I want to see just one last podcast with these guys and geoff. I know it'll never happen, but those were my favorite 5 guys for many years growing up. I'll never forget these times
Watching this video now is crazy to think about its been 7 years since this video was published and RT has grown so much. Still love these conversations between the founders, keep doing what you guys are doing. love you all
I'm watching this because I was looking for the earliest podcast. This podcast was created when I was in 7th grade... I'm graduating high school this week... That's how old this
I love how Joel was like: I wanna do crazy stuff to be in a animated adventure. then right after that he starts with the stock price stuff and that turned into an adventure xD
NJLamp Films It's not exactly a joke.......obviously they're gonna talk about a new viral video.....you also put "new" indicating that it wasn't new at the time, making you an idiot.
Austin White Everything you just said is completely false. I was laughing at the fact that it was new at the time it came out, the same way people laugh about that clip from an old talk show where they were so confused about this whole new "email thing", and what the "@" was used for.
Of course the person going out of their way the start a fight on the internet for no logical reason is the smart one, and the one trying to convey normal conversation and speak casually with other members of the RT community because nothing is gained from arguing with a stranger online is stupid. Makes sense. I am not trying to cover over dumb shit, i'm talking to dumb shit not covering over it.
I now know how to make a podcast thanks to some info in the video To Do Podcast 1. Uninvite Geoff 2. Uninvite Griffon 3 ??? 4. Angry Birds Well... Rooster Teeth 2.0 here we come
Good old days. I personally miss these days. The new podcasts feel a bit too professional to me and I lost interest. Also because there are just too many different videos and projects. On one hand it's good to see that you guys have raised such an empire, but on the other hand I just liked these smaller scaled productions more.
TheBlockaddict Really? I only remember hearing about it on the news and remembering some people I had met from Japan previously, wondering if they were okay and such. Strange how time flies.
I love that Joel's talking about doing things for Animated Adventures and the bit about how he's "all over it" gets made into a part of an Animated Adventure.
I miss this format of the podcast. Closeup, huddled, ideas bouncing about. The new format is more accessible to the average viewer but it lost a lot of the charm this one had. Oh well, progress i suppose..and the unfortunate lack of Joel's predictions.
I still prefer the old podcasts to the new ones. I was watching the podcast live stream yesterday and while it's good, I still prefer when the podcast was more casual and was the drunk tank
but burnie was saying that just because it has a limited availability doesn't make it worth anything else. For example, salt has limited availability and so does coal and oil, these things are valued for what they are used for not simply because there is a limited amount of it.
Hawker9317 Yes, gold is used commercially. It's valuable, because people decided it was pretty much. No, availability doesn't exactly mean it's worth more- things are manipulated so much now, it's not an accurate representation of supply/demand. Take a look at diamonds, for example. Far overvalued Basically, it's always been used as currency and considered valuable, so that just kind of stuck. In hard times, no, you're not going to be trading away your food to get some gold. But when the hard times pass, having kept gold means you will have kept your value, instead of losing it. (ie. an ounce of gold basically historically buys the same amount of goods such as a loaf of bread, where as currency does not. Your dollar can disappear over night and become worthless from inflation, gold won't over the long term)
25:00 The answer to the gold question: Its decorative, is a soft metal, does not rust, has high electrical current (used in electronics) and is rare compared to other metals and cherished since ancient times.
The best part is that immediately after Joel talks about doing something stupid to become an animated adventure, he has a conversation that becomes an animated adventure :P
I love it how just as Joel starts talking about how he wants to get animated adventures made about him, he starts yelling about something that gets turned into one...
For the record, gold is one of the most lucrative metals on the planet, that's why it's so valuable. Also, I would really appreciate it if you guys started doing video podcasts again...it would make me, and a lot of other fans happy. Your Canadian pal, Taylor
22:25 after talking about the animated adventures, another a.a moment was made. :) (First time I've seen a podcast with a moment I remember from the a.a)
Welcome to the roosterteeth drunk tank podcast! In this episode Joel goes crazy over gold and Burnie makes fun of him!... actually that sounds alot like every podcast Joel is in xD
Gold is really only valuable for three reasons: one, it is rare, two, it lasts through time (doesn't tarnish or ruin like silver and copper and it maintains it's giving shape easily), and three, it has a given amount, you can't create more out of thin air.
I love how Joel is talking about how he wants be in in an animated adventure but not sure if he wants to talk, then the next thing he says was made it into an AA.
2024. I used to relisten/rewatch the podcasts from the 1st one every year. Early stuff has a TON of gold. Sad to see it’s all ended.
I love how Joel goes from immediately talking about how he want to be in an animated adventure to going on a tangent that becomes one.
I want to see just one last podcast with these guys and geoff. I know it'll never happen, but those were my favorite 5 guys for many years growing up. I'll never forget these times
to this day one of my favorite podcast episodes, I actually remember watching it in high school when it first came out.
