I love this, thanks so much. Am about to head off into woods for breakfast and there wasn’t room in my pack for my little seat. It’s now strapped onto my rucksack and your tutorial was so easy to follow. I,m a very happy girl ❤
Or go really simple and do the self tightening trucker's hitch. Run the doubled line twice around the right side of the bight, then pull down to tighten, letting the loops fold over and lock the line in place. Throw a half hitch in to prevent the line from unfolding the loops and you're done. Just pull down to tighten, before you tie in the half hitch, pull up to loosen after you undo the half hitch.
As long as nothing pulls the lines out from the knot as demonstrated in the video to release it, it'll hold. You can also leave some slack in the lark's head to leave a loop that can double as a handle for either a stopper knot or something with a hook.

The trap beat to knot craft is insane 😂
Excellent, simple but effective. Going to try it for items on the deck of the kayak. No metal to go rusty.
Interesting. I just bought some elasticated cord and put it on the molle on my backpack, works perfectly for this
That was a slick knot!!
Super! 👍👍👍
A suggestion, turn the larks head into a prussik for more holding power.

Awesome! Thx!
Can you Sinch it tighter after putting item through the loops? I’m trying to carry a tripod for outdoor painting trips with a small pack. Thanks!
He literally shows this at the beginning

Does this knot have a name?
A "Larks Head"...or a Cow's Hitch can be used interchangeably...
