- Hey guys!
This is the first of the Before You Build series. The goal of this type of content is to bring awareness of small details when building custom keyboards. Our rectangular pieces of plastic/metal cost us a lot of time and money and I wanted to point out some things that I think may help you prevent making a mistake that you could regret. With that being said, I hope you enjoy the video. There was a lot of footage that was blurrier than I would have liked so I apologize in advance for that. I am new to video and sound recording, so I want learning more and more every day! With that being said, I only have a few pointers in this video, but hopefully will be able to do more thorough builds from start to finish.
In this video, we'll mainly be talking about applying the gaskets and the best way to close the case every time!

Thanks! This was my first time doing any sort of voiceover/editing so I’m glad it wasn’t terrible :D. I’m also still learning more everyday so it’s my goal to get better and better with every release

Do you like this durock switches in way of feel and sounding? Do you find them better then durock pom? And have you tried other linear switches?
Hi xto! I’d say for the price of the durocks, they are highest for me in terms of all around smoothness. The “clack” sound they make is also doable for me, but I like to mute my boards with foam to minimize the high pitch sound even further. Durock poms are smoother when comparing side by side lubed and filmed, but the longer stem pole in the durock poms ruin the bottom out feel for me and cause a really loud clack to me, so I really don’t them since the overall feel/sound isn’t what I like. I’ve also used gateron black inks and those are close to the real durocks except for a higher price and lower sound. Hope this helps!

Nice catch! It’s actually a mat from GemPlayMats, so not quite a spellground, but close enough. I did used to play Yu-Gi-Oh a few years back
@@h_mmus3550 Haha dope, same I played yugi too. Still have some of my spellgrounds and deckboxes laying around. Can't get myself to sell them for some reason. I always say I am going to unretire but then never do it lol.

I dont see how putting side gaskets on first helps with the build. Even when the top gaskets are installed onto the top case first, there is still room below top gaskets for the side gaskets to sit on as seen from other build videos, so what exactly is the reason here?
