An interesting and insightful conversation. Just a thought. Yes, homosexuality may not be the biggest issue confronting our society at the moment, but that doesn't mean the Church and believers alike keep it aside for a later time. It will grow as we sleep and will eventually become uncontrollable as it has become in the West. And the destruction it can cause to society is frightening. Even the very notion of gender is now under attack in the West, which I belive is a result of mainstreaming/normalizing such lifestyles. The Bible is very clear on the issue of homosexuality and as such I feel one should not shy away from stating exactly what the Bible says and justify our silence as love.

Yes, pastor you made absolute sense from the beginning till the end. A very stimulating watch. So, many takeaways from this one:
    1) Stop blaming the church for everything. Let the Church be the 'conscience of the state.’
    2) There are bigger issues than homosexuality confronting today's Church
    3) Be careful of what you wish for when it comes to the prohibition issue
Aside from that, pastor's view on the Church and clean election was a fresh perspective. This being said the Church's involvement in the Clean election and it's subsequent failure and success is a big social question that cannot be answered subjectively. There are so many variables involved and each requires an in-dept analysis. Remember that correlation is not always causation.
    4) Don't look to the Church for entertainment purpose.
The approach towards personal losses and the healing process was tackled with sensitivity and visible empathy.
Congratulations to the host and the guest for the great insights.
Best wishes for the upcoming episodes 🙂

First time viewer and now a subscriber. I had occasion to have a one-on-one conversation with Visasier Acüu during his stay in the US. Amongst other subjects, we spoke about how science and spirituality do not preclude each other. His perspective of approaching the Unknown with humility and awe is refreshing.
I am extremely impressed by this eloquent discussion between a couple of young gentlemen who are able to listen to each other and present their individual viewpoints respectfully.

Another wonderful episode Asalie. One thing I want to make things clear which Pastor didnt. The Bible's view on wine is as similar as it is on wealth. It's only the effects of those two that are condemned i.e drunkard and greed. The verse 'do not gaze at wine..' is a proverb that very similar to 'for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.' There has been more crime for greed/money than crimes done under the influence of alcohol. The hypocrisy lies within the society where alcohol is singled out as a gateway to sin. In conclusion, to answer your question, no the Bible does not condemn 'drinking'.

Finally got to watch this episode. A very refreshing take on the role of religion and its relevance in modern Naga Society. Great job on bringing someone like him here.
Homosexuality should definitely be discussed, and accepted in my opinion. But "acceptance" shouldn't go overboard like it is going on in the West today.
Prohibition should be lifted Yesterday. I totally agree with the ML King quote. Just because a substance is abused doesn't mean it should be banned. Drug abuse exists, do we ban medicines? No! Gluttony is a Sin, do we ban food? No!! It's the person and his mindset, not the substance. However, due caution is required and proper steps should be implemented before lifting the Act. When the Church gets involved in Legislation, then the Church indeed is getting involved in "Politics" The Government needs to step up their game!
Corruption and multiple taxation is the most important topic that should be discussed today, not Prohibition or Homosexuality. Since "Money is the root of all evil", shouldn't the Church ban money too? Corruption and Extortion is the bane of the Naga Society today. We don't even need the Bible or any other Holy Books to see what corruption can do to a society.
Totally enjoyed this episode. And on a side note, the audio was a bit conky this time 😁. More power to you both

    I love your podcast.
It has shown me that Nagaland has her fair share of thinkers, educators, poets, writers and the like. I enjoyed this podcast too. It was eye opening for me in a lot of ways. Just reinforced the fact that Nagaland is not necessarily Christian but christianized.
Just a couple of observations. Alcoholics are not the worst of sinners. Bur having said that, we cannot ignore the far-reaching and long-lasting consequences of alcohol addiction. It is one of the major causes of divorce and accidents and although not mentioned in the ten commandments, a person under the influence of alcohol ends up breaking quite a few of them. Children from such homes are traumatised. Sobriety is a gift that alcohol robs one of.
I was surprised to hear you as a pastor say that homosexuality is not a threat to society. The Bible calls it an abomination. Maybe your church is progressive and you pick and choose what you believe or explain the hard verses away from the Bible. But family as God intended it to be and which is the unit of society is being threatened by gay marriages. Maybe I misunderstood you and if so I do apologise.

My dear naga brothers and sisters we need to seek the Lord while he can be found cuz it will be too late someday. Ask yourself this question that if you die tomorrow will you go to heaven or hell. Look at the cemeteries some are long in length and some are short cause Tomorrow ain't promised. If God is all powerful and that which in Deuteronomy 32:39 says God gives and takes life, how could God not have taken the life of the little innocent kid which would contradict the above verse and again let's say he didn't took the life of that child and God grief along with the parents', that doesn't make him an all powerful God - it defies all logic.
In another angle, let's say God grief with parents of all the innocent child death's happening around the world, then how long will he keep on grieving, it doesn't make sense at all!
Coming back again to the first para that if God has not taken the life of the kid then who took it??
And in conclusion does God really answer prayers? Mathew 7:7 says ask and it shall be given to you-
Proverbs 15:29 says, 'God hears the prayer of the righteous ' .
Was then all the prayers for healing the child in vain, that there were not even a single righteous people among the prayer group's or the above verse is false which can't be as it is said that every word in the Bible is true to its essence.
The truth, they say is hard to digest.
