    I want to see this woods from Brasil: Roxinho, Angelim, Sucupira, Ipê, Arueira...

      This is Californian Redwood but Peterson Sawmills regularly saw wood as hard, and harder than those woods for example, Australian Ironwood and Tuart with 11kN -16kN onwards (see Janka Scale)

    Why don't you just do a straight 10 inch cut underside in one go...?? Instead of 2, (two) 5 inch cuts...?? The blade is big enough to easily do a 10 inch cut... Wastes time, and fuel. Seems counter productive to me.

      Yes you are absolutely right, you could do the horizontal cut in one bite - the blade is definitely large enough. However you would have to slow down a fair bit for the large cut, and these experienced millers have established that it's actually faster AND easier on the blade to do it in two bites.

      It also renders a truer cut. The wood can cause the blade to wander in the grain on larger cuts. This happens on the horizontal and not the vertical.