Watching this video now is crazy to think about its been 7 years since this video was published and RT has grown so much. Still love these conversations between the founders, keep doing what you guys are doing. love you all
22:04 is one of my favourite RTAA's, lmao... **I'm all over it! You can't stop me!**
Pari I never realized his rant was directly after him being worried about getting an RTAA made from his audio.
I missed this. Incredible hearing about Friday again, the tsunami, the nuclear reactor, everything. What a gem this is!!
Just watching all the old podcasts, and roosterteeth will always be awesome!
gus finishes beer 0:46:20 /reaches under table/ 0:46:34 gus has new beer
Unexpected Wangcore
Epic comment
22:05 joel gold freakout
SantaClips thanks
Church, Simmons, Sarge, and Caboose haha
And Brandon...
I love how burnie is all ''you can't eat it'' when talking about gold. Thats how he assigns value to things.
27:30
Brilliant.
Does anybody else just rewatch/listen the podcast series in the background?
I'm watching this because I was looking for the earliest podcast. This podcast was created when I was in 7th grade... I'm graduating high school this week... That's how old this
I remember when it was all audio and not videos at all.
so what your saying is that your legal ...
cmdrtweak drunkgamers website?
*You're
The first drunk tank podcast was recorded in 2008 or 2009 I believe. I'm not sure if you can find it anymore.
There is a scary moment in life when you understand exactly what Joel is saying.
I've always understood
LOL
"Australian Dollar or the Canadian Dollar" - Joel 2011
Great advice. Australian dollar dropped from 1.03 USD to 69c in that time.
God how legendary is this, an analysis of “Friday” after it came out. And I remember being in high school when it came out lol
I love ow Joel was complaining about wanting to be in an animated adventure, and then what he said was made into one
Mimilaters I noticed that too!
22:07 for the moment where Joel confirmed that he is a maniac. Also made me love Joel, Lol.
The drop of Rebecca Black's Saturday a couple days ago made me come back because i remembered talked about it here on this podcast. Crazy
I love how Joel was like: I wanna do crazy stuff to be in a animated adventure. then right after that he starts with the stock price stuff and that turned into an adventure xD
listing to a VR type idea this far back is funny
I was about to type that in the comments and then I saw your post how funny
Hahaha oh how funny...oh but wait...VR has been a thing since before
anyone who commented on this video was born.
Awesome! I knew someone else would've already found when the rant happened. Thanks for the minute tag.
I love how they talk about the "new" rebecca black video (friday)
This video is from 2011, so it would be new...
that was the joke...
NJLamp Films It's not exactly a joke.......obviously they're gonna talk about a new viral video.....you also put "new" indicating that it wasn't new at the time, making you an idiot.

This video is like the real life version of that one rt Many Years Ago... short.
Watching this podcast while using the video speed function makes this too funny. Drunk, everybody and high voice really excited everybody.
Anyone else tuning in from 2023?
yep, tuning in to better times
2023 listener here
2024! RIP RT!!
2024 lol
Not me
Funny how Joel makes an animated adventure immediately after talking about it
It's funny how Joel doesn't animate the animated adventures.
I know that. I meant the story he tells right after talking about RTAA is an RTAA
No matter what, these podcasts never get old no matter how many youwatch or how many times you watch them.
"JPEG with the white text on it" -Burnie also known as memes
ya.. a JPEG with white the text on it
22:00 is Joel's breakdown
I love it when I watch these podcasts and I see the Animated Adventure before it was turned into the Animated Adventure.
little did they know that their angry birds video was going to become their most viewed video
14:00 yeah we really dont care
So great an animated adventure was made about the breakdown :D
Ahhh the DYY joke! I found it.
I miss this version of Rooster Teeth.
Compared to RT today and it is but a shadow of its' former self.
I like in the animated short about drunk Griffon that it shows the purse in the background when they return to the hotel room. lol.
I now know how to make a podcast thanks to some info in the video
To Do Podcast
1. Uninvite Geoff
2. Uninvite Griffon
3 ???
4. Angry Birds
Well... Rooster Teeth 2.0 here we come
Rebecca black, angry birds on the wall in the background … holy fuck
It's great watching the animated adventures before watching these. :)
meanwhile angry birds the movie actually came out in 2016
Good old days. I personally miss these days. The new podcasts feel a bit too professional to me and I lost interest. Also because there are just too many different videos and projects. On one hand it's good to see that you guys have raised such an empire, but on the other hand I just liked these smaller scaled productions more.
They should make more Video Podcasts. These are awesome.
I wonder what Joel did in 2008
When this podcast was released I was 12. I am now 17
Thirteen and eighteen for me. Weird isn't it?
In fact, they talk about the Japan earthquake in this as a current news story. That only feels like a couple of years ago!
Corban Skillander not really for me. I had geography class that day and they showed it in there, so I always remember that.
7:05 is so meta like it sounds like the oculus rift and they're talking about people coming back to this podcast and calling it dated like wtf
OhMyVlog I've come from the future 2017 invest in banana and copper
Burnie has grey in his beard 3 years ago but nowadays he does not?
He probably colors his hair and his beard. I mean what is he now, like 41? He definitely colors his hair
lol more like 44
Just for men.
i could watch drunk tank every day all day!
