I only purchase pillows with 100% polyester outer shells and that is what I use for my sublimation projects including a picture on the bears Paw. Great video! Just clarifying that sublimation is actually when a solid turns to a gas without passing through the liquid stage, not liquid to a gas without passing through the solid stage 😊. Also, I add my Heat n Bond to the edge of the poly first instead of to the shirt. That way it’s always in the right spot. 😊

      Thanks for the Heat n Bond tip. I’ll give it a shot but have to say I’m still a bit skeptical. I did have it placed correctly but it simply would not stick to a degree that made it saleable . The funny thing is that I had this stuff I had bought at a yardsale. Never knew exactly what it was... turned out to be a version of the Heat n Bond ( and theres a full role of it )! lol! It holds stronger than the other product so I’m using that! Still wouldn’t sale because I just don’t trust any of it enough... But use it for my own shirts!!

    • @FullHouseFancies
      @FullHouseFancies 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beinok it only takes a little heat. If you overheat it, it breaks down the adhesive and won’t stay bonded. So make sure you follow the directions closely.

    I absolutely love this video. You are such a great instructor! And I agree with you 100% that the Gildan shirts are getting worse. You just can't even forget that you have bleach on them and leave tehem in the sun too loing, or you get holes UGH!!

    You can get stickers off with a hairdryer. You will still have the sticky left behind, however, you can use goo gone to remove that off the mat.

    I have noticed the difference in the shirts with pieces of thread hanging and even have gotten some with little round holes in them!...I use Gildan 6400 as well....I can say they have been awesome at replacing any with the small holes!....Definitely going to try making this type of shirt for my girls!!

    You can also use the microfiber sheets that you find at Walmart. or pillowcases. I've done that and it works great. microfiber fabric is apparently polyester.

    Loved your video! I’m going to try this! One suggestion on the Freddy shirt- I’m wondering if it you made the design with a background so it was rectangular? The other shirt didn’t have the white and with the Freddy one I think the white is a little distracting. Easy fix just make a rectangle and fill it, then put your design in it and print. I do love the look. Nice work!

    Gildan is close to where I’m located. They are evidently short staffed as there are hiring signs everywhere.

    • @EmmasCottage
      @EmmasCottage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't it so sad! Everywhere is begging and desperate for employees! I'll still stay devoted to Gilden, they will always be my go to shirt! I keep the damaged shirts and use them for test shirts. I wish them the best of luck in getting their warehouses back up to their best operating potential!

    The satin pillow cases from the Dollar Tree would be perfect for this!

      Can you sublimate on satin? So I need to spray polyurethane on it first or something?

    • @EmmasCottage
      @EmmasCottage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stacee - Yes, as long as the satin is 100% poly. But you typically want to press it for only 45 seconds with much less pressure.
