I'm unable to come up with words for the man who turned down $7 million dollars to capture orcas! Way to go! To turn down THAT MUCH MONEY for animals says something so profound about his heart and beliefs. WOW! YOU ARE AN INCREDIBLE PERSON! THANK YOU!

Yes he is, but it also tell's how terrible it must be to capture young whales from their families!! Have you thought about that?? In blackfish this old man was in war's and he said capturing the baby orca's was the worst thing he ever witnessed!!

I am from Russia and I've been to the oceanarium in Moscow. I did not know that they had orcas. The first time I saw Narnia, Naya and Nord, my heart dropped. I could not believe that I can even witness these amazing creatures. I watched them for 20 minutes and noticed many scars and bites, their boring pool with some king of plastic box at the bottom and the way they were grabbing the attention. They really wanted people to like them. They played with us by touching the glass between their pool and the area where we were standing with their nose, they were laying on each other and were making us gasp by suddenly appearing out of the area at the top of us, where we could not see them. I was fascinated by how smart they are. Orcas acted like real humans. But then I realised how sad and desperate they are. It felt wrong that such creatures are kept in this prison, where there is nothing to explore and experience. I saw everything in their eyes. I started crying quetly because I felt so bad for them. 30 minutes passed, people around me went to see the diving show and I was still standing there whispering that I was so sorry for even supporting all of this by paying for the ticket. Narnia swam closer (I knew it was her, because the was the biggest one) and she did not move. I told her once again that I was sorry and that I wish she lived better life. She swam very close to the glass and we were just standing like this for some time. I left and never came back, but I remembered her eyes forever.

I've never seen a killer whale show as a kid I did wont to but then im 26 now and I love researching stuff and my favourite film was free willy but then I researched that and I was crying at the end of my research as the things them animals go though just to make us happy it makes me sick that people will go out on boats to go catch one to sell and in that process some die just so thet can earn money I wish to god that this did not ever happen im an animal love dont matter what animal it is and makes me think we can do that to a wahle but you won't try that with a pitbull or another dog like that as that person would get fucked up by the dog but can do it to them its sick its wrong I agree with you and your problem is just starting as Russia is only just starting and China all im gonna say is save the whale's get them back where they belong in the ocean and seas we can always get a boat and go watch them don't by tickets to see a show its wrong and cruel but for them word to make an impact I need loads of people to agree so then we can try help save the animals and get them to that sanctuary and live in peace and have everything they need not everything cuz they don't have a pod to go back to but most things they will have
@@kylenelson8998 I agree with you, but I think this problem wont become worse in Russia because people here are not really fond of circus, zoo or oceanarium. They rarely go there and only with kids. Maybe Moskvarium (oceanarium in Moscow that I was talking about) will survive for some time because it is located in the capital city, but I dont think that they will last too long. My only concern is that they can start breeding orcas...
My husband wanted to go to Sea World and I flat out refused. I always though it was horrible for these huge Orcas to be kept in a little pool and how prison like it was. I wish this would all end completely.
I hope you educated him on why you didn’t want to go and why you SHOULDN’T. Education is the number one step in order to help these animals!!
I 'got to go to Marine World Africa, USA', (It was awful), when I was 15yrs old.
The park had many other things to do, rides to ride & what-not. I did go to see the Whale Show, but was fast disgusted by it as it was NOT educational, in the least, and what they were making the whales & dolphins do... Needless to say, I got up & walked out in less than 10min after the show began.
Yes, it's just another Circus wearing a different 'Clown Costume'. No matter what 'P-R' words they choose to use, it's still animal cruelty.