I'm watching this and I see it was posted 5 years ago, so I go "oh cool a video from 2008" then like 20 mins in I realise that it's from 2011, damn
29:40 "It's gonna be a thing inside of a thing." Back in the day before something-ception was a thing.
Oh man... Sarge and Doc/O'Malley; Church, VIC and Lopez; Simmons and Caboose all in the same podcast?! My, how time flies...
I miss this format of the podcast. Closeup, huddled, ideas bouncing about. The new format is more accessible to the average viewer but it lost a lot of the charm this one had.
Oh well, progress i suppose..and the unfortunate lack of Joel's predictions.
Why where they don't show us anything that they look up and where the are at a table in a room no set yeah a lot better
SeeMyMustache37
If only i could read that.
aserta translation, SeeMyMustache37 said "this old set sucks the new set is better you douche"
I still prefer the old podcasts to the new ones. I was watching the podcast live stream yesterday and while it's good, I still prefer when the podcast was more casual and was the drunk tank
ThatGuy_BigDoug exactly
Anyone here from 2020? lol
I miss these times...
I love how Joel was talking about being in an animated adventure, and not even 2 seconds later he gives the greatest material for one.
26:39 b/c gold is limited in literal availability, and is no important in making components of major technology........done
but burnie was saying that just because it has a limited availability doesn't make it worth anything else. For example, salt has limited availability and so does coal and oil, these things are valued for what they are used for not simply because there is a limited amount of it.
Total Wannabeeee Right.. But there's a lot less of gold on the earth than there is oil. The more rare it is, the more it's worth.
Total Wannabeeee Yea, and gold, that thing in nearly, if not, every microchip on the planet, is so damn un-useful
Wait isn't gold a great conductor of stuff so it's used in things like microchips and those things on credit cards?
Hawker9317 Yes, gold is used commercially.
It's valuable, because people decided it was pretty much. No, availability doesn't exactly mean it's worth more- things are manipulated so much now, it's not an accurate representation of supply/demand. Take a look at diamonds, for example. Far overvalued

I just realized... Joel is Caboose!
God I´m slow.
cheddarrainbow
I know some people who thought i was caboose and for a hole month i would always get are you sure you not caboose
Dragonhunnter I'm pretty sure not a single person on this planet ever thought you were Caboose

A team for podcast right there.
i love watching these videos while im doing my homework and when im doin somethin boring in minecraft
i like the todo list in the back where it says uninvite geoff and griffin XD
We want more video podcasts!!! More recent ones!
25:00 The answer to the gold question:
Its decorative, is a soft metal, does not rust, has high electrical current (used in electronics) and is rare compared to other metals and cherished since ancient times.
That someone took Joel's quote about anything you can turn into a gif is great and they turned it into a gif... all is now right in the universe.
i love that list in the back.
You guys at roosterteeth are the best. :3
BY far one of my favorite scenes. 22:09
I remember all of this from so long ago, wow.
Man, this was supper informative... I mean, this is good business advice.
i know ive seen that in a few other podcasts its pretty awesome seeing them say it
i love the to "to do podcast" is the background XD
Gus is pure gold, not even remotely creepy. Met him in rtx and he was awesome.
He has all of the conversation topics on it :)
The best part is that immediately after Joel talks about doing something stupid to become an animated adventure, he has a conversation that becomes an animated adventure :P
That image will never be erased from my mind
22:00 is the best part in any podcast ever.
I love it how just as Joel starts talking about how he wants to get animated adventures made about him, he starts yelling about something that gets turned into one...
Matt Hullum (CEO)
Yvonne Secretan (VP, Operations)
Burnie Burns (Creative Director)
roosterteeth is the best thing that has happened to me
i get drunk with you guys. as i watch these. in between my classes. at university.
I wish I could forget about Rooster Teeth, so I could discover it all over again
For the record, gold is one of the most lucrative metals on the planet, that's why it's so valuable. Also, I would really appreciate it if you guys started doing video podcasts again...it would make me, and a lot of other fans happy.
Your Canadian pal,
Taylor
22:25
after talking about the animated adventures, another a.a moment was made. :) (First time I've seen a podcast with a moment I remember from the a.a)
thats cool,i didnt see that when i watched it,thanks for sharing
Welcome to the roosterteeth drunk tank podcast! In this episode Joel goes crazy over gold and Burnie makes fun of him!... actually that sounds alot like every podcast Joel is in xD
Oh, so ironic, that famous bit after 22:08, right after they were talking about what would be on animated adventures. :p
Every single time they talk about the value of gold and burnie shouts out "You Cant Eat It" i fucking die laughing
Gold is really only valuable for three reasons: one, it is rare, two, it lasts through time (doesn't tarnish or ruin like silver and copper and it maintains it's giving shape easily), and three, it has a given amount, you can't create more out of thin air.

Coming back and watching these video podcasts again and noticing Gus looks like Grumpy cat at 0:10:53 when he frowns
I was cracking up at the beginning when gus brings up plato
