other pragmatist solutions to helping alleviate the social costs caused by obesity.
      7) I have no idea how that could be a bad thing. Sexual orientation and gender identity are no more chosen by oneself than the color of their skin. These pieces of one's identity should absolutely be protected from discrimination by our laws and society. God commands his followers to love thy neighbor: that includes gays, lesbians, trans people, and others, in addition to those with a more traditional gender and sexual identity. Loving and including these folks does not get in the way of your relationship with God or prevent you religious freedom. Contrarily, failing to love them or discriminating against them absolutely does harm your relationship with God.

Why were you under the assumption that they aren't already talking to people who don't look like them. Are you implying that you, yourself do not talk to people who don't look like you? Did this statement come out as a reflection of who you are. But now that you want to win, you are wanting to talk to us. Now, that doesn't seem very genuine. We, the people of color are forced to talk to whites whether we like it or not. It is not an option for us like how it is for you.

Even in this video, when he's describing his generation, he's describing Gen X -- the first generation to be (potentially) worse off than their parents. So, you imagine this coordinated attack on Pete to be something to brag about? This might be regarded tragicomically ironic -- if what you want is to get bullies out of the WH and Congress.
Pete offers actual conversations, and he values the soundest ideas. If Yang´s gang claims automation or Basic Income as new ideas (Yang knows better) it reflects poorly on their education and/or manners. In Sweden, we all learnt about the industrial revolution and unions in school, about economies of scale and environmental impact, all in time for Agenda 21 (1992). To think such talk would be impressive or come across as new to Pete is very naive. Pete went to the finest schools -- to study Economy, Philosophy and Political Science. Does anyone honestly think he would have been a consultant at McKinsey without such basic understanding of socio-economics? Market-based innovation is a starting-point in South Bend, where skilled auto-work left most of a generation feeling superfluous, scrambling for a new sustainable source of income… How about this Yang gang "think harder" before attacking someone Trump style?
