How to make your bash history persist in a dev container

How to store your bash history in a dev container so that it is still present after a rebuild.

Can't we just mount ["source=${host-home-dir}/.zsh_history,target=/{$workspace-home-dir}/"] ??

how to properly mount/alias the home dir of the container to the "workspace" where the .devcontainer is?
simply mounting the 'local' workspace into the ~ makes some weird issues with apt file paths...
