I never listen to Moby's music, but this song is very important to me: when I was an 11 or 12 year-old-boy my father brought me, my mother and my brother to a special place to enjoy our vacations. My father drove his old grey FIAT Tipo for almost 2 hours and during the trip we saw only clouds and rain in the sky, so everyone of us thought that our vacation was ruined. My father was very calm and when we arrived to the place (North-West of Sardinia) he said: "Ok, let's stop and have a breakfast. Don't mind about the weather, just think about the breakfast". We entered in a bar and we ordered our breakfast (croissants, coffee and other italian stuff, you know). There was a TV on a wall and THIS song was playing on MTV. Suddenly, at 1:50, all the clouds were gone and a bright sun appeared in the sky. Everything was wet and a lot of droplets were running on the window panes because the previous rain, so everything started to shine like diamonds. My father looked out of the window pane and smiled, putting his Ray-Ban on. That day me and my brother enjoyed a super day in the beach, playing in a crystal clear water. It was great. Sometimes I think about my father. I miss him. But it's ok: there are other worlds than this. He's only driving his FIAT Tipo in another one, with a different destination, with different passengers.
What a beautiful memory to cherish! Your father seemed to always look on the bright side of life. I'm sure he'd be proud of you to see you are able to remember him with a smile on your face. I like to imagine my mother and my husband, both gone way too soon, siiting with him in his Fiat, driving through the diamonds...
Ive been looking for this song about 10 years, i don't know how it is possible but i had forgotten about this song and YESTERDAY somehow thought about this song and realized ill never find it. I remember hearing it in 2002 as a kid, but couldnt remember any lyrics, so it was almost impossible to find it. Today i watched a random car video with this playing in background. I grabbed my phone and used shazam and i finally found it! I can't believe it, after 10 years :D

A spiritual hug for your wife. She is in her spiritual plane sending you light of love. This song is very sad. You and your wife will always be together.

I don’t know if you’ll ever realize how much this song has touched thousands and thousands of people. Through joy, grief, peace of mind, relief, despair, sorrow, bliss… there are sooo many human feelings that can relate through this song. This is a genuine masterpiece, and I’ve been coming back to it regularly for over twenty years, and it’s not about to stop. Just, thank you.
I have to admit.. I feel very nostalgic right now. This was the song I listened during my teenage years so many times. Time sure flies by faster and faster after each year.
That's because as you get older, you learn less and less. Childhood seems so long because you're at school 5 days a week and learning new things, triggering long term memories to be created, thus when you look back it seems like it was around forever. As adults, we are programmed to work and do the same thing every day until we retire, hardly learning anything new, meaning you don't trigger as many long term memories, making your days seem faster and faster.

I went to the beach one day this summer and I remember the water was so transparent, so calm and beautiful, I swear I could hear this music playing in my head while I was diving and swimming again and again
Lyrics In my dreams I'm dying all the time Then I wake it's kaleidoscopic mind I never meant to hurt you I never meant to lie So this is goodbye? ko kaido, yeah well. Lets face it. Who cares, the American election was a fucking clown fiesta lols. It was basically like; Either you vote for a clown or a child. So who can blame him for being a supporter of either one?
this song use to relax me, when i was at my last year of school... waking up at 6 am and listening this great songs on MTV, oh the late 90's and 2000 i miss those days
I remember hearing this song when I was about five years old. I can still picture it clearly: me and my mum were driving in a car. Unfortunately, I didn't know English at that time, so later it was impossible for me to find the song. Remembering only the word "Goodbye" and persistence helped to me find this masterpiece! So here I am :) moby is my eternal love

similar story, I heard it from a TV ad, and it turns out that my sis was able to tell me who the artiste was after I tried to hum in after 12 years of fruitless search
This is a track that takes me back to 1999' The year that I first went to Ibiza with great friends and went with Manumission holidays. I instantly go back to that summer as soon as I hear these sounds from that great musical year! The year I worked on Friday night as a resident DJ at Sophisticats, Westminster's First Lapdance Club as featured on the Sky TV series, Naked in Westminster Fridays I used to play more Club style tracks and the great staff and managers used to love it, as did I... And the roadie that often offered to carry my cd bags at the time 😜 It was a year while I was still 'Twice Weekly Resident at London's Infamous Limelight Nightclub, and this was often dropped in my sets, even though I was playing the 70s & 80s nights in the basement, I still used to mix it up a bit ... What a turning point for Mody, taking him from Coffee Shops in New York to international superstardom and creating an Album that still helps define an era Sit back, listen and you can picture the end of the last Millennium, a time when life seemed less disruptive, the Euro Currency was only just about to begin, the London Eye was still getting constructed, and nobody was yet panicking about the millennium bug that wasn't to be... I often heard this playing in coffee shops and bars in Johannesburg and I was absolutely convinced (having no idea who this was) that it was actually a South African song -- that "eh eh oa" and whatever he sings after, sounds so much like Zulu or something similar to me. So I was totally amazed to find that this was Moby. I rate the piano line in this as one of the greatest melodic riffs ever, it brings chills to me every time. The girl's voice is totally haunting, this is how less becomes so much more. For me, this is completely THE end-of-the-millennium tune, it somehow captured everything, intense nostalgia for things you will never know. Listening to it again, it still sounds like Zulu to me. What comes after "eh eh oa" at [2:40] ? It sounds like "woba siswangati". It's like "we shall..." do something in Zulu. I am really intrigued.