Oh how I wish THEY could drag a few humans underwater and make them do tricks and live in a box with no friends or stimulaion for 50 years or so....humans would try to kill their captors after 12 hours...never mind YEARS....these people are lucky that theyre not ALL killed by these animals...seriously

The saddest thing that I have ever witnessed. I no longer go to the zoo for the same reason. I looked into the eyes of one of the elephants in captivity and felt it's sadness. I never went back. This is absolutely horrible.
Most zoos are ethical, and the animals they have are in a similar boat. They can't be returned because of one issue or another. And unlike orcas, elephants have a better accommodation and they are not forced to do tricks, unlike in a circus.
@@AngryMothNoises Ethical zoos don’t exist. It’s an oxymoron. Holding animals in captivity is never ethical, no matter how they are being kept. A cage made of gold is still a cage. The same goes for zoos. No matter how big or beautiful the enclosure, it’s still a prison.
Elephants should not be in zoos. Their way of life does not work in the life of a zoo. I saw an elephant in a zoo in SC once and it was standing at the edge of its small enclosure rock back and forth, back and forth. She was going mad. The orcas must be the same way.
@@fleurjoestenWell if you release them all back in the wild they will go extinct within a couple years. Either because they were not born in the wild and cannot survive or the biggest issue, poachers. There is something called conservation. MANY "zoos" are not animals in cages they are making a conscious and expensive effort to conserve many species. Have you ever watched the Bronx one on animal planet? The guy who runs it literally says he does not want animals behind bars. They are on thousands of acres and yes they have enclosures to keep them separated but I promise you those animals live better then most middle class americans. They are fed loved cared for with top notch veterinary care. They get to live and THRIVE without ever worrying about a threat from a predator, human nor animal.
Conservation is not like a circus.
That being said. Endangered land animals are much different then sea life. If there was a true conservation for these orcas that were formerly in captivity that would be one thing. But there's not. Orcas can go into the wild and adapt and survive. They have millions of miles of ocean. They are apex predators. Elephants are not.
I know exactly what u mean a few years ago i went to sea world san diego and the 3 orcas in the smallest tank not even able to swim a lap was tragic and disgusting. I looked into the eyes of the smallest whale and it was so heart breaking.. And not a thing i could do ..
This had me so emotional😭 How could someone do this to such a beautiful creation of the sea??? Never will I pay to take my children to see any animals suffering in captivity.

I'm so happy to see more and more people coming together to fight for these amazing and gorgeous animals! We share this beautiful planet with so many beautiful creatures! We should be protecting them and our home instead of destroying it and them! We are the only ones with the ability to make that kind of change possible! I've always been an animal lover, I've worked with them and been around them my entire life! It both sickens me and saddens me, that such emotionally intelligent creatures, have been traumatized so horrifically! I hope with the combined help of so many of us, we can make the changes to ensure the well being of these creatures!

Watching these documentaries I go thru so many emotions. Anger, sadness, frustration, some happy moments and then right back to anger!! No animal deserves to be locked in a cage and certainly no whale deserves to be put in an oversized swimming pool! I just wish that I could do more to help stop this cruelty. I live very close to Vancouver, BC, Canada and we can see these beautiful creatures as well as humpbacks out in the ocean, in their environment, just by kayaking or on a boat, up close without paying for a ticket to see them perform tricks with their folded over dorsal fin. That's exactly the way it should be!!!
I know exactly what you mean. The happy moments because of the simple fact they’re just so damn adorable and when you see them even in the tanks, but with a trainer who they’ve clearly bonded with as even in the wild they’ll be able to recognize particular individuals and approach them! They are just absolutely adorably sweet! I know. Then you stop saying “Aww” and say but it’s still wrong for them to be there and so forth..
Well an orca is not a whale it’s actually the largest of the dolphin family, however no animal should be held in captivity like this, orcas are meant to be in the wild

Hi from Vancouver island! I am with you! We live in such a beautiful place with amazing wildlife. Seeing these animals in their natural habitats is a wonderful experience. I wish the human race would take their heads out of their ass.. we are destroying our beautiful world and all its creatures...
I watched a video the other day and the creator was saying how people are using her death to say captivity is cruel.....news flash it is cruel. Whether she loved her job or not if you understand animals and animal behaviour you understand how devastating this is to their well being. If you really cared about these animals you wouldn't treat them as toys for entertainment 🤬

