    Noone ever gives the ground guy credit for keeping that skilled operator in line. Raking the edges and checking his work with strings. Usually only hand signals to save time. Great job dude.

    Driver does a good job. But. I ran the G720B for a few years. Then upgraded to a G940 It is the best blade I have ever ran. Has the weight, power, 11 speed transmission shuttle shift. Can’t say enough good about it. Very little repairs in last 8 years. I’ve ran Galion, John Deere,caterpillar, and Volvo over the years. The Volvo G940 is awesome. Only problem I have is the idiots in charge quit making them in the US/Canada area.😕

    So, these new machines, can you actually set a height or position on a digital readout and keep that setting? can you set a laser tower and integrate that into your set settings? It's not eyeballing it anymore looking at stakes?

      Asi solo se trabaja en el tercer mundo. En europa el marterial a extender primero se recoge una muestra y se lleva a laboratorio para hacer pruebas. Despues el material se riega y compacta en obra, y el laboratorio te indica y comprueba con la sonda radioactiva cuanta humedad necesita y cuanto has de compactar. Respecto a las estacas en este caso no las necesitas, ni mucho menos un topografo en obra cuando tienes una referencia excelente como es el bordillo de hormigon

    I appreciate being able to watch the operators technique, but as someone who is wanting to re-enter this type of work, is it possible to get some info on tricks of the trade? e.g. position of the blade pitch and angle for trimming, speed/gear used for the material being spreas and why? How to know if you have to right moisture content for the material being used and the best ways to approach the job and how to maintain a crown. Where to position the machine in relation to the centre line etc...
    I have a youtube channel just so you know these are genuine questions. Sincerely Adrian.

    • @TPTimi
      @TPTimi  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! So I will tell you how we work here the angle is about 2-5% but it can change during corners. We usually work in the 1 gear because we can be more accurate if you go to the second gear is just to fast. The moisture you can see it if you just pure a little bit of water you will be fine but it can change if you have more material. And you always push the material where you need it. I will actually do a video on how to operate the grader and what to look for in the future. I hope I explained good enough if you have any more question feel free to ask.

      Are you using GPS ? After 17 years , I have just started using GPS and it is amazing. Compared to string lines and grade stakes its probably the best thing since sliced bread. Great job by the way.

    You're right about the back up alarm, that's a liability for the company,i made a living operating a motor grader, I learned from my mistakes trying to be the fastest horse,measure twice ,cut once,theres a time and place for needing to go quick,did you notice there are no roadwork ahead signs,as far as I can see
