Dark slides was the first trick I was obsessed with as a kid. When I first saw Rodney do it. I built a manual pad with a pvc coping to practice my manuals and dark slides.
Really inspirational. I've been skating a year and it's fun. I'm still practicing my frontside no comply 180. My problem is getting the timing down. Besides tons of practice is there a way or trick to get the timing down? I watched your tutorial on the frontside no comply 180 over and over again. I'm NOT giving up. I'm going to upload a video of me doing it and give you the link and when I upload it would you please give me specific tips on how to improve? Thank you. I'm trying different ways to try to get it down. I have a 8.0 Dayz skateboard with Independant trucks bones reds bearings, and 54mm 99a wide spitfire wheels.
I put my weight over my front foot (35% back, 65% front), put your toes in the front pocket, wind up for the rotation as you would for a f/s 180, when your chest and shoulders are open (facing the nose of the board) plant your front foot with your toes facing forward so you can rotate 180 easily, scoop the tail like your doing a f/s shuv but follow the tail with your foot. Once your board is past 90°, push off with your planted foot and try to land on the board before it hits the ground (for style points).
Thanks so much for clarifying the Casper and hospital flip. I am with you on this and it’s perfectly reasonable. There is NO Casper stance in a hospital flip and there IS a moment of Casper stance in a Casper flip. End of discussion IMHO
The no-comply flip is done late. Once you tap the tail and it is clear of the ground and obstacle you need to lightly touch near the edge of the board right at the start of the tail (closer to the bolts).
No comply flip; It’s a pressure pop with the arch of your foot on the outer back edge. Some what similar to a trey flip. Just gotta find the sweet spot. I’ve done a ton of no comply flips. Can’t believe it’s a legit trick now! lol 😂
2:33 at .25 speed and you can see that he slaps the bottom of the tail on the little manipad thing without touching it, while it is boned, and that flips it so he can land
Dan you can slow down the vids if you click the settings button and change the playback speed to see how people do the tricks 👍🏻 also Darkslides are sick 👌🏻
Came here to say the trick! Also the Tweaks for TH-cam extension gives you slowmo down to .1 rather than .25, and you can control it just with the mousewheel so it's much quicker to change
Nah. No comply UNpossible. Like an impossible but it rotates frontside rather than backside. Merlin twist is a switch, front side, front foot impossible.
No comply bonk flips are done by loading the pocket on your tail on the toe side which makes the board hit the curb at an angle causing it to flip the opposite direction. They’re not that hard actually and are pretty fun!

In a world of pretty great skaters Jonny stands apart. I'm on my way to old and grew up watching Rodney single handedly change skateboarding. Jonny is keeping the world that Rodney created alive. I'd say between him, Ellis Frost, Richie Jackson and Andy Anderson skating is in great hands.
bold move to critique a skater as talented as Giger. ive never heard anyone say he "cant" do a trick except maybe him. i dont think that is a late flip no comply. you just bonk it a certain way on the curb and it flips on its own. seen others do it. no back foot late flip. just the curb bonk.
Super talented doing all these tricks that aren’t common. All these street spots are just tiny skatepark style ledges and manny pads. As a “street skater” he’s not even worth a mention imo.
I appreciate how he fully embraced the stereotypical “TH-cam Skater,” label, going so far as to call his part just that. He recognizes it is a putdown and accepts it in a humble, self-deprecating way. Jonny is much more than a “TH-cam skater.”
Johnny is my favorite youtube skater or skater in general. He seems to be a very chill and humble man. Not to mention his mad skills and creativity.
FACTS✅🥬✅
I love Johnny for his attitude, open mindedness and commitment to stylish and progressive skating.

The finger flip 180 is called bebop i think 👍🤙
IT IS. RAD SKATE KNOWLEDGE
I know threading the needle as a hippy jump
Was coming down to say this. As someone from the US I have always know that as a hippie/hippy/ jump.

Dan please explain to me the difference between toe and pressure flip 😅😂 ?! 🙏

for the no comply, the tail hits the curb as it pops causing it to spin
when u are just witnessing the final edited footage of jonny, he is just disgustingly impressive.

Oh yeah of course don’t know why I didn’t think of that! Thanks mate
Yes Wheats👍🏻 I've just tested this out didn't know it was a thing
Came here to say the trick!

Hi Dan i'm new to your channel, i've not long got back into skatin after 30 years. great channel Carl from the uk too.
And the trick at 7:20 is a no comply Merlin Twist
My man
Nah. No comply UNpossible. Like an impossible but it rotates frontside rather than backside. Merlin twist is a switch, front side, front foot impossible.
would that flipping no comply be a pressure flip?
as a dude from the uk, i call the thread the needle a hippy flip cos of skate 3
At 4:10 that's a Bebop, a freestyle trick. A half cab half fingerflip basically.
The no comply is pushed against the curb, and it’s easy to keep it straight imo
Hehe you said now on this video "he's on another tier" , you did last video justice! :)
No comply bonk flips are done by loading the pocket on your tail on the toe side which makes the board hit the curb at an angle causing it to flip the opposite direction. They’re not that hard actually and are pretty fun!
Love Johnny giger you and him are very much my style of sksting great vid!
I kinda think you and Jonny have simular style. Im a fan of Jonny but had missed this video. Thanks for sharing.
Damn that’s a big compliment man thank you! And no problem it’s a pleasure to watch
the amazing tricks of jonny giger is perfect

Threading the needle = hippy jump
Johnny has some mad skills 👏 🔥 🥵 love to watch him... !!

Thank you Sadie! Appreciate you

I could see fp sponsoring him
7:20 No comply UNpossible. Board rotates frontside rather than its normal backside. Awkward af.
The trick where he grabs his board by the nose at the beginning is called an air walk, but he did an advanced version of it🤙
Proper gnarley with the leg spread innit
No isn't, is Jamie Griffin the BEST.
U really should do some research on ur trick names before critiquing
11:53 Kinda ironic how he's unsure about the country while it's literally written in the background of the video.
one wheely
I see so much Rodney Mullen in his skating. The dark slide is the best looking trick ever invented in my opinion
IT'S PLETHORIC MOVE
Algorithmen ❤
this sush a good video
Yeah .. he is
Dan your a bit of a pratt arent you!
Why bother making a review if you don’t even know every tricks name? Create your own content damn