After 53 years of being in captivity, Lolita/Tokitae passed away August 18th 2023 at the Miami Sea Aquarium. Kiska passed away at Marineland Niagara in March 2023 so as of now, 1 out of 3 of the loneliest orcas are still alive; Kschamenk in Argentina

I'm sorry but that's silly for that woman to say tillikum didnt mean to kill dawn. yes he did, orcas are not stupid. Even in the wild, they are known to drown animals they know need air to breathe. But that's not too vilify tillikum. He's a wild animal that humans have arrogantly enslaved.

You have to remember Tilikum's history. He was picked on and bullied by foreign female orca's for years and he had pinned up anguish so he acted out.
in sealand, Nootka, one of the females he was with has a RECORDED HISTORY of trying to attack trainers and pull them into the tank but with no fatalities. Marine biologists say that this was a highly stimulating and memorable moment for them. “Witnesses” claimed that it was tilikum only after dawns death and they claim they identified him with his dorsal, however all of the whales had collapsed dorsals… since tilikum was also learning his other behaviors from the two females, it seems to me like he picked up on the violent ones too whenever he felt threatened
My heart..😔.. like all wild animals, they should remain in the wild, protected in their natural environment. Catching killer whales is totally barbaric... Orcas are the most beautiful souls.

I am 32.... Never have I seen an orca in real life.... My life's dream is to visit the Shetland islands with my family (my partner & 2 daughters) to share yet another first with the most important people in my life....... To see orca in the wild, being their true selves! They are beautiful majestic creatures who have me in complete awe!

Makes me absolutely heart broken to see this. Growing up in the Puget sound and seeing these whales in the wild is beyond breath taking and emotional and then to see videos of them getting captured and killed and treated incredibly inhumane just makes me want to give up on the human race altogether. We have ruined this incredible earth we have been given and it makes me feel soooooo damn depressed and upset I just can't get over....😥😥😥😥😥

Word. Seeing these creatures in the wild is something else. I live in New Zealand and its not uncommon to see orca swimming by and even coming up close while in the water
The PNW government is just as bad as SeaWorld unfortunately... Our Southern Resident J, K, and L pods are down to just 71 Orcas total. Between dams and commercial fishing *decimating* the salmon population, competition with sea lions that have exploded in population but are still protected against hunting management, Canadian laws allowing ship waste dumping in our waters, boat strikes/noise pollution, etc. The Southern Residents are down to 1/4 of the population of Northern Residents and still falling. Also successful birth rates for reproductive females is abysmal. They will probably be extinct from WA waters in the next 50 years 😞
I was born , reared , and still live in Florida. As a child I went to Sea world, and once as a young adult . The experience hit me so much differently as an adult . I somehow understood it was wrong . This was before "black fish" . I now would NEVER take my child or grandchildren to sea world , or anyplace that has captive cetaceans . I can take my boat out at any givin day and see the dolphins, there's no need to captivity. Also I'd like to say , let's just say the captive animals were let out in sea pens and only lived a month . I believe that would be the best month of its life . Although I truly believe they would thrive , atleast a large majority. That to me makes it ALL worth it .
Actually the statistics aren't good for the times they have released captive Orcas back out into the wild. Almost every case the Orca has been rejected and mauled by whichever local pod group the newly released animal is trying to interact with. It's super tragic! Keiko the whale that starred in the Free Willy movie,also had this experience when he was released into the waters of Alaska. He wasn't killed,just gored and severely cut down the sides of his body by the wild Orcas. He managed to escape them and spent the rest of his short life,alone and crying in distress near some small ice caps offshore. He was found dead shortly after this. An autopsy revealed he had been exposed to bacteria in the water that he had no resistance to,due to his former years in the marine tanks of captivity,where the water was sanitized during his formative years. This made him very susceptible to any bacteria in the wild. This happens quite often to captive Orcas. Further mistakes with releasing these Orcas are bound to happen because there aren't good records kept for each Orca. It's important to know exactly where an Orca was captured,as the whale song of its pod is different from pod group to pod group. Also important biological information as to climate,sea water content,grazing and hunting information,bacteria and disease exposure,or inclusion is so important,and varies greatly among different Orcas from different places on the globe. Also the Veterinary Science for Cetians has not kept pace or advanced compared to science knowledge bases and treatment recommendations,vaxinations,diet and behavior modifications that are core knowledge for other captive animals,like seals penguins and dolphins. It's frustrating to see and bewildering to me as to why these owners of Orcas aren't willing,or don't know that big changes needed to be made to their aquarium sizes and depths,canals should have been man made to allow them to swim linearly,and I mean miles of waterways should have been made for them. Also interesting play areas,that would stimulate learning,and just basic pools with water ferns or something to give them areas of privacy. With waterways to swim,they could have at least felt like they were migrating. It could have been soooooo different! The things we could have learned from them! Such a shameful waste! Never should business men concerned only with the dollar been calling the shots for these beautiful intelligent beings! ORCAS,so sorry!
Okay, so I 100% agree with the concept that keeping orcas in captivity is inhumane and terrible, but I hate how David Kirby is included as an expert/source on the issue because he leaked the Kasatka tape and wrote "Death at Seaworld" when his book before that in 2005 was "Evidence of Harm: Mercury in Vaccines and the Autism Epidemic" and has gone on to say blatantly wrong things like, "Autism can be cured." He's a crank.

