First time watching you, one fellow Atlantic Canadian to another, NB here. Last year I loosely followed the challenge, however this year I said I am jumping in with both feet. Fortunately we get a veggie box every other week and a meat box once a month, from an organic farm however that has been paid for since last September. Between Christmas and New Years and up until last weekend, I took the time and did a full inventory of my home canned goods, then my pantry shelves of store bought canned goods and my baking supplies and spices. I am keeping a food log, to keep track of our meals each day, as well as my baking and cooking. Today was the first day, January 9, that I didn’t have something I needed, hot dog buns. My husband said give yourself a break and go buy some! I said nope and made hot dog and hamburger buns. Our grandson is coming today after school and I am making chili dogs for supper. Great job, new subscriber here.
Love how it really helps to think outside the usual and make do with what you have. Great job making buns, we are having burgers tonight on homemade buns!
New friend here. I love the January pantry challenge because it brings such a sense of community to YT, and it's a hoot seeing inside everyone's pantries, freezers and seeing what they have on the menu. Love seeing what people in other countries are up to with food and their stores prices, too. ❤
I think you are eating very well. I know you will be able to stick to $25 week average easily, if you want to. It's just those pesky sales keep enticing me.
I love the wiener boats you did. When the kids were all at home, anytime we had left over mashed potatoes we would do Bologna boats. Kids absolutely loved it.
Great meals! I’ve never made wonton soup, bet it was delicious. It’s nice having stuff made ahead. I ate mini pizzas for supper that I had here that I made in December. I’m thinking I’ll make more to freeze. Yeah I think you’ll do fine with $25. You’ll get a lot of vegetables from Gateway, maybe a Flashfood box . More milk. I know it adds up. I won’t s $25 gift card from our new No frills and was trying to decide what I’d buy. I’m pretty much stocked for months. But as soon as I started adding up it I was like well I guess that doesn’t go far,,lol but I’m happy to have it. I might just get a bag of skim milk powder it’s about $25 there. Lol look forward to seeing how you do for week two. 😊
So nice to be able to have a quick meal but still have homemade. I loved having the freezer meals in the summertime. Agreed $25 doesn’t go far but every dollar counts, so glad to hear the grand opening was worth it ❤️
I’m going to stick to cash only, I was going to try to do no spend but I really don’t want to go a whole month without milk and some fresh fruit and veg. I have full access to my pantry though so lots of choices. My daughter is already asking for wonton soup again!

Thank you so much for watching! I also love seeing everyone’s menu ideas and organization ❤️
Wow. Lovely soup

I’m still looking at the flyers but trying my best to resist, have to remind myself the sales will most likely come around again in a couple months.

So simple and the kids love them, sometimes we wrap them in dough and do pretzel dogs.

What is blend
It’s cream that is 10% milk fat, my hubby likes it in his coffee.