so do i.. i was born 1990, and thought this song so annoyed and silly, but now i realized that i was wrong.. its something more than music, sometimes its just like told you bout another life that the words cant explain.
You are right. You can't expect from 10 Y old child to know what is good music.I 'm also born in 89,and l remember this song, beacause l became a brother in 2000,and maybe.. because of euro 2000.
My favourite moment is where her eye twitches at 2:34 . Like the song is going to end, but it doesn't end and continues; just like you, when you're listening and watching this song (yes, this song is to be watched) for the first time. I'm 23 and I'm tired enough to see that I need to be understood by some woman in the song. I don't think that there is a justice anywhere near this situation. Yet I still have a phone, powerful enough to play this song a zillion times, people who like me, person who really loves me and feelings those are vivid enough to hold on. Stay with me honey. For the plurality of thousands of 1 years; you shall be beside me.
In my dreams I'm dying all the time Then I wake its kaleidoscopic mind I never meant to hurt you I never meant to lie So this is goodbye This is goodbye Tell the truth you never wanted me Tell me In my dreams I'm jealous all the time And I wake I'm going out of my mind Going out of my mind
This song gives the feeling of ultimate achievement. Happily reaching to the end of something marvellous. Like you can be proud forever. Had heard it 12 years ago in one of the documentaries and was playing in my ear ever since. Whenever I was listening something new was thinking is it that music? Finally today I heard it in one of the shopping mall in Azerbaijan and Shazamed it :)

I hear this song whenever I'm alone!!!
Lyrics
In my dreams I'm dying all the time
Then I wake it's kaleidoscopic mind
I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to lie
So this is goodbye?
This is goodbye
Tell the truth, you've never wanted me
Tell me
In my dreams I'm jealous all the time
When I wake I'm going out of my mind
Going out of my mind

Moby, one of the most unique musicians to ever walk the earth
Akhnaten Try Sigur Ros :)
I like how he took the old slave songs and remixed them so everyone could hear them and know the story.
I agree that he's an exceptional artist but you can't be the "most unique". Either you're unique or you're not.
SongBillong.
Yeah innit people can be unique in little different ways.
ko kaido, yeah well. Lets face it. Who cares, the American election was a fucking clown fiesta lols. It was basically like; Either you vote for a clown or a child. So who can blame him for being a supporter of either one?
This song reminds me, how time can go so quick, from 12-40, 28 years can just fly.

This is a track that takes me back to 1999'
The year that I first went to Ibiza with great friends and went with Manumission holidays. I instantly go back to that summer as soon as I hear these sounds from that great musical year!
The year I worked on Friday night as a resident DJ at Sophisticats, Westminster's First Lapdance Club as featured on the Sky TV series, Naked in Westminster
Fridays I used to play more Club style tracks and the great staff and managers used to love it, as did I... And the roadie that often offered to carry my cd bags at the time 😜
It was a year while I was still 'Twice Weekly Resident at London's Infamous Limelight Nightclub, and this was often dropped in my sets, even though I was playing the 70s & 80s nights in the basement, I still used to mix it up a bit ...
What a turning point for Mody, taking him from Coffee Shops in New York to international superstardom and creating an Album that still helps define an era
Sit back, listen and you can picture the end of the last Millennium, a time when life seemed less disruptive, the Euro Currency was only just about to begin, the London Eye was still getting constructed, and nobody was yet panicking about the millennium bug that wasn't to be...

Finally found it after 15 years. God bless my memory. What a relief when u find what is lost..
I’ll recommend ‘a tune for jack’ by lemon jelly, it’s got a similar piano riff
I'm from Botswana and i agree with you
i genuinely thought that those chants in the background where Nguni.
This is still my favorite song from Moby. It just sounds to good.