Just because the man is not knowledgeable about autism and similar illnesses and diseases does not mean that he has no credibility when it comes to killer whales for you to even suggest that well I’ve already said above makes your review tasteless and not worth the time you spent typing it.
Kirby isn’t an expert at all. I don’t think they introduced him as such either? He’s merely an author who with that book got lucky with whom he researched it with. I haven’t read either of those books you mentioned however if he was really saying in that book that Autism can be cured and that (I’m assuming) vaccines are linked with Autism.. that’s absolutely ludicrous and has been proven time & time again as Pseudo Science.
His opinions and views on vaccinations and autism etc. has nothing to do with his knowledge about orcas and that’s not even what the book is about so I have no idea why I’m responding to your review because clearly you have not read the book. they're Russian, look at what Russia is doing now in Ukraine and you have your answer.
The seaworld founders admitted it was pure entertainment from the beginning and dude nailed it right from the start: "it was a CIRCUS." It had the freaky daring act of getting into the water "ring" with a "wild, dangerous" animals. Add the music, the tricks, the dance...all performance. The scenery changes from what people normally think of when they hear "circus" but not the situation. Change the language and slap "education" and "conservation" over everything and you get away with high price worldwide wildlife trafficking. The animals' choices are die or live as a slave to humans for as long as your body can take before it gives out along with your sanity. That way children and other people can learn to abuse you and still come out believing that you're worth less as a living being. Basically still the "come one come all come stare and point and jeer at this thing here"

