This has got to be my favorite story of all Appalachia stories. This goes to show when love is the basis for a family, the heart will prove to be the strongest ali.
Nothing soothe me better than late at night , that peace of mind , as a mother my only break time . Everyone is in bed, and I pour myself a glass of wine, and listen to a story on this Chanel, priceless moment . Thank you for the stories , and this Chanel 🥰🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
That's a very touching story. The Lord works in mysterious ways. It took him a near death experience to open his eyes. Thanks for sharing this my friend.
Oh J D, your stories are so relatable To us older generation. My own children and grandchildren simply can not relate in any way to the way of life, with no television, internet, no indoor plumbing, no showers or tubs, cooking at a cast iron wood stove. And it being the only source of heat and hot water heating. Have you ever wondered how they would survive if there were a catastrophic event to happen?
How's the Boy Scout in the mid-70s Swiftwater Pennsylvania we did a lot of camping I asked my friend Luther Blevins where are all these tree stumps he told me they were American chestnuts to had a blight were hundreds of them I never forgot that
Oh my! I’m teary-eyed! JD, you and Sarah are absolutely the best storytellers ever!!! Oh yeah! Folks don’t forget to subscribe and grab JD’s book! It’s got stories galore…..just like this one!! Blessings always JD & Sarah! ❤️🙏😊
Again I salute The Appalachia Channel for another heart-rendering tale enhanced by stark, poetic imagery. Especially moved by mountain top storm clouds superimposed over Cora's haunting, defiant stare...symbolizing turbulence within. Thank you. This is a wonderful story. I was worried that Cora would try to run away. Did she get to grow up and have a much happier life? What about her younger brothers and sisters?
Hi, are these stories real or what? Tell you what, I never seen or new that the old timers built houses in stumps. The size some of those tree's must have been aye!🇳🇿
