  • We have designed KC868-M16 (ESP32 16 Channel CT Clamp Energy Monitor) for home automation DIYer. it can easy integrate to home assistant by ESPHome. the hardware have 16CH CT Clamp sensor INPUT ports + 3CH analog input + Ethernet + WiFi + Bluetooth + DS3231 RTC module + SSD1306 I2C LCD display + SD card.

    Very nice board. I will wait to buy a Version 2 if these modifications are made:
    - not so big board (tall) (maybe by removing LCD and SD)
    - integrate voltage reading
    -optional jack or screw terminal so the jack does not use up so much space
    You do great products and hope to buy in the near future in a version 2.😊

    So for power (watts) we would need to duplicate the example for each channel like you did in Channel 1 right? Other than that it should be no tuning? What about CT clamps with burden resistors?

    Now that iotawatt is stopping production you should start to become one of the dominant players. Your main competitor would be Emporia as it too has 16 channels. Only wish it was more affordable in Australia.

      board have plastic shell can install to DIN RAIL, CT clamp not need to use DIN RAIL.

      M16 board mainly use for monitor current. there is a way, install a modbus energy meter to detect real time voltage and power factor. so that in ESPHome , just use real time voltage * M16's current = power value.

    Nice work!! But we need voltage measurements. Preferable 3, for 3 phase systems.
    Due to time differences (and an extra device) i am afraid that power / pf measurements are incorrect.

      My question was not accurate.
      Yes after the inverter the current is AC but we can have a positive or negative curent. To know if we inject or buy electricity the measure is absolute or with a sign+- ?

      @@sebseb319 this board only use for test AC power, not for DC power. if you want to test DC power, you can chose any our other board, just use by digital input port is ok. then convert your DC power to a TTL level signal or 12V or 0V signal.

    Too bad you didn't add the electronics to monitor in real-time the value of line voltage and also the power factor which can make a huge difference between real power consumption vs this estimation

      M16 board mainly use for monitor current. there is a way, install a modbus energy meter to detect real time voltage and power factor. so that in ESPHome , just use real time voltage * M16's current = power value.

      @@gubbernl 3*analog input use for dc 0-5v signal. yes, specialised DAC /power meter chip for that, if want to read ac load's voltage.