One of the best, if not the best documentary I've seen regarding keeping animals in captivity. There's not one single reason to justify keeping animals in confinement whether it's for entertainment or research other than cleaning up the mess we made as a 'human' species. I can only hope these sanctuaries are not necessary anymore in 50 years or so.
This is despicable!!! Such greed! Makes me cry. I saw mom and baby. I saw other kinds in the open ocean. They’re like graceful ballerinas. I was in awe of these beautiful animals. Leave them alone. They live in the ocean. Leave them in their natural home.
Just recently watched, and it was very informative. I wanted to mention the Kamogawa Seaworld in Japan. They have 4 female orcas, named Lovey, Ran, Lara, Luna. I just recently watched a video showing a major injury to Ran’s rostrum. They stated in the video that the injury occurred while Ran was “playing with” a large metal gate used to separate two large pool areas. The injury looks extremely painful. 😔It’s INSANE, at this marine park, the trainers actually get in the water with the orcas. The only positive I am able to come up with is that they aren’t, that I’m aware of, breeding any of their orcas, since they are all female. Someone actually commented on one of my questions and stated that 3 of the 4 orcas are sisters, while the 4th one is actually the daughter of one of them. I’m curious as to how that happened, maybe they originally only got 3 wild orcas, with one being pregnant that they were unaware of. I pray they didn’t have one of them artificially insemenated, that would be horrific. I pray all captivity comes to an end sooner rather than later.
Kamogawa's male orca, Oscar, passed away in 2012, and he was the one who sired Luna. The three sisters are captive-born to Stella and Bingo; Bingo has since passed away, and Stella was moved to another marine park. Your comment prompted me to do some research on the Japanese Parks, and it looks like Earth is the only male orca still alive in the country. He's also related to all of their other orcas, so breeding will hopefully remain unlikely. And I'm fairly certain Kamogawa's decision to keep sisters together has nothing to do with a desire to keep family units together and everything to do with the fact that they only have one captive lineage to stock the Japanese parks at the moment.
They sourced most of their whales from Iceland, but it looks like five of them came from Taiji. These animals are no longer alive, but it sets a disturbing precedent if they choose to do so in the future.

@@christinamedina3364 For the most part, yes. It looks like China is just getting started, however, and they haven't been very transparent with how many wild orcas they've imported from Russia in the last few years or what condition they are currently
in.

Lovey is the mother of Luna, Ran and Lara are sisters. Their mother is an orca named Stella who is still alive but living in Port of nagoya. There's so many relationships between these captive whales but they seem to separate a lot of them by moving them around to different parks. Stella does have one of her daughters still living at port of nagoya with her, Lynn. Lovey also has a son named earth but he was moved into port of nagoya with his grandmother and aunt. Thats all I've been asked to find on this particular group right now.

Actually the lawyer for seaworld pointed out something amazing. In all the years these places have operated with the abuse they have wrought, Orcas reputation as an intelligent friendly animal holds true.
I have so much respect for those trainers who loved the anamals enough to be on this documentry they left their job with broken hearts the orca is so smart and the parks say no we cant put them back in wild we cold never teach orca to be a orca
Sadly it is easier to capture them than it is to simply put them back after decades in captivity! It’s not at all like the Free Willy movie.
Most have been in captivity for decades therefore don’t know any members of their pods that came after them, they have forgotten how to be a wild Orca, they’ve come to rely on human contact because it’s all they’ve known for years! It’s not impossible but it’s not as simple as people think either.
We need Seapens or Seaside Sanctuaries! Given that our planet is 70% water I don’t see why they couldn’t accomplish this?! They could still allow for human contact, have workers there for them and have the public view them, just allow them to simply be in their natural habit, their home! No tricks like a circus.
Go see these majestic creatures in the wild I promise you’ll learn more in 10 minutes than at 10 shows at SeaWorld!

Most of the ones today were born in captivity, so there is a difference. You say how they capture these animals from the wild when in fact very few today are.
Heartbreaking beyond words
Although the video was long, I was glad that I watched it through to the end. When will we learn that animals are not play things? They deserve to live free and watching them for entertainment is just wrong on any level. Such beautiful creatures are awesome inspiring. We really are a cruel species. 😢

This was well done, laying out step by step when it started & how greed was the beginning of all this & grew larger until they were exposed!I noticed all the trainers were excited & happy to work with them & care for them, but then realized how wrong it all was. It will be worse in China since they are so competitive with other countries!
Had a luv for orcas since a child. As a adult it’s terrible to see them in captivity. I love the fact that one of the woman says these people capturing orcas lack information on the type of orca being caught. I think what see mostly are type A/ transient orcas that feeds on seals, sharks and whales. That’s very important info I haven’t heard anyone really explain in any documentaries. Great job.
If they weren’t captive, how much would you be interested in them or for that matter even know about their intelligence?

