Pongal is an Harvest festival. Celebrated by all Tamils irrespective of religion/caste or creed. Same like Onam is celebrated by all keralite. And Sankranti by Telegu/ kannada people. It's Thanksgiving to God for the abundant Harvest. And seeking god's grace, blessing for the year ahead.
