Dog Grooming a Matted Coton De Tulear Difficult Groom
In this video, I groom an 8-month-old Coton de Tulear puppy named Lily Rose. Lily Rose's coat was extremely matted, making this grooming session a challenging one. There’s a heartfelt story behind why she became so matted, and I’ll share the details as I work to give her a fresh start. Grooming her matted face proved especially difficult, and I had to carefully shave her face to ensure her comfort and safety. Watch the full process as I navigate this tough groom, transforming Lily Rose into a happy, clean pup while keeping her well-being my top priority.
Whether you're a dog owner or a fellow groomer, you'll find tips, insights, and the reality of grooming a severely matted Coton de Tulear.

I really appreciate the true, raw feeling of the hooman trying to groom a nervous dog. I groom my own 2 poodle mixes, and it's so helpful to know other groomers go through the same types of situations with pups. Thank you! New sub❤
Thank you kindly! 🙂
You're really patient with her!
Patience and understanding are key to a successful groom. Thank you kindly for taking the time to watch! 🙂
I really enjoyed this groom .. you did so well to make her still look cute …. I would have had her shaved before the operation so this wouldn’t happen
Thank you 😊 🙏
omg that's crazy matted!
Yup!
Que paciencia con estos peluditos. Te sigo desde Madrid [España ], me gustan mucho tus videos. Seria posible alguno con subtítulos en Español ?. 🥰
¡Gracias! Veré si es posible poner subtítulos en español.
I could be wrong but I want to make an observation. Recently, you have been defending yourself throughout the whole groom. I don’t think you need to do that. You know your stuff and you’re good at it. Please don’t allow negative people or comments make you feel like you must defend your actions when grooming. I like your videos and I learn from you, I’d hate to see the negative comments affect your mental health.
You are the sweetest.. Yes, I do find myself defending myself. I realize how many people do not understand the grooming process. I just want to be sure all is well explained.. but I get what you are saying. I guess I will adjust with time. Running a TH-cam channel has been teaching me so much about the world and about myself as a groomer and as a human being. Thank you for your kindness, Angela. Hugs.
You did an awesome job. People dont realize how hard that is to do when a dog is that matted. Can you tell me where you got those little tools you used to cut the ear hair?
Thanks! Yes. It is quite the job! Actually, these little tools are manual nose hair trimmers. The double sidded ones. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it. Just be sure not to stick it directly in the ear.. just slightly on the edge! You turn and pull lightly. Some hair will be pulled, and some will be cut. If there is too much resistance or if the hair doesn't catch on the tool, trey turning the tool in the other direction. Sounds like a lot, but it's actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. There may be some little hairs left, but that's ok! You just want the bulk out to let the ear breath. Remember, never yank out a huge clump of hair at once..