Except for the ones that were raised & depend on humans. If you think about it, all the cats and dogs we own are held captive, too. But releasing them to wander through the streets (aka "freedom") will cause nothing but illness, loneliness, and death.

@@CJ55981 Comparing the intelligence of a dog to that of a dolphin is not appropriate. Dogs and cats are domesticated fully, they rely on social bonds with humans to survive. Orcas are apex predators, more intelligent than even humans (proven neuroglogically- they may not be doing calculus but they're the most gyrified brain in the world, their cerebral hemispheres have folds and wrinkles in an amount much larger than our own brains. The paralymbic cleft, an extended part of their brains- that contains lobes- just adjacent to the former region allows excellent memory recall and social and emotional complexity.), and certainly more social and emotional as well. You can keep a dog in a room for a few days, it won't go insane. You can see immediate effects of the contrary on captive orcas, even those who are not wild born. These are terrifyingly smart beings- they understand their place and know captivity is a severe limitation to their natural capabilities. The first ever orca brought into captivity, unamed still, didn't even survive a day. She was put into a tank and lost her mind, swam around rapidly and eventually rammed her head into a wall and died. (Source: David Kirby's 'death at seaworld') Orkid, a hybrid orca, (fish eater AND mammal eater- shouldn't even exist because these kinds are no where to be found in the wild as far as we know) fiercely clever and therefore quite dangerous, is not only playful in the manner that was harmful to her trainers, but also let out these exact behaviours when frustrated. In conclusion, the argument remains firm and always will, whether wild born or not, whether dependant on their trainers or not, orcas are certainly NOT supposed to belong in bath tubs.
@@grey6703 They are named, they are hand fed, they roll over for the veterinarian, they are ridden and they do tricks for treats. They are just as much "domesticated" and "pets" as my dogs, cats, and horses.

All of this infuriates me - I'm so ashamed that I went to see a captive Orca when I was 5 years old (over 50 years ago) - I'm too old & ill now, but if I could I'd love to see these incredible creatures in the wild - Now that's the ONLY WAY to see Orca (Not whales btw - Largest Dolphins)
And when a trainer is killed or injured, ate, drowned they will act surprised and totally blame some bullshit made up excuse as to why it happened, and might I add they will act so surprised like oh my the orca was always so friendly, they were with it every day, point is it's a wild animal it belongs in the ocean where it swims hundreds of miles a day it's DOESN'T BELONG IN A POOL, ITS too small imagine us as humans being forced to preform shows, and have to be in a 3ft x 5 ft enclosure all our life
It is terrible what they do to these animals. All of them not just the whales but every animal they have. People should be ashamed of themselves for helping to make this happen.
After watching a documentary on Orcas, whose brain may be smarter or as smart as humans, much wrinkling and more features, big brain per body size, but the wrinkles and other features mean smarter, and understanding that you are not a mature orca since at least 15, needing to be with your mother teaching you all these years vocalizations (speech) and how to hunt, and possibly needing your mother for 18 years before you understand everything, and you live in a pack, like people, all of this just like people, and someone released a full grown orca who only could speak like a 4 year old, was abandoned by all orcas. Imagine that. You can't just release all these captive orcas who are full grown, don't know speech past a 2 year old, so the other orcas don't know what you're saying, and can't hunt, form hunt packs or do anything else except die in the open ocean. The only thing I can think of is that they are now completely dependent on humans to feed them, so put them with other orcas in the ocean with a very large and long amount of water and give them food. You did this, you have no choice. You make up for your mistake. You talk to scientists about how to keep these orcas free and alive with the best life possible. You did this. You make up for your mistake.

They cannot make up for other's mistakes, but they should not make it worse by trying to. If you tame an animal, that makes you responsible for it.
I have been terribly bored while out of work (but looking!) and it’s taken a massive toll on my psyche. The first two weeks was awesome. Caught up on sleep. Went to the beach. Cooked amazing meals I didn’t have time for while working 60 hour weeks. But it’s gotten painfully boring now. I cannot imagine being a wild animal trapped for the rest of my life in a tiny cage when my natural home is the most vast part of this earth. It’s sick and demented and needs to stop. If we want to study these beautiful creatures, do it in the damn wild.
Never been to SeaWorld and never will go. I’d rather travel and get the experience of watching them in the wild. There’s countries that do tours where you can free dive, scuba dive or watch them from a boat and I’d rather do that over SeaWorld.
You say that like it’s a killer whale park, and all they do is torture killer whales. I suggest actually going to one and making the opinion for yourself instead of letting everyone else do it for you!

As a child my grandmother always took us to Florida, and she took us to Disney, then Marine land, and then sea world. I didn’t understand what was actually going on then. I thought it was something normal. Now I know better and it’s horrible!! But now that I know… I can’t understand how they can be so cruel!! Smh

I refuse to take my family to any parks that have orcas or any performing animals. I fell in love with shamu and baby shamu as a child but as I got older and discovered the truth, I was mortified! We are proud supporters and donors to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. RIP Winter, my friend! 🐬

Every time I see an orca in captivity all I can think is “dance monkey, dance”. The fact that people in the 21st century still pay to see these animals in captivity blows my mind.

I wonder how Tilikum’s brain differed from those of orcas who have lived their whole lives in the wild. Was Tilikum’s brain studied or autopsied after his death?
Have you seen blackfish? I don't think they autopsied his brain, but he was raised in poor conditions from the time he was a calf and they believe it drove him to be a psycho, even other whales abused him... supposedly he murdered multiple people
@@kaleb-sp5rr yes I have seen Blackfish several times. That’s why I think his brain should have been autopsied. To see how his miserable life effected his brain structure.
Update: after listening to John Hargrove’s book Beneath the Surface, he states that it is unthinkable that Sea World would allow an autopsy of a Sea World orca. Meaning - they don’t want us to know of any differences in brain structures. They can’t say the captive orcas are healthier if someone discovers scientifically that captive orcas are brain damaged as compared with wild and free orcas.
They probably didnt but I know that trauma effects the human brain and orca are very emotionally intelligent beings so it's likely that his brain chemistry was completely messed up. That poor whale was attacked by other orcas and on top of that was in chemically treated water In a bath tub he would have had many behavioural issues just as humans do from abuse & neglect not to mention being kidnapped from their parents.
The wrinkles on the brain indicate intelligence and complexity. The more wrinkles on the brain, the more intelligent and complex. Killer Whales have many, more than human beings do.

When I was seven years old I went on a school trip to Windsor Safari Park and they had an Orca named Ramu. I hated it and I hate people that go to these so called shows. If people stop going, they would stop torturing Orcas and Dolphins. Please people, stop enabling this torture.

ive never been to a orca or dolphin show live and im glad as a child i did peep into the dolphin show and the pool was so tiny even as a 8 year old boy i felt like the pool was so small it made me feel sad the dolphin didnt have much room to swim i think this is not right plz free these animals this is so sad
I did not want to watch this as I thought it would be full of bad news and depressing facts. It is not all good news but this is an excellent documentary and it does give hope that these cruel practices could be ended and a sea sanctuary set up for the whales.
I dont know how anyone that had free willy as a child could back the capture of the beautiful creatures. I love listening to them. They should all be free not for entertainment.
I did, I even contributed to the funding. Then I learned years later the amount of time and millions of dollars It. All for him to live one year after being full released. Not quite so heartwarming if you ask me.

Orca's aka Killer Whales are my favorite. I think think people tend to forget they are called Killer for a reason.
They are called Killer Whales because at times they hunt,kill and eat whales! They are not known to have attacked humans in the wild,idk but I don't think there has been an instance of any human being killed in the wild by Orcas! Only in captivity has that occurred.
